Rick and Morty: Fear No Mort (2023)
Season 7, Episode 10
10/10
More of this please

While Rick and Morty is now missing a story arch that they can focus on every so episode, it will be difficult to keep their audience long term. However this episode was a perfect example of why people love the show and what they need to do more of as they figure out their next 'big thing'. This is the type of episode that would never make the show dull. Funny and emotional at times but also makes you think. It was pretty funny that Rick and Morty in this episode were basically saying the things that we were thinking. Making it even more engaging as it felt like you were part of the show. This season did have a few misses but in my opinion more hits for sure. It's always great to end on a high note too. Overall I give season 7 an 8.5/10.

Skull Island (2023– )

I don't get the low ratings
24 June 2023
This show was a lot of fun to watch and had a lot of interesting characters in it. It had humor, great action and good writing. I think people wanted more Kong but honestly they did a great job of showing us all the other creatures on skull island. And unlike the movies, the people in the show are interesting.

If you go in with expectations of just seeing Kong fight a bunch of monsters every episode then yeah you may be disappointed. But if you keep an open mind I think anyone can enjoy this. That's not to say that they don't give him screen time as there are some awesome fights with Kong. Give it a chance.

Poor Narrator
16 October 2021
The narrator felt like a cheap imitation of the previous ones. It just felt forced. I loved both Donald Ian Black from season 1 and Danny Wallace from Season 2 onwards. I hope this was just temporary.

We get it! the humans aren't interesting...

But you really think it's financially feasible to have cgi monsters on for longer than what we saw? I for one didn't mind the humans as people don't seem to understand a plot IS needed. Even a bad one. Yes you pretty much have to ignore everything you know about every science discipline. But all the stupid crap was needed in order to have an excuse for the monsters to do their thing. That's how movies work.

All in all it gave me exactly what I wanted to see. Epic monster fights that gave me goosebumps. It's in the title, don't expect more than that (though you do actually get more). The movie is also well paced, rarely does it feel like it's dragging on. It probably helped that I watched in IMAX. If you have the choice then definitely go for it. I can't imagine a better movie suited for IMAX viewing.
