Cute Movie
7 May 2023
First "action" movie I found myself literally cracking up laughing watching. Chris & Anna had great chemistry & comedic timing when called for. All Chris' Marvel Co-Stars putting in small appearances only added to the lightness of it.

I can, without a doubt, say I very much enjoyed this movie from beginning to end. Never at anytime was I bored, did I think I knew exactly how it would end and I was pleasantly surprised at how it did end.

I get it that this type "action" movie isn't for everyone. It certainly was not what I expected, but in no way did it keep me from enjoying the heck out of it. Some folks just take their "action" movies much too seriously, they really need to lighten up a bit and laugh more.

Creed III (2023)
6/10
Disappointed
6 April 2023
After having watched every Rocky & Creed movie up until this one, I knew where the stories were going. I knew the background, the players, the back stories & what was going to be the struggle(s). This storyline did not fall into those parameters & fell short of being the inspiration all the Rocky & Creed movies to this point always have been.

The choice to leave Rocky Balboa completely out of this story was a failure. He would've at least been there at the funeral. He was family after all. That Sly Stallone was not included nor consulted is downright sinful since any character with a Creed name began in his imagination from the first writing of Rocky.

Hollywood is so disrespectful in so many ways. So many seen to forget where they came from or where their stories came from originally. Michael B Jordan wouldn't have had an Adonis Creed to play much less a movie to direct had it not been for Sly Stallone to begin with. How quick he was to forget all that. Disappointing. I don't think I'll ever view him the same as an actor or man ever again.

I'm more than confused
24 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I realize they are using ALL of the books of Lestat and Louis to make this series and NOT just the first book, hence, the slight difference in the name. First, let me say, I've read EVERY book Anne Rice wrote even her erotica series (published under Anne Rampling). I've read EVERY Vampire & every Witch and all others which didn't fall into those categories like Sleeping Beauty & Exit to Eden among others.

After having clarified that and being several episodes in, I'm still confused by many liberties the screenwriters have taken. Neither character or story resembles (I'm not talking about race or time and place) the character or behaviors much I came to know and love so very much over the years.

I believe we're 5 or 6 episodes in now with Claudia being present and left then returned and what transpired afterwards. Maybe I need to go reread for the who knows because I've lost count how many times I've read the Lestat books (but definitely reread the Louis Claudia one). I know Lestat was very jealous and upset, but I don't recall him being to the point of killing Louis. However, I'm 60 years old now. My memory may not be what it used to be about it no matter how many times I've read it... I'm not giving up on the series. I want to see where it goes, pray it gets better and hope it gets more than one season.

Admittedly, I loved the Witches most of all. Their story drew me in and held me until I'd read every book and was getting the new ones pre order! I was late getting started on them due to reading up on all the solo vampire books which I did enjoy, but not as much as the Lestat series or Witches series. Blackwood Farm where they joined together was awesome for me! Seems I'm a real sucker for series instead of the individual vampire books.

I love period dramas...
24 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I really loved this one up to a point. The acting, music, lighting, all are very well done... Could not have been better.

What, in my opinion, could've been better, were the loose ends being tied up. What happened to Sugar and Sophie? To William? Why did they allow William to be so short sighted when it came to having a "male" heir when it was Sugar that literally saved his business and was running it 90% of the time? How could he have not have known Sugar was pregnant with his child when she was pregnant?

Even with class differences back then, there is the obvious and in this, some issues could have been overcome even then. The show missed the mark by a long way for me.

I realized at the end, the story was told in reverse but that still didn't make up for leaving so much untold. I'm this regard it was disappointing. I didn't read the book so I watched with fresh eyes. Maybe this was what left me disappointed in the end. Who's to say. I still gave it a 8/10 because it was great in most all other regards and is worth a watch for anyone who loves period pieces.

Crazy but..
8 September 2022
I've just now watched this movie! I have no idea why the reviews are so bad. Guess people do not love musicals or something. Did they expected Cruise to be in an action movie with Rock Music?

Anyways, I thought it very decent. Good story, good acting and props to Tom for learning to sing. It was not half bad. I am sure it was tweaked here and there. All the others sang beautifully as well as acted. And seriously you can always count on Russell Brand for great comic relief! I felt throughly entertained throughout the entire movie. Pacing was great. Cameos were fun. No lack of talent in this movie.

I love historical dramas!
5 September 2022
I so enjoyed the White Princess, White Queen & Red Queen about the Tudors and this just rather carries it onwards. Acting is great. Stories are great for Elizabeth & Mary. Hoping to see a lot of Mary's story also if this gets several seasons which it should because it's an awesome story before she became queen not to mention all the drama afterwards which has been addressed in movies.

