Season 1 was Superb!
24 May 2016
I loved the first season so much! Lots of strong female leads, intriguing plots, mystery and action. Watched the whole season on Netflix in like 3 days. Would highly recommend!

I started watching the second season and it's total @#)*@, imo. It's basically like a really confusing prequel. They totally cut out Tina Majorino, Ali Larter and Amber Valletta. Like all my favorite characters gone! The squad is dead and I am mad. It is just really dark and confusing, with no sense of friendship between the characters. I'm in 3 episodes (season 2), don't know if I will finish them...Huge disappointment.

Quantico (2015–2018)

Reality TV? Kinda. Decent spy drama nevertheless.

A lot of times this show feels like a reality TV show. Basically every episode they face some ridiculous challenge that the FBI concocts. The plots are predictably overdramatic. They make you think that someone is totally the evil terrorist and then 20 minutes later "oh, thank god you're not!" Then 3 episodes later, "omg you were the terrorist". Repeat this a couple dozen times with different characters.

Anyhow, regardless of this there are some characters that I'm totally invested in. I've watched all the episodes and have thoroughly enjoyed the series thus far. Not sure how long it'll be until I just get tired of it but it hasn't happened quite yet. Decent show overall.

Spooksville (2013–2014)

I am in love with this series!
11 September 2015
I admit it, I'm a total Spooksville fan girl. I've never read the books but I saw it on Netflix and decided to give it a go. I watched the whole series in like 3 days (safe to say I loved it).

Sure, if I could have directed the series I would have made a few changes because sporadically there's a scene that's cringe-worthy. But I mean for a kids show it is incredibly good.

I love the intro - a clear reference to Buffy the Vamp Slayer (yasss)! Adam and Watch, the two main characters are bound to make you a pedophile from their utter adorableness and their friend Sally is really sassy and hilarious.

The show is really witty with it's wordplay and incorporates lots of science fiction and fantasy elements, both of which I love. The story line (while sometimes drags) is really actually quite good. Sometimes they won't resolve something until 8 episodes later, which I liked and hated because I WANTED to know what the clue meant. But it gave real depth to the story.

I am so sad this series ended because I am dying to know what happens next in the story. I pray every night that enough people will watch on Netflix and a film will be made to finish the story before all the actors get too old. :p

Killer Women (2014)
8/10
I liked it...
20 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
OK, so she's driving away from a bunch of automatic gun-wielding Mexican drug dealers and then she pulls out a grenade launcher and blows up a gas tank....Yes, it's cheesy and over-dramatic but I liked it!

The main character is a strong female with a knack for badassery and trouble, in the name of justice of course. I love that the series showcases tons of headstrong women. While I thought that the title was stupid to say the least, I'm glad I gave it a chance. If you like Charlie's Angels then you will probably like this show.

What has bothered me most about the show is that she has failed to divorce her ex-husband, the whole thing is quite ridiculous. She prances around telling all the victims about how they have to be strong and how her husband beat her but she doesn't do anything. All characters need their flaws, but her inability to rid her awful husband is dumb and not very believable.

8 out of 10. Entertaining, but it has it's flaws.

Bitter Sweet, Disturbing and Melancholy...
16 February 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I was expecting a cute gay love story, but it felt more like a disturbing version of Twilight. If you want something like that, you will like this movie but otherwise you will probably hate it.

I never was quite sure what was going on. It's clear that homophobia was rampant in the little southern town and that his father was a crazy drunk. Exactly what drove his father to get drunk all the time and for his mother to give away all sense of control away was unclear to me.

Also, why they would perform gay sex acts in a tent next to the other boys or randomly in an abandoned house where there was clearly imminent danger to them being caught was confusing to me. How could homophobia be so present yet the characters give no indication of their fear of being caught?

The overall tone of the movie revolves around the two boys' pent up love for each other and the ensuing emotional tension. Sporadically their love/lust overcomes whatever was holding them back. Eventually they are caught and then one of the older boys who catches them rapes and murders the one boy.

I watched this entire film with the hope that it would turn around and get better, but honestly it just ended in utter tragedy with not much resolve. I just felt icky and disappointed. Perhaps it teaches some important lessons and artistically presents some interesting ideas, but I can't say that I enjoyed it at all.

Pretty awesome, really enjoyed it! :)

I felt like there may have been a Heisenberg factor throughout the show, that is the fact that people are aware that a camera could be recording them so perhaps they would act differently (I would suspect they'd be nicer)?

Nevertheless, overall it was a very intriguing, honest and perspective altering show frankly. I mean people really did offer to do things without knowing that he was writing a documentary.

I think I liked this documentary so much because it was more of an experiment for a given hypothesis rather than an investigation trying to convince you of something. I guess it was trying to convince me that there is good in the world and well it pretty much worked! That doesn't mean tomorrow I am going to go on Craigslist and do what he did, but I think there was something valuable to take away? :)

If you like Alias or Nikita, you will love!
24 October 2012
First off, Melissa George is incredibly talented and beautiful! I loved her in Alias and immediately wanted to see this show. I also loved the BBC Sherlock series and I was pleased to find that the two shows share a lot of stylistic qualities that I love and don't see often in American TV series. The action scenes are enthralling and the story thus far has been fairly intriguing. I felt like it was drug out in a couple parts, but I was still too glued to the TV to leave before watching every episode in one sitting. If you like Alias, Nikita, Burn Notice, Human Target or any other sort of action espionage series, you will undoubtedly enjoy this one. I look forward to the next episodes!

Well, I liked it...
8 February 2012
OK, well a lot of people seem to dislike this film, but I enjoyed it quite a bit? :)

Is it dull at some moments? Yes. Is it often clichéd? Most definitely.

However, as a low budget foreign film, I think it accomplished more than most overpriced American films! In fact, if you want to watch an LGBT film, you have to look overseas as American cinema doesn't even really touch the topic (at least not that often, unless it's a hollow stereotypical gay character).

What I liked about this film? I simply enjoyed the sarcasm and just soaked in all the "clicheness"! It was very colorful and I was able to connect with the characters at some level. Not exactly high art cinematography, but let's face it: most films we watch for entertainment aren't (well, at least for me).

If you like cute stupid films like Legally Blonde, Clueless, etc...I think you might enjoy this film?
