Steven Reeds Weber Cooks (2012)
Broken man helping college students navigate the complexities of campus life.
That is my elevator pitch to Jerry Bruckheimer.
Leaving high school and going to college is complicated for everyone. Maybe you could use some advice on how to stay healthy at school, Steven delivers. There is no packaging he can not open and no recipe he can't improve. My favorite episode is the chili cheese dip, he understands the importance of social interaction at college and he prepares students to wow their friends. I wish I could sit down and have a chat with Steven.
Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)
there is something wrong with QT
I liked parts of this movie and the art direction but as a whole I don't understand QT's fascination with gore, blood and death. His homage to Kung Fu movies etc. is nice but to build a movie around it left me a little flat and I am glad I did not pay to see it but kinda liked it.
Darkness (2002)
When there is a ghost in the house you get the #%*$ out!
Another movie where a white family should have taken Eddie Murphy`s advise, I would move out of a house if you found foot and hand prints on the ceiling. This movie was boring and predicatable. For some reason the director thought intolerably long shots of swings in the rain would be scary. I was hopeful at the beginning with the quick cuts scary prelude (ala Seven) of the murder of 6 children, but the movie is just a rehash of a number of other better movies The Shining and The Believers. It even steals the premise of The Believers but with less of an explanation of why things are happening.
Oh and the acting....ugh, the dad, my God I thought he was the guy from those instant coffee commercials that were popular a few years ago and the mom is no better, she is always to tired to notice the lights turn on and off or that her son is being bruised when he sleeps or there the foot prints on the ceiling.
This movie sucked.
