I can't wait for the next season!
6 April 2016
"A family of adult siblings find that their secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep of a brother returns home."

First, the cinematography is amazing, loved that part (first step to success!). The story, although you might think it's simple, becomes complicated and thrilling. There's nothing like this on TV (right now or ever). The character development is just spot on, slowly (and cleverly) we become attached to some or "hate" others. We see how complex are human beings and how strange is a family bond. And, of course, I have nothing bad to say about the cast, they are just perfect. It's so refreshing and it feels so real. You could say this is kind of a slow show, but that's a good thing in this case. They are giving you just enough information but not too much so you become more and more curious and anxious to see what happened/is going to happen.

All I have left to say is: I can't wait to see what happens in the next season (it's going to be so good to see how these characters will be after what happens this season!). This could really be a great show.

The Mindy Project (2012–2017)

Just try and watch it!
6 April 2016
Here is the plot: Mindy is a obstetric doctor trying to manage her personal and professional life, she has a very strong personality (which makes her funny and totally relatable).

Usually I don't like this kind of series but this one has some quirky/unique/funny little details that drive me crazy. The series builds herself around unique stories. It seems fresh, with lots of new innovative jokes and good characters.

I have to admit that I love Mindy Kailing, she's one of the funniest women in the business. She was awesome in The Office (US) and she's being awesome acting, writing and directing this show. I've been saying for years that romantic comedies don't need necessarily to be bad, this show proves this genre can be good when is well made (like action/sci- fi/…). Also, Mindy Kailling said something that I always thought through my entire life: there's no need to keep breaking up couples we know will get together at the end. Being in a relationship can still be funny and interesting. Life doesn't get boring when that happens so follow this advice: people are tired of couples breaking up in TV shows just because (or to turn the show "interesting").

Just try and watch it!

Person of Interest (2011–2016)

I think it's on my top of best TV shows!
6 April 2016
It's so much more than a crime solving/preventing TV show. I was expecting something boring with the same structure as NCSI, CSI, The Mentalist, Castle, etc. But it's so different and unexpected! I loved it.

"An ex-assassin and a wealthy programmer save lives via a surveillance AI that sends them the identities of civilians involved in impending crimes. However, the details of the crimes -including the civilians' roles- are left a mystery."

Every new character is a pleasant surprise! It has an amazing character development and the cast it's absolutely fantastic, they manage to create such complex characters and relationships. I also love the soundtrack (most of the times).

It was created by Jonathan Nolan and JJ Abrams, you may have heard of them if you watched Lost, Super8 or the Batman films (Jonathan Nolan wrote their script). The whole series is almost flawless, the script is original and exciting. It's obvious that it's inspired in several TV shows and movies but nevertheless it's great, fresh and smart. I was hooked since the first minute. I certainly think this TV show deserves more recognition.

I think it's on my top of best TV shows. It's simply awesome.

Orphan Black (2013–2017)
8/10
I completely recommend it to everyone out there!
6 April 2016
"A streetwise hustler is pulled into a compelling conspiracy after witnessing the suicide of a girl who looks just like her."

If that plot doesn't interest you, I don't know what will. Orphan Black has everything an excellent TV show should have. The story is immensely interesting and smart; besides that the show is fast paced, full of dynamic and action. Tatiana Maslany (the main actress) is perfect for this role, she's an brilliant actress with an endless talent. The rest of the cast is equally as fantastic. There is mystery, twists, romance, danger, drama, comedy!

It's sci-fi but if you feel skeptical because of that I can tell you I do not like sci-fi but still adore Orphan Black. There's nothing like it out there and I warn you: it's completely addictive. There's so much to say about it but unfortunately that would lead to spoilers and I don't want to ruin this rich experience to anyone.

This TV show has so much potential, it's one of my favorite TV shows out there and I completely recommend it to everyone out there.

The Goldbergs (2013–2023)

Really like it!
6 April 2016
Adam Goldberg grew up in the 80's and he's recreating his "wonder years" in this TV show, showing how his family and friends were and what were his greatest adventures. Always with a camera, young Adam records his protective mother, crazy brother, popular sister, lazy father and cranky grandfather.

