Copper (2012)
Too much suspension of disbelief
I was initially interested, but wound up skipping through the episodes just to find the resolution to a couple of plot points. I guess I lost it when Corky, with a broken FEMUR, managed to climb up to the bedroom in the brothel to help Annie kill her molester. Really?! The mystery of what happened to Corky's wife isn't particularly compelling and I find myself not caring. It's not made clear if he misses and still loves her -in which case why is he sleeping around so much?- or if he is just curious. It's amusing that it's just like modern police procedurals as far as the dynamics between the detectives and their superiors and the presence of a Medical Examiner in the form of an African-American doctor(who was apparently trained in Paris or something?)supplying the forensic evidence, but that's not enough.
Incubus (1981)
A GREAT bad movie
I love horror and was looking for something to watch while the members of my family-who do not love horror-were out for the afternoon. Since I had heard of this film and John Cassevettes was in it I thought it must be worth a look. Well, it is, but only because it's a 'good BAD movie'. In almost every scene poor John C looks like he's trying to think of a way to get out of his contract. The scene where he, the doctor, examines the dead girl is priceless. The dialogue between John C, the Sheriff, and the Mayor makes you think what great fodder this film would have been for Mystery Science Theatre 3000. I can't believe that people actually give this movie positive reviews. It's really silly.
