Not Worth Theater Prices to View
13 August 2006
I was very disappointed with the film after previous comments and reviews I have heard regarding the film. There were no scenes that made me actually laugh, occasionally I did chuckle but it was more or a contagious vibe I got from everyone else so I could try to pretend I was enjoying myself. Will Ferrel just wasn't funny, his lines seemed repetitive and white trash. The co-star of the film, John C. Reily, was probably the funniest character throughout. Hell, even the character playing the dad was more humorous and entertaining than Ferrel. The hype surrounding the film is what made me actually go see it, the cast didn't have much interest to me, but once I went and saw it, I realized I made a mistake....I suppose you would enjoy this film if you are into the whole Blue Collar Comedy tour/white trash nascar thing...otherwise you might be subdued to an occasional chuckle.

Very Entertaining AND Educational

For those who thought Wrestling was all fake..well, you are sort of right. It takes a lot of acting ability. The most important aspect for a wrestler is knowing the secrets. This video goes in depth about the most basic of moves to the controversial bleeding technique. The pain CAN be real, if the moves are not done correctly. This video did a great job of informing those who debated whether wrestling was all a big hoax or if it was in fact all real. At the same time, the movie does a good job of keeping those entertained, but I do feel that it takes more of a wrestling fan to keep tuned to the whole program. All in all, the video was great and does a good job of depicting what can be real in wrestling but how it is all a story and is a big acting procedure. Enjoy!

Just Horrible

I think everyone who has seen this movie would agree with me, Billy Bob was the only good aspect to this film. The kids were terrible at acting, they made it seem like they were reading off a teleprompter the whole time. There were very few funny lines, and the kids seemed like nothing but potty mouth little brats.

The original is way better, the performance I saw by Walter Matthau in the original got me very excited because Billy Bob always plays a good drunk, but in this film Billy Bob was just too nice most of the time, so his character was a little too dull. If you enjoy baseball films then you might enjoy this, but I doubt even the biggest Billy Bob fan would give this 2 thumbs up...

Best Martial Arts Movie
12 January 2004
This is a very well made movie. They managed to gather up decent casting which lead to brilliant performances. I am a big fan of Jean Claude Van Damme, and I can honestly say, this is his best movie ever. It was his starring role that moved him to bigger roles and made him the star he is today.

The fight scenes are done very well. It appears as if the actors are in a real fight and it leaves you breathless with some of the actions.

I rated this movie a 10, because I can never get tired of watching it and it is totally entertaining for any Van Damme or martial arts fan in general.

I did find one more goof about the film though, in Chong Li and Paredes' fight, Chong Li wins by breaking Paredes' leg and you see the bone penetrating the skin. Although, after that fight, if you look in the stands you can see Paredes' sitting in the first row with his leg back to normal as if he hadn't even fought earlier. That is an amazing recovery from a vicious incident. I think they could of done a better job at editing.
