Klienten (2022)
Best plot I've seen in a while
Great plot twists. Very intelligent. Everything plausible. Things very hard to find in a movie these days. I'm not a psychologist but I felt like the way the therapy session developed had a very authentic feel but at the same time was exciting and interesting. It's a stark contrast with the average movie today that appears to target a 14 yr old audience.
People say that it's very gruesome and it does have some parts but much less than other movies, and it's only a few short scenes.
I don't usually like thrillers but it's because most are garbage and have huge flaws. Thrillers like this I could watch on a regular basis. The ending in particular was very good but there wasn't really a dull moment.
Last Night in Soho (2021)
The end ruined ir.
Was a good movie until she tries to save the serial killer that just poisoned and slashed her. I don't know why they always feel the need to inject these insane liberal concepts into movies.
Queen & Slim (2019)
Horrible writing
First movie I couldn't finish in years. I love movies. This is horrible. A cop commits aggravated assault on 2 people right in front of his dash cam. They have to kill him in self defense. Then one of them, which happens to be a lawyer, decides they should flee the scene even they they had no weapon or motive to kill the cop, other than self defense. And it just keeps being horrible from there...
Get Out (2017)
Could have been written by a 10 yr old.
This is the worst movie I've seen in several years at least. The movie starts off slow but somewhat interesting. As soon as the plot gets going 30 minutes into the movie it's just completely ridiculous. If you know anything about hypnosis or basic logic you won't be able to watch this movie. The writer doesn't even attempt to makes sense or isn't capable of doing so. My girlfriend and I both had enough after 30-40 minutes. In the past 30 years this is maybe the 3rd movie I couldn't watch till the end.
The Guilt Trip (2012)
More depressing than funny
They managed to make Seth Roegan rude and annoying. Not an easy task. Most of his movies are great. Watching him verbally abuse his mom for 90 min and fumble through his meetings was simply unpleasant. He constantly makes bad decisions and says the wrong things in ways that just aren't funny. I guess there are people really like this but I don't want to watch a movie about them.
The humor was rarely clever or unpredictable. There are very few movies I would rate less than 5 but this one makes the list. Maybe it's more geared toward a female audience.
Towards the end it gets a little better but not enough to make up for the rest of the movie.
