My parents were married for over 50 years They argued and like the kids I feared DIVORCE more than anything WHO was I going to live with, who would the courts give custody to me?

Shared weekends More than anything it scared me when I was young I am now a social science graduate My mother told me when I was VERY young Marriage is an economic agreement How right she was She was independent financially and knew she could survive This 'comedy' film illustrates in the 21st Century women HAVE to be financially independent My mother bought her OWN clothes,car, house expenses and when everyone else around her was divorcing she remained married When my father was dying she showed the tenderness and care to a her husband.

Marriage is WORK as the film illustrates, the consequences are disastrous for the family 'Married at first sight' and the other 'modern' marriage shows illustrate first sign of conflict The marriage is OVER and IRRECONIBLE To me and I'm not a Christian zealot marriage and children are the BEDROCK of a stable working society.

This was a surprising unexpected Christmas movie because it was unpredictable

I got the ending totally wrong

Usually it's a rehash of 'pride and prejudice' and it's telegraphed a mile off the ending.

The other thing I liked is the casting of the male leads,

Hallmark it's a done deal every female in America has long dyed blonde hair which American men seem to love.

But we saw Greg Harrison with wrinkles,gray hair and. Anne Sward,gray hair,elegant NOT silicone enhanced Barbie doll,older woman false lashes,breasts which she shows off in every scene, side view, front view and plenty of lower views. Where are the feminists?

A 'special' mention for Bobby Campo- he has 'it', star quality, Cary Grantish quality. Great acting,didn't overplay or underplay.

I want to see MORE of Bobby Campo

Just perfect in the role Bobby Campo and Greg Harrison 'stole the picture from the long blonde hair American stereotype woman.

I have had this series for quite some time because I love classic novels,period series and George Eliot

The cast is par excellence,the production is awesome a feast for the eye and the beautiful music is moving and blissful

I cannot fault anything or anyone and the ending brings tears to your eyes.

BUT the BIGGEST unexpected shock to me watching this was I was I like Daniel Deronda

I have been tracing my family tree and was always told I my roots were in the United Kingdom but THIS week while watching this series I find that my fourth great grandfather was a RABBI

Going further back in the 18th Century they went to England from France and probably Russia. Research continuing

Like Daniel Jewish history and people have always moved me greatly.

Please watch and enjoy this series because it shows fiction can also open new doors in your life. Like the characters in this series.

As a man it makes me so angry that we see smart intelligent business women with their own potentially new successful IT app giving up for 'love' Here is a woman on the verge of becoming the next Facebook and she gives it up for love, ONLY when she find out he has money earning potential and major assets in HIS business(Ka-Ching)) So the rest of her life she sits around making babies for her husband and wastes her talents and abilities. It makes me mad the potential of women in business is being wasted by watching this romantic garbage She could have married Evan, solid dependable, kind, loving and both are good friends. He obviously supported her business ambitions and didn't expect her to be chained to babies and the kitchen.

But she chose to give EVERYTHING away and also her future step-Mom on 'love' I can't stop thinking one Hurricane and the family has lost everything whereas Alana and Evan would both have had careers,supported each other and being secure and happy.

Hallmark is coming up with cookie cutter plots, I like happy endings but the woman is LOSING out to love and never succeeding in her ambitions or life . So would look back unfulfilled, empty and full of regrets.

I couldn't stop CRYING knowing his real demise and how he did it and to be portraying a dying man on screen.

The cast unaware of his real life prognosis.

Knowing his biography he really was temperamental, excitable and true to his character. I think this role would have been quite painful to him. Imagine going home each night and keeping the secret from everyone of how serious your illness was.

I know the Academy loves giving posthumous Oscars but I wish Robin got another one for this performance It is brilliant and you can see the real suffering and soul searching.

They say is a clown is sad inside and he showed it through his phenomenal talent.

Good Morning Vietnam, the Dead Poet's Society, Good Will Hunting yet being a standup comedian and his comedic performances I miss him so much and I really don't think America realized what a GIANT talent they had in Robin Williams.

So we start with clever tech-savvy North Asian assistant who navigates this poor dumb blonde into the 21st Century tech world of social media The assistant is always subservient to the female white boss who has a failing business ,never disagrees but can clearly see why the business is failing.

No wonder it's failing if she's SO dumb Then we introduce another superior white person who is going to be the love interest of the other white person who happens to be be blonde and dumb

The boss white person has a subservient South Asian stereotype person who is also extra keen to please the white man but must obviously lacks the white man's education because he is dumb and subservient. Never questions or disagrees because that is not the role of non-white people in this white world

I was waiting for the 'token' African and of course he comes in as the mailman another subservient role to these superior white people. Profusely praising the dumb white blonde for being so generous

We have the stereotype of the dumb selfish supermodel, all supermodels must be dumb otherwise they would have good jobs wouldn't they?

The acting and directing is terrible Total waste of time had to give up I was SO angry that this racism exists in the 21st Century.

