This is not a great Bond movie, it's not even a great action movie! There are elements which had potential - a good opening sequence boded well - but a poorly written script, a lack of chemistry between the main characters, and poorly crafted villain disappointed through to the inevitable and tension-free climax.

Watchable

Impressed with Kaley. Cuoco's performance which held the series together, and overall it was watchable! Some of teh characters were either dreadfully written, or poorly acted, but remove the imbecilic FBI agents, the petulent best friend and pathetic big brother and the whole series would have been far more enjoyable (IMO).

Disappointing

I don't care a lot for this movie! An interesting story idea ruined by a poor script and dreadfully wooden acting. Totally lacking tension and humour throughout.

Simply Dreadful

Awful script with only a couple of jokes hitting the mark. The phyisical comedy worked on a couple of occasions - but that was about it. And as for Adam Sandler's voice...not sure what that was all about but we had to switch on subtitles otherwise we wouldn't have understood a word of his mumbling. Really wanted to like it - but it failed to produce despite a fairly stellar cast.

A season too far!

Great acting, particularly by Gillian Anderson, has carried this series despite some fumbling writing at times. After watching the first two episodes of season three I'm thinking that I might give the remainder of this season a miss as the storyline is starting to get increduluous.

Woeful

Tried desperately to enjoy it - but the wooden acting, dreadful characters and disjointed narative lead to a channel change half way through.

A classic it is not...

What a shame! After looking forward to this adaption I was left feeling empty and unsatisfied. Such was the lack of tension - half the family were sat eyes closed and snoring midway through this borefest. I couldn't feel any empathy towards any of the characters, and the story thread was weak. The special effects were equally weak. It's a shame that the scriptwriter felt the need to turn a classic sc-fi story into a dreadful three-part politically-correct soap opera.

Original and beautifully crafted drama

It took a few episodes before I was gripped by this intelligent and well-scripted drama. A fantastic musical score adds to the ever-present foreboding and the plot twists like a tornado through the heartland of America. Always thought-provoking and constantly gripping. It won't be everyone's cup-of-tea but you'll know 3 or 4 episodes in if you want to watch more.

Great if you turn the sound off!
10 May 2015
Watching this film could have been an enjoyable experience if only we'd turned the sound off! The incessant warbling of badly written lyrics to a repetitive melody had the whole family sighing every time a cast member opened their mouth to sing. I watched the film with my four children aged 8,10,12 and 14 and without exception they all shared the pain. The story had potential and there was a reasonable job of knitting together several fairy-tales into a single narrative. James Corden has to take great credit for a strong performance and Meryl Streep tries her best to overcome the hurdle of a terrible musical score.

Ultimately, it was like watching Grimm's Fairy Tales by Karaoke - not a winner for me I'm afraid.
