All the Light We Cannot See (2023)
Do not watch if you read the Book!
What an absolute tragedy of an adaptation of a fantastic book! The book and its story is journey of characters wonderfully told from start to finish! If you have read the book and loved it as much as I, please save yourself and don't read this book - so much was missing, so much (needlessly) was changed! The cut and the way it was told (mostly the end of the story, with many changes) a travesty! It should have been told from start to finish, to allow you to fall in love with all stages of Marie's life and to give Werner the journey he deserved! Anthony Doerr must be shattered with the result! Thankfully we can always re-read this book and hopefully forget this series!
The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart (2023)
Disappointed in the changes from the Book
I rushed to read the book before the series came out, and the book, as always, is so much better in telling the enriching story of Alice.
It's only 3 eps in and it better get better and for crying out loud give us more dialogue, aside from Alice there was a lot of dialogue between the characters in the book which is sadly missing
Firstly where is the dog at Thornfield, the dog was such at important character for Alice and all at the farm and it is missing and desperately needed!
But the biggest crime, the BS exaggerated and over blown Sarah storyline - just because it's Asher - her character is at the start and end, that's all. Very disappointing as this is not what the story is about at all!
I hope it gets better as I'm so disappointed in this adaptation so far.
Gilmore Girls: Ted Koppel's Big Night Out (2003)
Lorelei needs to grow up
I am in the middle of rewatching this series and wow, I never realised when I originally watched this how amazingly immature, annoying and incredibly selfish Lorelei is and this episode brings it to the forefront! If it is not on her terms she is a brat! She crashed the footy game and then destroyed everyone around her, Jason takes her on a lovely date and she throws her toys out of the pram as it is not something she likes! Lorelei doesn't grow up at all! The sad thing is I know it doesn't get better. I spent the original time watching this hating Lorelei's parents, but rewatching it, yes they are still bad but Lorelei never grows up!
Partner Track (2022)
Horrible lead characters
Ingrid and Jeff are just appalling, I hope neither of them become partner! Badly casting of these two, cheesy writing (they always find something new every 2 seconds) and crap acting ! The whole competitive thing with these two is kindergarten crap & way over the top, not to mention zero chemistry! Rachel and Tyler, these two are awesome I wish the show was angled towards these two more. One has to ask, does no one own a computer, always with the paper! Even the arrogant side characters are more exciting to watch than the leads! I will try another couple eps, but I agree with the poor reviews here and on other sites!
A Million Little Things: Just in Case (2022)
New storylines please..
This show is starting to drag with repetitive storylines, the only character worth watching is Gary, but seriously enough with the cancer - between him & Maggie it's too much! Just give us one positive, happy storyline & seriously do Eddie & Gary actually work? In fact does Eddie actually do anything except make poor decisions, if his character left the show he wouldn't be missed! I love Katherine & Greta, please don't ruin this as I'm sure you will over do Greta's Bi-polar next season!
Yellowstone: Keep the Wolves Close (2021)
This season is just pure soap drama crap
Season 4 has zero quality storylines - like a lot of others have said, it is all over the place! A season like this could ruin this show! I hope the Duttons loose the farm just to see Beth get what is coming to her! Beth has zero redeemable qualities, and someone please explain why on earth the kid had to apologise to her - Beth is just a psychotic selfish b***ch! As for the 'arse cancer' line, the writers should be sacked & the actress should be gone for showing zero integrity agreeing to say it! It's clear the writers have no idea how to write for a strong woman! Enough with people treating Jimmy like crap, and give Jamie some frikken back bone against his family without being manipulated by his murderous father! Let's move on with the same story line - someone wants to take their land!
The Woman in the Window (2021)
Just bad
Wow, that was just a horrifically bad adaptation of a good book! Within the first 15 mins as I was already wondering how much time left - the good, Julianne Moore - her minor part was memorable. Everything else - sorry, but WTAF! I love Amy Adams, but this was not a great performance or perhaps, sadly she was miscast, it was very forced and overdone. But the worst things about this movie - the "conversations", the horrific music (the music was so bad!!) and the muted colour schemes!
The Prom (2020)
Almost perfect
I loved everything about this .... except James Corden! If Andrew Rannells played Barry it would have been perfect (Andrew was wasted in this movie)! Meryl was amazing (as always), Nicole - boy the actress can act, pure perfection! It was just 2 hours of smiling and fun
Little Fires Everywhere (2020)
Not great at all!
As a reader of the book, I will admit I wasn't overly impressed with the book, the writing was poor at times with no relatable characters, I was hoping the show might be better! Unfortunately it was worse, every character is just horrible, every performance is over acted - I really wish Reese would stop playing a horrible character in her shows and Kerry Washington's performance was wooden and the worst thing in the show! I did not finish the series as I just couldn't get past the horrific acting and surprised it rated this high.
Ad Astra (2019)
Waste of 2 hours
Not sure what the ultimate point of this movie was! We were really looking forward to it, Brad Pitt and space ... should be good right, no! There is a ridiculous amount of voice overs - when you actually got to see real conversations scenes it was enjoyable! This movie leaves you flat with many unanswered questions, boring dialogue and not great acting.
