The Signal (2007)
Above my expectations
I rated this 10/10 because it has some great theoretical foundation ("media making people zombies") unlike countless others that make zombies out of vampires ("The Strain"), drinking contaminated water, etc.
This movie also has good comedy elements too of "walking dead" sitting and watching the T.V. In one short sentence - "shut up and watch your T.V." Reminds me old old idea of Jack Kerouac "hating" people behind windows that emit blue.
As Eastern European I see how this movie is done in reality, in Russia. A lot of people there are now like crazy zombies shouting with rage about "Putin for world President".
Movie even offers solution for such zombism - to think with our own independent head and make choice to discern hallucinations from reality. Well, this movie can be understood not by kids, sorry.
Steve Jobs: The Lost Interview (2012)
True visionary
I've read "Steve Jobs", an authorized biography, by Walter Isaacson and for me this interview cover most of aspects of this remarkable visionary. It spans through almost all of history of high-tech, telling us about things that we use without noticing them in our life today as extensions of our human being.
I've seen "jOBS" which I rated 7/10 because it didn't mentioned "the little blue box" which is very important as Steve Jobs is telling in this interview was one of things he remembered for life - even small things can empower small people with capability to rule billions worth of industries. And it is true, everything that is big grows from even smallest things. Visionary is a person who can see those small things that will change our life in the future.
Steve Jobs was first to see the importance of GUI, mouse, desktop publishing, the internet, computers for schools. He had changed our life.
The Vampire Diaries (2009)
A copy of True Blood's
I was watching Vampire diaries until fourth season when suddenly I was vomited out from this teen BS. I have noticed almost everything that happened in HBO's True Blood which was started year earlier was followed by this TV show almost exactly. Waitress was changed by some dumb high school girl. The main vampire character was copied to some problematic vampire that looked The Twilight Saga long-lasting eye ganders.
Also, end of seasons was so drawn-out with BS and one of character's scream that took more than minute, that was the last straw of mine of these idiotic "teen drama" series. I have put TV show into trash. Also, no people (creators) behind this almost copied story listed. In my humble opinion it clearly shows no name wants to associate with this piece of "work".
