Merry Little Batman (2023)
The Christmas Batman Move we Deserve
A very fun and well made movie! It's the right amount of comedy and heart and Batman action. An original story with fun references all the way through for hard-core Batman fans. But at the same time just enjoyable Christmas movie with warm fuzzy feeling for all! All the voice actors fit the their roles perfectly, and the interpretation of their characters is spot on for what it is, and yet true to the comic books. This is obviously made by people that are true fans of Batman and had a clear and deliberate story to tell and everything worked together, nothing was wasted and the pacing was fantastic, and you knew you were in good hands as you watch! Enjoy!
Jupiter's Legacy (2021)
Fun show, worth a watch once
If you are a fan of superheroes this is a fun show with a great design, very well executed. But just lacking in the story department, not a bad story, just nothing special.
The Umbrella Academy (2019)
Keeps getting better and better
One of the few shows I can say the second season is every bit as good if not better than the first season.
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017)
This movie does not get enough credit.
As far a sci-fi adventure films this is one of the best. Very original and inventive and just a fun ride.
Onward (2020)
Pixar has done it again.
After all these years, Pixar is still a master of the storytelling craft. I have grown up with these movies and in so many ways I feel they have grown up with me, they continue to find ways to pull at our heartstrings.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Very Satisfying
Having grown up with Star Wars in my life, loving the original trilogy as a young child. Then being there opening night for the prequels as a teenager. This was a satisfying conclusion. I will sleep well tonight.
Captain Marvel (2019)
The Marvel Movie we have been Needing.
This movie has all the charm, fun, and adventure we have come to expect from Marvel movies but also has a great message, and is the female lead that we need. The power and strength that Brie Larson brings to the character is not forced but naturally confident. And puts her in the rightful position to her male supporting cast, as the hero of her own story.
Admittingly I am not all that familiar with Captain Marvel from the comics. But having said that I can not tell you how refreshing it is to see her introduced in this movie without being a standard "origin story." In the writting a unique balance was found to tell her origins without the same old boring starting at the beginning of her life linier evolution of the hero gaining their powers, where we don't get to see any true action until the last 30 mins of the movie. This movie jumps right into the action and we as the audience learn more and more about her as she does in the context of the story.
And finally it begins to bridge the gap quite nicely in the Avengers story line.
