Legend (2015)
A well made movie quite historically accurate.
Tom Hardy playing two characters - amazing! The movie is set in the East End of London. We find out, that one of the main characters is gay - good for him.
It's really beautiful that it's narrated by Francis who, even after she dies half way through, continues narrating the film.
[Rec] (2007)
The most terrifying movie I've ever seen
I've just seen this move and I'm stun. When the movie was over my friend and I just kept sitting there, staring at the screen and not saying a word.
I didn't know much about the movie, except for that I've seen Los Sin Nombre before and found it quite scary, so I decided to watch it without looking at the back cover of the DVD. What I've seen, has surprised and terrified me. I won't tell much but that the movie made the girls I was watching with scream and wine and the guys cramp into the couch.
After the movie we needed to watch an episode of SpongeBob to cool down.
The only reason I'm not giving Rec a 10 is that I've watched it in German and the dubbing was annoying somehow. I have no Idea what the movie is like in Spanish, but the acting looked far better than the dubbing sounded.
Silent Hill (2006)
The new Hellraiser
Silent Hill is a fantasy horror movie, with emphasis on both words. If you like horror movies, you'll love this one. If you liked Hellraiser, you're probably gonna enjoy it even more.
The comparison to Hellraiser shouldn't imply that Silent Hill is some kind of remake, but there are a lot of similarities regarding locations and characters. Nevertheless, Silent Hill is a genuine and uniquely cruel horror movie. The story telling makes some unexpected changes in style along the plot which is quite refreshing. The dark passages soak you into the screen and keep you staring. Also, the movie makers had a sense for details, even humorous ones (and I've never played the game).
I really had a lot of fun watching this one.
PS: OK, the comparison to Hellraiser does not hold because Silent Hill is not as suited for a sequel as Hellraiser.
Yakkity Yak (2002)
Couldn't stop watching
I've never heard about this cartoon before because Nickelodeon shows it at hours I don't watch TV (i.e. too early). Yesterday I accidentally zapped into it and immediately liked it.
Usually I'm more into cartoons meant for grown-ups (Rocko, Ren & Stimpy, Simpsons, Futurama, Cow & Chicken and so), but I also do like stuff like Spongebob. Yakkity Yak seems to have children as a target group, but the humor is quite "sophisticated" for that. Not only that the verbal jokes are funny, but also the drawings are silly enough to make my flat mate laugh who isn't into cartoons at all.
I guess I'll be spending more time at noon in front of the TV the next weekends to watch this one.
Crimen ferpecto (2004)
Fast and funny.
I Just can't get enough of this. I watched this movie alone the first time, then I showed it to my flat mates. Now I'm looking forward to the next time friends visit me so I can watch this movie again with them.
The thing I liked most about this movie was the extremely smooth way of telling the story. As the movie started, I almost immediately got sucked into the story by the hypnotic, yet very funny way of displaying the plot. Not only the script or the acting, but also camera, light, sound and editing - all aspects of the movie presentation where thoughtfully placed and dozed to make up the right mix for a really well made movie.
The way of telling the story is almost a story for itself. The sequence of the scenes performs twists of its own, the way they are filmed and edited adds a whole new level, a sub plot so to speak. The scene presentation, the "image", plays an important role and I'd say it's the most grave factor that makes this movie unique.
The pace of the movie (regarding the story telling style, not the plot itself) slows down towards the end to leaves space for more roughness and suspense.
I really hope to see much more of Alex del la Iglesia in the future because what I got to see yet is always getting even better.
8 out of 10.
The Order (2003)
Pretty boring
I'll start with what I liked about this movie. I think it has a great main story which could have made a cool creepy version of The Name of the Rose if it had played in around 1300.
But it hadnt. This takes me to the parts I didn't like. The characters are unbelievable and the situations they get in make no sense. The basic plot has been heavily overloaded with strange sub plots and long, boring and repeating dialogs.
At half time I first thought about stopping the movie and going to bed but I just couldn't get off the couch.
Don't bother.

Black Past (1989)
One of the sickest movies I've seen....
As far as the story goes: Who cares! Some dark force captures someone who turns into some bad ass with a chain saw or something like that - exactly the kind of plot you need to show unnecessary violence and gore! Or better: GORE!!!!! Some sick stuff you can't put in a commercial movie because you wont be able to sell it anymore.
If you like splatter flics, watch this one uncut!