Being an Australian Jackie Weaver she is a Down Under ICON, divorced from a Australian Senator/media headline. But 'born' at the birth of the Australian film revival. Check 'Caddy" she had a small part but broke my heart with her performance The diversity and breadths of her performances is incredible comedy,drama, or Shakespeare a true actor.

The other 'special' mention is Lucy Lui, a major star in a 'bit' part but I kept thinking 'what an actor, she's stealing the picture. I didn't recognize her, which shows she is a true actor in the traditional form.

No small parts only small actors My BIG letdown is the musical direction/drag performances. The performers weren't bad but the who in the hell directed it. One word BORING!

I have been to tacky drag shows and laughed myself sick with how good/bad they are . I was young naive and kept telling everyone it was excellent miming and choreography/jokes The drag shows had no entertainment value whether tacky or full production.

It ruined it for me I thought it might be a gay 'Sister Act" and I would be weeping at the end.

Watched 'Once upon a time Deadpool' mildly amusing and clever But whether I wasn't 'stoned' enough or not in the mood Deadpool got tedious after awhile.

I'd watch a bit get distracted do other things come back the next night found I'd only had watched ten minutes So resolutely I thought keep going again did other things with the sound running Fast forwarded the violent fights which I don't find thrilling or exciting in the least Some of the action sequences are good harken back to the silent movie stunt days which I did enjoy. You expect he's going to smashed then whap surprise Ryan Reynolds is talented and has comedy schtick but I think looking at a blank mask all the time loses it for me I may as well watch animated cartoons Anyway I gave up one day at friend's place I'll probably watch it and find it hilarious.

First domestic robots ALWAYS means female that is their job in this scifi future.

Father figure is non-existent yet he bought to have MORE time with his wife and children. Father and wife seem to spend less time together and with their children even though they have a robot cooking and cleaning 24/7 Mother is top lawyer yet stands in kitchen talking to 'tin can' rather than her husband and children. Never seems to do any professional work ,helping children or communicates more with husband.

Everyone resents having everything done for them but don't seem to miss having to clean their own rooms or cook for themselves.

With manual labor and repetitive tasks being done by robots human creativity would be freed up and they could be conquering space,disease,famine or even mental illness.

We start with a cliche 'escape' scene and chase scene which we've seen in every 60's crime film but they were more believable and exciting. I anticipated everything that happened and foresaw it. Just sat bored Get to the airport interstellar transportation ,yet in our primitive society we have face recognition, electronic passports,iris scans, hand print recognition, GPS tracking on phones/comm device. Not in this interstellar world.

Rapidly I'm falling asleep with cliche after cliche, nothing new, nothing exciting or imaginative.

Save your money(renting,streaming or buying) James Bond every year I think it can't get better or more exciting. But it does unbelievable creative chase scenes, BAD VILLIANS, new gadgets.

Why Star Wars has a formula -dialogue, action/chase scene ,dialogue scene/love scene, dialogue chase/action scene and so on endlessly to BIG finale which goes on TOO long and ends so there will be a sequel.

I LOVE this series after ONE episode, we love our 'stuff' but when you have to move to smaller or taller places you have to decide what to take leave behind.

I was expecting it to be sanitised , that is women still wearing makeup, clothes etc but they DO 'strip' people. It is NOT watch for sexually explicit but they DO make it real,no makeup,no clothes, toothpaste, ,shoes I am REALLY looking forward to see how other people cope and decide what is important in their lives Imagine being in a natural disaster and losing your 'stuff' how would you cope?

I can't live without my computer and I have a closet of clothes I hardly wear and LOVE my books, CDs, DVDS.

I just CANNOT believe what the producers were thinking with this film. FOUR hours you couldn't take preteens or even teens, they would be playing with their phones. Everyone else would have fallen asleep. Why is everything so dark?

Male/Female the answer now for force is MORE force,violence, 2 seconds of one cut then the next I don't even know who or what's happening.

The dialogue is puerile, I cringe for the utter waste of this brilliant acting talent and they have to utter this inane dialogue.

Why the Bond/Star Trek/Star Wars franchises are so successful is the villains have 'flesh'. We love to hate them but when you're seeing these CGI monsters. I don't care. The Bond villains the richer and the more glamorous women they had the more we hated them -envy Obviously the 'new' role for women is in either in the boxing and wrestling ring where they live fulfilled lives of violence and overcoming opponents using their fists or feet. Isn't great to see women equally violent as men Wonderwoman says I'm my own woman. Every female boxer or wrestler would say that before a bout. So she will have to have an IVF baby, marry a man, or die alone. Great career choices for modern women.

I kept laughing how someone could spoof this movie when Lois opens the bedside draw there's a still vibrating sex toy or ENORMOUS condoms These movie teach children if a country threatens yours you MUST build a BIGGER and more powerful bomb. Force overcomes everything and hatred is acceptable against your enemy.

This production is 'tired' and lackluster except for Sutton Foster, who is the only one that tap dances and is really able to sing and act.

