Terror in the Jungle (1968)
I agree with the rest...
Making a jungle movie POORLY isn't easy...first, you have to make sure that the nightclub style ceremonial dance scenes are choreographed with just the right amount of schlock...you have to make sure all of the costumes have been lifted from the 1968 Miss America (or maybe Miss Ecuador) swimsuit competition...and you definitely MUST insure that all the actors have never performed beyond the high school level...
I'M TOTALLY AMAZED THAT THIS MOVIE ISN'T UNIVERSALLY CONSIDERED TO BE THE MOST BEAUTIFULLY MADE BAD MOVIE OF ALL TIME. I laughed more during this movie than any other...EVER!!!!!
The problem is that, since it is so unknown, it's hard to find. Yet it's definitely worth the effort if you like this sort of thing,
Westworld (1973)
Concept is great.
The concept of this movie was fantastic...very original... but, as many have stated, the plot inconsistencies and less than great execution are distracting.
Like most people, I watched Westworld (33 years after it was made) because I'd heard it was one of Yul Brynner's great performances...It certainly is. But it's definitely NOT one of Richard Benjamin's great performances (has he ever had one?) Being primarily a comic actor, he was TOTALLY miscast in this dramatic role.
Even with the outdated special effects, Brynner is mesmerizing as a robot...WAAY beyond Arnold in the terminator movies. Kinda thought he'd have a bit more screen time, though. The rest of the acting is mundane by comparison. And with Benjamin, James Brolin, and Dick Van Patten also starring, it definitely had the feel of a made for TV movie.
