Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
Zzzzzzz.......Zzzzzzzzz.......
I love QT's movies, but this movie was boring. Yea, the last 9 minutes got my attention, but we already know what happened. The movie was just a montage of famous dead people......over and over....Too much use of time and space. A very odd narrative.
I didn't care about any of the characters.
Anyway, good cinematography....
Peace and Love!
Jack Ryan (2018)
For Season One: Why was his love interest fat?
I think this updated production of "Jack Ryan" is Excellent! I'll leave it there to eliminate a "spoiler."
My only question is why did the producers cast such a "husky" love interest (Dr. Mueller) for Jack Ryan? Shy looks hulking and robust compared to Ryan's rowers build. Her face is chubby, but Ryan's physique is svelte. Doesn't add up.
On the other hand, Greer is a 56-year-old bad ass with a boiler? I guess the CIA has no AOC training?
Bottom Line: Suspend Disbelief!
Bear (2010)
Unwatchable. Unwarranted. Unfit. Unclear. Unbelievably Bad!
Friends don't let friends make crappy movies-Confucius 565
The camera work is stilted and shaky in a bad way. Instead of not noticing the edits, that's all you notice.
The acting is rough. The sound is good-really! I wasn't too annoyed by it.
I wanted to like this movie, but it looks like it took as much time to make as it takes to watch.
Peace and Love!
Ad Astra (2019)
Kinda Fun, Kinda Suspenseful and Kinda Good Script...
I love space movies and I love Brad Pitt, but this movie was light years from Stanley Kubrick's "2001's" masterpiece! In case you're comparing.
Ad Astra" cutting edge technology probably matches the technology of 2003. ( Transparent iPads?), Why Does TRANSPARENCY in video communication mean the future? I think we're here...
I don't want to sound crabby, but Ad Astra was S L O W. . . and was absolutely linked to the first person narrative of the Block Buster narrative of, Apocalypse Now." "I love the smell of Napalm in the morning "...
However, the movie has enough redeeming qualities that keep your attention!
I particularly loved the "Space Antenna" scene...
Go see it!!
Black Mirror: Crocodile (2017)
Disturbingly Entertaining
This episode rocked me! I don't want to Spoil it for others, but if you are ready to expand your current level of disgust and outright shock in the dark capabilities of mankind, by all means watch this episode. Just make sure you have a full bottle of Tequila or Scotch on hand.
Act III at the school play was amazing shot, acted and edited.
Time for my bike ride-- See ya!
Black Mirror: Metalhead (2017)
Cinematography is Quietly and impressively Framed; Acting is incredible and almost Direct Cinematic-Like
Just when you think you've seen it all, comes along another impressive BM episode.
What I admired most about ep. "Metalhead" was the beautiful cinematography, accompanied by excellent acting, all the while occurring in an almost constant tension filled plot.
The "Dogs" mechanical movement impressed the heck out of me. I'm still not sure what was added post, and what was production.
