Uncut Gems (2019)

it all blends perfectly - i am surprised!
12 June 2020
Didnt touch this movie for quite a time, cause i had false expectations of the film.. i thought it´s going to be a stressy, rush with lots of quick cuts, handy cam style movie where he gets chased nonstop etc..

but this movie is really not bad, i would even say its really good! was really surprised in a positive way.

the story got me right from the beginning, as well as the characters. multiple strings attached to one man which appears to be Adam Sandler who plays his role absolutely brilliant in my opinion.

shady half wrecked jewish juwellery dealer who gets himself into trouble over moeny and his gambling habbit.

the movie has its slow moments as well as his fast but i never felt i was rushed through it or giving to much input / stress. No it flows very well and keeps us on our toes.

another great thing in my eyes was the music. some find it not fitting but i think it was perfect for certain scenes and it underlined the atmosphere/mood perfectly.

they play with the audience even there´s not something of a real twist to the story, but i found myself couple of times guessing the wrong and was happy that i was wrong.

i may watch it another time soon and can just recommend it! great movie, great Adam Sandler, great Soundtrack, great ending!

People never change
31 May 2020
Diseres, longings, fears, hopes, love, drama..is timeless and well converted into this movie. c´est la vie.. and its presented in a very human and honest way..one could even say "simple" but isnt life very simple? tho we make it complex in every possible moment.. holding your dear love in your arms, what else do you need? riding your bicycle downhill on a sunny day in your shorts, smelling the rich and aromatic flavours of nature carried by the wind..what else do you need?

sometimes the sky is blue, the water is wet and i really like your eyes. sometimes the truth is very easy and this movie understands it in a very human and real way to transport the message.

characters are melancholic but still understand the joy of life by not giving up, and there´s even humor in its sadness time to time.

sure, the times were different and people had more roughness in their lifes.. people live and people die, thats life.

and everybody understands what love is and when seeing joy of other people, they grant them their happiness, even they´re strangers.

but some people just have got ambitous vanity and wont grant other people happiness.

i really liked this movie

Star Trek: Enterprise (2001–2005)

Underrated !
8 April 2019
I´ve to admit, i never watched any star trek series when it was released back in the days.. now 20years later and thanks to netflix and such, i was curious about star trek.. i watched them all in chronological order..(except TOS) next gen was just amazing..picard and his crew with unique characters amazed me. so i was already boosted and ready to take on the star trek journey.

deep space nine compared to next gen was a bit clunky and sisko as a captain was so wooden..never warmed up with him..

voyager, finally fresh air and a moving space ship..janeway was good and the storyline satisfied me as well..

after voyager i was a bit afraid to start with enterprise cause all my friends who were a bit star trek "fans" since the beginning, reacted to me like "hmm well...yeah.. you know...hmm" while asking them about enterprise and archer..

you ask them about next gen you get a "wooow the best! watch it!"

you ask them about deep space nine "yeah also nice not as good as next gen obviously but yeah go watch it its nice!"

you ask them about voyager you get "nice story man! abandoned unexplored space, so far away from home! but yeh..female captain and chekotay as 1.commander..hmm but still great!"

and then comes this "hmm well..enterprise..hmm..archer..hmm...yeh it also has only 4seasons..you know why..but yeah..you can watch it if u like"..

i still did..and the beginning was hard..i was pampered with the nice/luxury style look of the series before.. even the suits looked to me like some amateur b-movie stuff..

i have to admit, it was really hard for me to sympathize with the crew and settings..

but i stayed strong and i am so happy about it! Archer is after Picard my 2nd favorite star trek captain and the imagination of the first human farout space ship technology and crew. everything is more industrial, more rough and tough..no shiny white luxury liner space ship from future series..

the series is totally worth to be watched and i cant understand why people say Archer was the worst captain.. i would place the serious right after next gen and way before ds9..

this deserves more recognition! a great crew with a great captain on a great mission! 9/10 for me

like the original one - just worse
9 March 2019
Feels a little bit like the original first part of the series..just totally worse.. i mean, the last parts were sooooo bad, that now when u release a new part thats not sooo bad you feel a little bit happy..what doesnt change the fact that this part is still an underaverage movie..dispite the fact we got a superior cast..but the movie doesnt offers anything new..its repetitive.. orlando bloom and keira knightley just got replaced by 20yrs younger couple..still the same story.. and johnny depp is just a shadow of his own..rolling eyes and slapstick doesnt make a movie..

all this cgi crap..nothin feels real anymore.. and this cheesiness..and the ending..man..

you can watch this movie if you dont expect anything..then u can get some minor entertainment factor.

hollywood just gets so uninteresting..no more storytelling no nothing..just mainstream cgi fireworks and cgi faces in a cgi world..

well...
20 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I just watched 1ep of 2nd season and..i mean, i dont care about women in leading roles..but.. we get introduced to a new (male) captain..he seems like a cheap copy of a 50s comic character..stereotype idiotic quotes from him.. surrounded by clever, intelligent, brave women to handle everyting.. right on the flight in the small vessels to the asteroid, the 2nd male is ignorant with a big ego and just crashes into an asteroid ,right after argueing with michael (who is a woman with a male name), she warned him.. then a fragment hits the vessel of the new captain..he gets saved by female michael and the women from the discovery bridge..quote:"can we do it ladys!? - Yes!"... getting onto the asteroid into the star fleet crashed ship, they bump into an engineer who just managed to save all the officers in some stasis-like state..including medical support (brain surgery, heart transplantation, etc..). and the engineer is also a woman.. while trying to escape the ship and transport the injured unconscious officers, all the women take part and action in clever actions, like programing the transport sequence, installing energy transport sources and such.. while our male captain, well, he uses his muscles to open a broken door and fix it with a big pipe he jams into the door.. neanderthal hello..

and not to forget our homo-sexual discovery engineer who is in sadness due to the death of his lover. he gets into a conversation with tilly, another leading woman..

c´mon..when will this stop? star trek has always been a pioneer in open minded and clever approaches and i loved´em all.. janeway was a great female captain in voyager..same for 7of9,b´elanna torres, etc.. this is not a hurt male ego on the search for maskulinity..

but what the heck..stop this gender/ feminism / lgbgtq / twisted reality stuff. when 80% are clever females and 10% are clever homosexuals and 10% are the stupid stereotype muscle no brainer males..

boring
5 August 2018
I dont know why this movie is hyped and considered as one of the best thrillers ever made..

i found it pure boring.. one or two times something like light excitement catched me, just to be gone a few moments later..

watching this movie 50years ago might be a highlight at that time..

i am not missing action or something..i was missing a real story.. everything is so shallow in this movie..

great movie - so underrated
8 July 2018
Just watched it and even 14years later it aged very well. cant understand why this movie got so many bad critics.. this is a nice dystopian, fantasy, sci-fi, film noir alike action movie.

i like the style of the necromongers who could just jumped out of a hr giger sketchbook, the parts with the mercenaries, the prison planet, the visuals, the cast, the atmosphere, the story..

the end is also very nice and its so sad that due its bad critics it couldnt make quiet enough money at the box offices to convince the studios of a big budget thrid part..this could go so well..

nothing against part 3, but you know what i mean..

overall its a solid 8 in my eyes. go watch it!
