The Old Man (2022)
First Episode is great then blah.
Ever place where the writer and direct diverge from the book, they made the wrong choice, complicating a simple but intense plot with an overwrought soap opera.
Ozark: A Hard Way to Go (2022)
Jumping the shark completed
Seasons 1 and 2 were great, season 3 ok and downhill since. The show made no effort at plausibility even within its own parameters. A car crash that served no dramatic purpose and no one was even limping afterward despite a double roll over. A ridiculous plot revolving around the kids going to live with their grandfather. Wendy checking into a mental health facility. And then a former police office after realizing his dream of returning to the force inexplicably returns to the Ozark and then as happens in the world of bad dramas, after finding evidence implicating the Byrds, rather than going to the police sticks around to deliver a speech.
The Morning Show: Fever (2021)
This show is about a News Station?
They've done a terrible job all season covering Covid concluding with the asinine idea of doing a show from Alex's apartment as she deals with Covid and then Chip risks his health by going to her apartment. Ludicrous! Since this is a News Station shouldn't they be covering News instead it's the tritest of soaps. I keep wishing Newsroom was still on. They had their relationships but could also get damn serious. The thought of Sam Waterston and Jeff Daniels with Aaron Sorkin writing covering the election and Covid makes me sad for what should've been.
The Good Fight: And the Violence Spread. (2021)
Excruciatingly dumb
The Good Wife was a great show. The Good Fight's first season was similarly great and until this season the show was consistently good. The Good Wife and early Good Fight touched on serious issues. This season was about serious as Dumb and Dumber except not nearly as funny. The Mandy Patinkin arc was offensively ridiculous and Marissa needs to return to being a minor character. Even the Oscar Rivi starting didn't cut it, a pale imitation of Lemond Bishop. Diane and Jay and Charmaine are great but this show misses the gravitas of Alicia and Will and Peter and Kalinda. I have a solution going forward. Split the series into two shows The Good Fight and The Dumb Fight.
Ozark: Fire Pink (2020)
I'm sick of Ben
The brother is turning this into an after school special. The show was on a roll into now.
Giri/Haji (2019)
Mixed bag
I'm on the next to last episode, the show went from a great Noir episode 1, to fair and by episode 7 idiotic soap opera garbage. The so called good guys are more loathsome than the Yakuza and the Kelly McDonald's characters actions make no sense.