Series can take more time telling the stories making them much richer even if they aren't as historically accurate. I'm a big history buff and inaccuracy used to bother me because people who weren't took these shows for fact. Like The Tudors for example which left out a very important Mary altogether because they felt the audience would be confused by too many Mary's among other major discrepancies. Then I remembered these are for entertainment, not history lessons. They take liberties to add drama here & there. The sweet additions made to the movie Lady Jane (best historical drama I've ever seen about Lady Jane Grey) were wonderful & made the movie more compelling.

I can't say enough good words about this series and I hope it continues on. There's a real hunger out there for historical dramas and this is a good one.

This Is Going To Hurt...
25 June 2022
I could not disagree more with southdavid's opinion that there's no more story to be told with these characters and their story. While it's mainly based on the book, these characters were fleshed out in the series (not documentary) to offer more. Each new and subsequent season could bring more character growth, new stories for them, new characters to engage with, etc. The American series ER, a fantastic medical drama based on an Emergency Room in a fictional ER, lasted 11 or more seasons telling medical stories with engaging lead characters people loved or hated, but were totally invested in. OB/GYN situations are fast paced, often exciting and sometimes critical as we saw in the first season. What's more beautiful than seeing a new life come into the world and the ease, complications or sometimes tradgic circumstances surrounding it? Many great seasons could follow without this ever becoming stale.

Disappointed
9 March 2021
There was a series of books I read, Mists of Avalon, along with another whose name I don't recall which the tale of Arthur was told from the women's perspective. A cheap movie was made years ago, but a series would've really done either books/series far more justice than this paultry show did. There's a real hunger this type series out there as well proven with GIT, but it had to be done well and need on good weekend which this isn't.

I am sick of one note Gustaf Skarsgard. This is very same acting and swagger he played as Loki in Vikings. It's been done, change it up.

Love these characters..
20 November 2019
I found myself really loving (or hating) these characters. Each week, as the story grew, I grew more invested. Each season it's drawn me in more and more emotionally. Never would have thought I'd love a show by the name of Harlots, but I've been wrong before...this is one of my very favorite.

Well worth the wait for those of us who loved the original movie.
1 September 2019
When I first heard this was in the works I had mixed emotions much like I did as a huge Tolkien fan when I first heard of them making movies of Lord of the Rings, the series of Game of Thrones ...I was afraid they wouldn't get it right. I was gladly surprised to realize they did magic with this Dark Crystal series.

It did not disappoint on any level. It stayed true to the movie we knew and loved and made it even better. If you've not seen the movie and you love fantasy, you should love this. It's a wonderful vibrant world, rich in history. The stories and plot are great. There's nothing not to love. If you have seen the movie, well, you won't be disappointed either because it remains true to the original story only gives it more history and depth (in my opinion).

I could not be more pleased in how this turned out. I'm thrilled with the results. I could only hope there will be a continuing series of post Dark Crystal (the Movie) in the land of Thra.

Love this series..
20 July 2019
I love this series. Acting was good. Locations and plot lines were good. Stayed interesting never lagged or slowed. All the characters were fleshed out fairly well. If you like period pieces very loosely based on history then you're likely to enjoy it. I'm a history snob normally, but I had 0 expectations of this being accurate so I found myself relaxed and enjoying the series the whole way and looking forward to the next season.

What can be said that's not already been said?
12 May 2019
HBO hit it out of the park with this. Stellar cast, stellar script & story based on the real Anne Lister who refused to be left behind in her time nor conform to what proper society thought a lady should be or do. Leaves one to wonder how many other brave women stepped up like she did, but didn't leave a diary behind or no one cared enough to save it for prosperitys sake, sadly. I'd hate to think she's the only one. Thank you HBO & BBC for bringing this to life. It's by far the best of period pieces we've had to choose from in a while...I applaude BBC for always getting behind great period pieces and HBO for supporting BBC this time round for bringing this wonderful series to fruition.

Great start..
23 September 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I absolutely loved this episode & the story lines. I'm a great fan of Sci-Fi and, sadly, there are no great, not even good, shows in this genre at present. I'd think with the millions of Sci-Fi fans, more shows would be on or in production. This was one with great story, good, solid actors and has/had much promise.

Other than Westworld (which I really don't consider "Sci-Fi"),there aren't any others out and Westworld's popularly should be an example of people wanting something less vanilla. I think had Amazon shot a full season instead of just a pilot, they would have realized just how many people are drawn to & love these type shows. Out of the box is risky, but I'd think it would have a better pay off than just another random vanilla series we're now overwhelmed with.

Hopefully, it's not buried.
