Don't Look Up (2021)
Cleverer than it appears
This film addresses many of the problems we have in society and the difficulties in getting through the vacuous nonsense people think are important in their lives, with actually IS important. If you didn't like this film, the likelihood is that you represent or covet the vacuous nonsense.
Tenet (2020)
The Emperor's Film
Anyone giving this close 10/10 is deluded. I teach science and have a fairly decent grasp of the laws of thermodynamics, but this was way too complicated. The sound was terrible and by the end I had forgotten certain key points about the algorithm that wrapped the film up (mainly how the algorithm brought about the end of the world and needed to be buried - still non- plussed). You shouldn't need a notebook in a film. I think that the poor sound quality, length and unnecessary complicated plot are designed for people to watch it a second time...? Well, it won't be me.
The Walking Dead: Lines We Cross (2019)
The Walking Dull
This show really has fallen by the way. This limping, rotting empty corpse of a show needs a spike through the skull.
Don't let this fester like The Simpsons where it ambles along because it makes money. Get new writers in, and give it a new lease of life or, for all our sakes, kill it off.
You (2018)
Dull, slow and uninteresting
This feels like a very protracted (10 hours) part of Groundhog Day where Murray tries to get Andi McDowell character to fall in love with him. He uses the social media instead of a loop day to learn about her and ingratiate himself into her life.
The difference is, this is rubbish.
I have watched 3 episodes and have not found a connection with a single character. Beck deserves everything that comes to her and the rest of the cast are either shallow or wet. The end of my journey with 'you' ends here. Ciao.
The Haunting of Hill House: The Bent-Neck Lady (2018)
Outstanding
Possibly the best hour of television or cinema I have seen in a long time. Beautifully crafted story building to a terrifying crescendo.
