The Matrix (1999)
10/10
Cinema at its prime
5 April 2024
Every Sci-Fi enthusiast should share their first experience of watching The Matrix.

This film set a trend whose influence is still evident 25 years later, a rare feat for any film.

I've likely watched this film over 20 times, and I still believe there's no other Sci-Fi movie quite like it (Inception came close).

It represents the pinnacle of the '90s film industry.

The direction of the film is exceptional; you can palpably sense the difference between being in the Matrix and being in the real world. The action sequences are amazing and have stood the test of time; the cinematography and special effects are impressive. And of course, one cannot overlook the iconic bullet time. Keanu Reeves as Neo, Laurence Fishburne as Morpheus, and Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity form the revered trio of acting.

My childhood memories
25 March 2024
I saw this film with my dad on my 25" CRT TV on a VHS in 1999.

I still remember the iconic spaceship revel above the New York city and I thought to myself "Wow" Since then have seen this film multiple times.

The special effects were top notch for the time, I was blown away by them, the destruction of New your city felt so real. Story is also fine.

I feel all characters were nicely developed. The action scenes were great too.

This film will always be close to my heart as it is one of the earliest Si Fi films I saw.

I think 90's were the best time for Si Fi films, many iconic SiFi films were released in the 90's and Independence Day is one of them.

Not the Independence Day you are hoping for...
24 March 2024
Roland Emmerich directed "Independence Day" which is one of my favorite Si Fi alien films and a very iconic film of 90's. I still remember i was only 8 years old when I saw Independence Day on a VHS with my dad, That big spaceship revel above New York city, what a great memory.

But since then, all his films have been very disappointing, as a filmmaker he has not evolved and he's still making films like he made in the 90's.

The story is mediocre and at times very Chessy.

I sincerely hope that Emmerich starts evolving his film making before studios stop giving him films, the overall plots of his films are still interesting as far as Si Fi alien films are concerned, if he can bring some changes to his technique of storytelling and higher better script writers then I don't see why Emmerich can't make a comeback.

What to watch after Panchayat ?!?
11 March 2024
"Maamla Legal Hai" is a refreshing take on the legal comedy genre, offering a delightful blend of humor and drama that captivates viewers from start to finish.

The eight-episode series is a rollercoaster ride through the peculiarities of the Indian legal system, showcasing a variety of eccentric cases inspired by real-life events.

The series is not just about the laughs; it also raises pertinent issues about the legal profession and society at large. It provides a reality check and keeps the viewers engaged with its dark humor.

In conclusion, "Maamla Legal Hai" is a must-watch for anyone who enjoys a good laugh and appreciates a satirical look at the legal system.

The Rings of Power disappoints
9 March 2024
The show is not faithful to the source material, there are many creative liberties taken by the show writers and runners which make no sense to me or many who grew up reading lord of the rings by JRR Tolkien.

There are loads of plot holes in the show which makes no sense.

If you are new to the middle earth world and have not read the LOTR books or you are not a fan of the LOTR films then you can maybe still enjoy the show as a fantasy story but if you are big fan of the magical and adventure world which was visioned and created by JRR Tolkien, then you will most probably be disappointed by The Rings of Power.

Watch it for Arnold
30 December 2023
This show is a tipical 90's action film made into a TV show. It reminds me of all the Arnold films I grew up watching. The show overall is average but has some good action scenes.

There are some things I don't agree with in the show but If I look past all those things then I was able to enjoy the show overall.

All actors have played their parts fine but Carter part was kind of weired.

Overall I liked the show and the action sequences. I think the story was very average and could have been made more compelling.

The ending is a cliffhanger so you really don't get a proper ending and there are new questions which goes unanswered.

Great show bought down by weird plot holes.
10 December 2023
The show had such great potential but was completely ruined by the most dumb and nonsenseical Plot holes I have ever seen in any TV show. I dont want to spoil the plot so I will only say this that whoever wrote the plot for the last 3 episodes for season 1 should never write again and should consider changing careers.

I'm yet to see second season so can't say much but let's hope for the best.

The concept and the first few episodes were really great but then the plot holes midway starts to creepin and they are soo bad and dumb they you just can't enjoy the show anymore.

They should do studies about this show, title should be - "How not to make a tv show"
