Simple is beautiful
This movie is so touching and endearing. I have to say, I was moved to tears. Not tears of joy, or sadness, I'm not sure what they were. Maybe tears of empathy for the main character. To find the purest distillation of what truly makes us happy in life and to live in that joy is so warming to the soul. There is very little conversation in this move so don't worry about subtitles, you can just watch and enjoy. My wife loves this movie, she won't watch anything she has to read. I mean NOTHING. She had recommended this movie to probably everybody she knows. And that's the best review I can give this movie.

Quite possibly one of the finest movies I've ever seen.
This won't be long. I'm in awe. Probably the greatest war film I've ever seen. There are scenes in this movie that drew emotions from me that I was shocked to find. It will simultaneously show you the horrors of war and the scope of determination. A perfect film.
Goemon (2009)
I Love This Movie
I really really like this movie. I have read most of the reviews about this movie and I disagree with a lot of them. This movie to me is more about the fantasy than the action. There are certainly better examples of CGI and there are some better special effects in other movies, but as a sum of its parts, this movie is fantastic. With multiple viewings it gets even better. The story is very robin hood, but don't think that you have seen this before. The pacing is pretty consistent throughout the movie and I never felt that the scenery, script, or characters did not all mesh very well together. Very lighthearted and fun, I recommend this movie to fans of milder anime and who can enjoy movies like Kung Fu Hustle or A Chinese Oddyssey. Dig those? You will really enjoy Goemon.

Whoa
Probably the perfect movie. I have watched many films and when I rented this through Netflix so many years ago I immediately called every like-minded movie loving friend I had and watched it again. This movie has probably done more to introduce American people to Asian cinema than any film I know. The story is intense, the movie never lets up. You are literally held in this movies grip until the credits roll. The acting is phenomenal, the story is so original, the ending is unexpected and after a second viewing, it is perfect. Just watch this movie, you will not be disappointed. And make sure to watch it in the original language, dubbing would destroy this film. Next to Silence of the Lambs, I don't think there is any comparison to the quality of this movie. As a matter of fact, go buy this movie, watch it, and be prepared to be amazed and ruined for most movies you will watch after this. Hollywood, you need to take lessons, this is a film for movie watchers, not for the 13 year old theater frequenting American public.