The rest can't act, don't dance except adagio type with no energy or vim.

Call me non PC but casting Hope with a black actress and white old mother just didn't work for me. Also unfortunately she can't act and remains 'cold' to Billy. Who also is unconvincing in his lover role.

The new 'english' dialogue doesn't translate to elsewhere This production ticks all the PC boxes it's got African,Asian(North and South) and the Caucasians. I now watch TV and film ticking off the PC boxes when the cast is multi-racial,disabled,gay or whatever. It's so in Sound of Music all the children have to be of a different race to be PC but Chinese/Japanese filmmakers don't have to import multi-racial actors to comply with our standards.

I support diversity and inclusion but it's becoming tokenism which I don't like.

This film is without diminishing it is the usual post-war romance.

But when you realize that the King of Hollywood actually was a wartime Air Force Colonel it makes it more real.

He would have actually seen the bombings, death and misery of war. He also would know how hard it would be to readjust to civilian life especially the Hollywood fantasy factory So like his character Lee he would know what his fellow veterans were going through after the war, even with PTSD My Mom always denigrated Lana Turner's acting she wasn't a Better Davis but in this film I really liked her.

They didn't over glamorize her and you certainly can't imagine Marilyn being this down to earth a character.

It touched my heart and was impressed with Lana's acting even if the Hollywood critics of the era didn't like it.

I am usually pretty conservative with my ratings but this is different.

Not one second did I want to turn off the story is wonderful so believably incredible would have to be true.

Then to interweave with Shakespeare's Lear one of my favorite Shakespeare plays and one of the most difficult acting and story wise.

It just sort of gelled the story together maybe the bimbo girlfriend with the Spanish accent just sort of didn't work in a Shakespeare tragedy I highly recommend this film and I couldn't stop thinking of Shakespeare's tragedy of Lear- life, love, death,tragedy,deceit,love,friendship it completes a wonderful film.

I love the Roaring Twenties and this film epitomizes it The world of Jay Gatsby, flaming youth everyone with a cocktail in their hand despite it being Prohibition I love the production design, the drop waist skirts, geometric patterns, short skirts. The beautiful photography,framing, lighting.

I am a real Clara Bow fan(the IT girl) and we can see why Middle American men lusted after the IT girl, she was so daring and knew what she wanted in men.

It's sad that generations of Americans are forgetting these movies recreate an era of America that had just seen the worst War in history and America was now a super power. New morals, new fashions, new technology, world full of possibilities and Hollywood embraced it.

Seeing Gary Cooper so young and handsome is a real thrill not the old man of "High Noon", gossip said they Clara and him were lovers.

Hedda Hopper as the mother, the Hearst newspaper Hollywood gossip columnist as an actor is great to see because she was in so few films.

Divorce in those days was seen as a failure by people and was almost sinful that they broke their marriage vows so this film was shocking in its day considering divorce as just a career step for women.

If you haven't seen a silent film I recommend this one because it typifies the Hollywood of the Roaring 20's and is still enjoyable.

I really enjoyed this film but it is REALLY different and so nice to see an quirky, unhollywood written by a committee film. Don't watch this film if you're expecting a million laughs, it's satirical The production design is wonderful, the actors are awesome It is satirical in a subtle way showing how shallow and disparate we've all become in suburban lives.

Life is meaningless if we don't have the 'good life' and we ALL want this life.

There is no passion,diversity,anger or love it's just an existence that we live and this film is asking "where are we going?"

I love romcoms of the 30's,40's and 50's including the Doris Day/Rock Hudson comedy team. I love the Day/Hudson comedies because Doris is independent yet still falls for the guy. We laugh with them not at them But unfortunately this movie is beyond the pale in gender relationships,even Rock Hudson hated it. (Check trivia)

The man has to beat women,be dominate, can be killed for being unfaithful and so on. It's medieval. I don't laugh at those values I fast forwarded it because I was just choking and it's cruel, it's normal for a man to hate his mother I just can't bear it Don't watch if you like funny romantic humor.

This is what women should be aiming for in life. My late 95 year old mother said marriage is an economic arrangement. Financially independent women don't fall for 'romance' Like Rebel if you smart,successful why do you need to 'hang' on to a 'dream' man go for your best friend. Someone you love seeing and talking to,someone who makes you smile and laugh. Fat,bald,short or tall, sex isn't everything and you can buy it legally if you want. Looks fade It's fantastic to see non plastic surgery, botoxed women, Angelina can't move her face in close ups and THOSE lips. They'll explode if they have any more botox This film should be shown to young girls to stop dreaming the Cinderella complex that a married man is going to make them happy and all other women are going to be jealous because you have a husband and babies.

A life fulfilled is what women should be dreaming about not being married. As a person who identifies as male I hate being asked by women what do you do? Corporate lawyer(kaching), plumber(get lost) it's the only reason they ask. Why not your favorite book or play?

Great film, slow in parts but in the end entertaining and refreshingly different to romcoms.