It's similar to, for example, Malcolm in the Middle but there're certain details that really rise this one to a new level. I did not grow in the 80's but I still find this really funny and amusing. It's well written and acted, the music and outfits are just perfect! I don't think this is the best show ever or anything like that but nowadays there are so many TV shows that look the same and this one feels just like a breath of fresh air. There's nothing like this on TV, it has a unique atmosphere and characters. I really hope it doesn't get canceled because it's my secret little treasure.

It has potential and with a couple more seasons with really funny episodes (it's only on the second season) will make this one a show to watch.

Black Mirror (2011– )

It's so worth it!
6 April 2016
Black Mirror is a British TV show that shows the darkest aspects of life and technology. Each episode is a different story, but they all have one thing in common: make you think about how technology/life/human beings can be terrifying. It's kind off a sci- fi/drama/thriller show that really messes with you and I believe it changes you. You'll not forget it soon.

The first episode was so disturbing, I can't even describe how shocked I was during the whole thing. The rest are also disturbing but not as much as the first one. I think it was a statement: "this is not going to be a easy TV show to watch but we show the truth about cruelty, about how technology can impact our lives and about us, human beings". I watched all the episodes and I can say they are disturbing (in different levels) but they're all very impressive, well executed and we can see how much effort and thought all the directors/writers/actors put in each episode.

If you watch the first one and just want to quit, give it another chance and watch the third (which I think is one of the best episodes of a TV show I have ever watched). Give it a chance and watch the first season, it's only three episodes and, believe me, it's worth it.

An awesome TV show!
6 April 2016
What an awesome TV show. If you're looking for a comedy to be obsessed with, the search is over. The Belcher family is a very peculiar one, they own a hamburger restaurant and they're very dramatic which leads them to many adventures.

It's clever, the humor is original and fresh, and the characters are so quirky and unique! Every character is a piece of gold, for example, Tina is an awkward and hormonal teenager with low self-esteem (and her voice is so funny, it's actually a man doing it). All characters are funny and almost every episode is hilarious!

I absolutely love this show. It's currently on its fifth season. There's really nothing left to say. Forget The Simpsons, American Dad or Family Guy for now, this one is so much funnier. Go watch it!

Narcos (2015–2017)
9/10
Seriously impressed!
6 April 2016
From Netflix, Narcos it's an American crime/drama series that follows the true story of drug lord Pablo Escobar and the constant fight against drugs and traffic of influence in Colombia.

The most interesting aspect of this series for me, personally, is getting to know the history of Colombia, a country so far away for me and that I know so little. Besides that, it has a rich cast (although most of them aren't Colombian) which play their parts very well. It's a real story with an impressive atmosphere and direction.

The narrative style gives it a different aspect which helps the viewer engage in a more aware and informed way, contextualizing the culture and the story itself.

It's exciting and fast paced, it makes you want to keep coming back for more. Seriously impressed with this one. Curious to know where it's going.

Scrubs (2001–2010)
6/10
It's a fair series to watch when you're looking for a time to relax
6 April 2016
Scrubs follows J.D.,an intern on Sacred Heart Hospital, and his fellow interns, surgeons and colleagues on their journey.

I watched the first four seasons but I didn't see any reason to continue because there was barely any story progression. It started good, it has some uniqueness in itself so it seemed fresh. The characters were funny, the format and the atmosphere present in the hospital were unexpected and the soundtrack is quite good (it's full of well known songs). But there was no development, it was like I was watching always the same season again and again and again, with little variations.

I would describe it as a little unrealistic and silly, which can be great sometimes. I wouldn't highly recommend it though because I barely laughed. Therefore I wouldn't say it's the best comedy I have ever watched (as I know it is described by many people), it's a fair series to watch when you're looking for a time to relax.

Mozart in the Jungle (2014–2018)
6/10
Entertaining enough
5 April 2016
Following Rodrigo, a young Mexican maestro, that starts working at the New York Symphony as well as its musicians and managers, this is a new "comedy-drama" focused on music, ambition and finding your way through life.

There is nothing like this on TV but that necessarily doesn't mean its brilliant. First of all I would hardly consider this a comedy, for me it's more like a (sometimes slightly funny) drama. Besides, I don't feel a strong connection to the characters, I don't care much about what happens to them, maybe it's the light atmosphere and themes or maybe it's the fact that it's only an half-hour long, I'm not sure. The script and dialogues are average, a bit cliché sometimes, which makes it just enjoyable. I wish it would approach more diverse and real subjects in more depth and have more intense and rich conversations.

