Ever brewed a cuppa and found the tea bag has split ?

Just got back from seeing this movie. It runs at a steady sometimes border line boring pace but always interesting, most of the film reminded me of when Quentin T has conversations in his movies. The only problem I have with this movie is the ending (Dont worry, no spoilers), it was as if the director said "OK everyone Im bored with this project, lets wrap it up now". The film is a well paced movie with an ending that if you blink you will miss it and to me that didn't make any sense and spoilt a good film. So in conclusion a fab movie with a crumby rushed ending that I am still trying to work out. Also, I couldn't help wonder if KFC enjoyed the little bit of free promotional work this film does for their company ;)

Good Enough

Although I found this film amusing I must say that the series did bore me after a while which I think tainted my Inbetweeners Movie Experience.

Much of the same but more of it for longer. In my opinion a necessary step forward for the slightly stale TV series but due to the 'same old' antics in the TV series the movie feels as if we have been there, seen that & done that all before.

Strangely though I did find it watchable on a stuff your face with pop corn and don't think to hard sort of level. The movie carries you along with the occasional bad taste joke thrown in for good measure.

So in conclusion what ever you feel about the TV series will probably be your feelings of the movie. You could do a lot worse but I like something a bit more original.

A breath of fresh air (Literally)
15 September 2011
Having seen the more popular and might I say average to poor movies at the present time like Inbetweeners, Cowboys & Aliens & Final Destination 5 I wasn't planning to go to the cinema anytime soon. I just happened to catch a very short advert for ALPTD on the TV and checked it out on IMDb. Having a good review score we decided to go see it. To my surprise only one out of three cinemas was showing this movie and on arrival noticed the lack of people in the theatre (Three couples including us). I started to think that we had made a wrong choice. How wrong I was. The sheer scale of the opening scene was breath taking and really drew us in ready for the rest of the film. The pace of the film was perfect and the element of surprise was always there. There were 1 or 2 minor continuity errors but these were cleared up within the next few minutes. The level of violence was just right for a film like this not being glamorised or pornographied. I have to point out also that the child abuse issue is handled very well and the bar is set at what may be considered to be a 'comfortable movie level' (if there is such a thing), it could have been a lot worse but the director clearly has morals and making it quite clear it is not that type of film although it could have quite easily been. The excitement runs consistently throughout and the music/sound effects add to the overall excitement. Although a few of the actors are slightly wooden this is quickly and cleverly counter acted/covered up by the good ones and fast passed action. Good story, cleverly layed out in a gorgeous but deadly setting. Who could ask for more.

Well the trailer was good

Firstly I would like to say that I loved this movie but unfortunately I didn't. Before I start I cannot understand why a dull and serious movie of this type would have a fun name like 'Cowboy and Aliens'. Admittedly it wasn't what I expected. I think I was expecting it to be along the lines of a tongue in cheek Bruce Campbell movie. But hey, I like to be surprised so what was the actual movie like? Well from start to the finish it was given the opportunity to make something of itself but decided to be a slacker. Daniel Craigs performance was below average to say the least such was Harrison Fords, as for the rest of the cast they were just insignificant. The plot I have to say was consistent but empty. There were points in the movie I sat up and thought 'this is it' and all too soon 'it wasn't'. The end was like two different films pasted together and to be honest I didn't care about either of them. On leaving the cinema I over heard an over enthusiastic father say to his child 'So what did you think about that?' to which he replied 'Rubbish'. I think that comment says it all. Would I recommend it to a friend 'No'. Would I watch it again 'No'. Do I wish I had gone to see something else 'Yes'.
