Boiling Point (2023)
I want to see more!
Absolutely love that they brought a series after the film! Anyone who works in hospitality knows how accurate this series is. Just binged all 4 episodes.
I particularly liked how it dived into the individual characters showing a bit about their backgrounds.
It might not be for everyone and that's ok, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but for me personally I've always wanted to see a series about the hospitality trade and Boiling Point ticks all the boxes.
Very similar every day situations to what it's really like. It's not just about cooking, waiting on tables or pouring pints! Long may it continue. Great job!
The Batman (2022)
Saw meets a gritty Dark Knight.
I was very surprised when I heard Robert Pattinson would be dawning the cape but it did not disappoint. 3 hours just flew by! I'm not saying it's better or worse than previous Batman movies, it just seemed to fit for the 'now'. I definitely enjoy seeing a darker much angrier and troubled version of Bruce and Batman. The music fitted perfectly and you can 100% see that Pattinson based his Bruce Wayne look on Kurt Cobain. The bat mobile/muscle car firing up was one of my most favourite scenes and sounded great in the isense cinema. Paul Dano's Riddler is far from the days of Jim Carey's comedic (still great) Riddler, but more reminding me of Jigsaw from the Saw movies. I really felt there was good chemistry between Selina Kyle and the Batman executed by Zoë Kravitz nicely. I would have liked to see a little more of Colin Farrells unrecognisable Penguin but I feel it definitely won't be the last time and we will be seeing him again in the future. Also outstanding performances from Andy Serkis and Jeffrey Wright. I look forward to seeing more of this films, should it happen.