What I appreciate more in Mozart in the Jungle is its music because personally I don't listen much to classical music and this is a nice way to do it. The soundtrack is really wonderful.

With a great cast and excellent performances, it had potential to become memorable but now it is just entertaining enough to not turn off the TV.

Daredevil (2015–2018)
9/10
Reviewig Daredevil's 2nd season!
5 April 2016
Maintaining the same heavy and dark atmosphere, Daredevil introduces us to more complex iconic characters of the Marvel universe (Elektra and the Punisher) without forgetting the existing ones. We see a lot of character development on Karen Page (as she investigates the Punisher and constantly questions her own values and beliefs) as well as Foggy (we know his insecurities and beliefs better as his friendship with Matt Murdock is once again threatened). I have to point out that I did not like the evolution of Karen and Matt's relationship, although I understand why they decided to include it in the show (because of the comics!), I was not much of a fan.

Although we got a glimpse of the constant internal debate of Matt Murdock in season one, this time Matt seems to be constantly struggling about what's wrong and right, what's a hero and a villain. With the introduction to the Punisher and Elektra, this debate was inevitable. And this is one of the most exciting things of this season, I was always trying to categorize the three of them into hero or villain and I came to the conclusion that's not that black and white. Humans are so complex and, for that reason, there is a thin line between a good and a bad person. We are not just good or bad, we have both traits in ourselves.

Jon Bernthal plays Frank Castle, aka the Punisher, who is a vigilante who's not afraid to use violence (murder, kidnapping, torture, etc) in his war on crime. Frank Castle is a fascinating character, an antihero that can make us love and hate him at the same time. He brings a lot of violence to the season, which we all love. Jon Bernthal gives an epic performance and I hope we can see him more often in this amazing universe that Netflix created (what I mean is: give him his own TV show!).

Elektra, played by Elodie Yung, is a trained violent assassin but she's also an ex-girlfriend of Daredevil. I loved the tension between both of them and also all the story of their past and why she appeared in New York looking for his help. When they are together we see Matt Murdock actually enjoying his powers, which was really fun. Elodie Yung was a pleasant surprise, after watching this season I can't imagine Elektra being played by anyone else. She gives an amazing performance and I also wish to see more of her in the future, Elektra is a fascinating character and there's still a lot that has not been told (in other words, give her her own TV show!).

Some people criticize this second season by not having a consistent villain. I don't agree with that. First of all, I enjoyed the different approach of introducing two new antiheroes instead, it shows that the creators are not afraid of trying something new. The fact that they don't want to repeat themselves and have always the same structure shows that this TV show should be praised. Also, the complexity of Elektra and the Punisher completely occupied the show, leaving no space for a villain.

(I quite enjoyed Wilson Fisk appearances and I can't wait to see what happens to him next season.)

Daredevil managed to surprise me with (once again) impeccable action scenes all over the season.

Marvel's Daredevil did not disappoint. I couldn't help watching the whole season in three days and I honestly can't wait to watch again. The intense atmosphere, spectacular script, breathtaking action scenes and stunning performances made me completely surrender. I can't wait for the third season and also for the rest of the TV shows related to the Marvel universe on Netflix. Marvel's Luke Cage is next and, if it is as good as Daredevil and Jessica Jones, Netflix will make history.

Prison Break (2005–2017)
8/10
Why did I wait so long to watch it?!
5 April 2016
I don't know why I only fully watched it this year, I don't know why I was trying to avoid it. 2015 is the year I first watched Prison Break and I loved it! I was seriously surprised with its quality.

I found myself completely immersed in the story after the first two episodes. The story throughout the series is surprising and well thought (although it can be a little unrealistic sometimes). The actors have solid performances so it's definitely worth watching if you like action, crime and drama. Boring is certainly not what this series is.

Although four seasons it's not very long, it's a truly intense and consistent series. Nowadays, TV shows tend to last more than they should (ruining completely our opinion on them), but in my opinion this one ended at the right time. One more season and it would become terrible.

Also, I'm curious to see how the prequel rumored lately is going to be.
