Toy Soldiers (1991)
Boys Gone Wild!!!!
Quite honestly when I first saw Toy Soldiers I was 12 years old, so I was gaga over the boys. Now when I watch it I think it was one of the few teen thrillers that was well made. It didn't degrade them or exploit them. The cast was stunning, the plot was good. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, not even close. It did keep me on my toes!!!! It's one of those movies that you can watch over and over again, and never get tired of it!!!! What is it about this movie that makes it so addicting? Somebody tell me, please. I'll give it 3 stars. A big one just for Sean Astin. I love ya Sean! I recommend Toy Soldiers for a Girl's night movie. Eat your popcorn and drool.
All About Eve (1950)
Hands down the best movie ever
It doesen't get any better than ALL ABOUT EVE. The most incredibly talented cast in the history of cinema. One of the best directors ever, and flawless producers. To think that All about Eve was only a small story in the newspaper, makes it even better! This is Bette Davis at her best, but honestly I don't think she can do no wrong. Anne Baxter, Celeste Holm, and Gary Merril were absolutely wonderful. The true powerhouses of this film are Bette, George Sanders, and Thelma Ritter. With every movement, word, and smile you are completely wrapped up in this classic. Less we forget that this small movie received a whopping 11 Academy Awards nominations. ALL About Eve is number one!!!!
Social Misfits (2001)
un-freakin-believable!!!!
The best cast of young stars in the history film. I was blown away by the acting, plot, and cinematography. This movie tells the truth about what is it like to be a teenager. It tackles every issue of todays youth. Each star is vibrant, brilliant, and stunning. I had seen each one of these actors long ago, and was impressed by them. I'd hope they would have another good break, and I think that this is a hell of a breakthrough. I was floored by Tyrone Tann's work of art, and acting. I'd have to say that Social Misfits is my favorite movie! Brilliant, powerful, provocative, and real. Two thumbs way,way up!!!!!!!!!!!
MOVIE LINE: "Camp Ressurection existed, but only in my mind!"
Igby Goes Down (2002)
If heaven is such a wonderful place then why is getting crucified such a big deal?
After seeing The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys I had to run out and see this movie. After I viewed it I gave it a standing ovation of capturing the true angst of my generation. Igby is the realistic depiction of the average teenager. Kieran Caulkin was the perfect Igby. He could show you anguish wihout saying a word. The director of course is a genius already, but I was blown away by this movie. Finally a solid view of teen angst. The entire cast was incredible, the story was flawless. IGBY IS UP in my BOOK!!!!
