Perfect Harmony (2019–2020)

"The Fighting Temptations" meets "Community"
28 September 2019
Yes, it is slightly predictable. Yes, they took characters from "Community" and repackaged them in a Kentucky church choir setting. This didn't make the pilot any less entertaining. Bradley Whitford delightfully portrays the bitter, condescending, quick-witted intellectual that you love to hate and continue to watch to hear the next witty insult that makes you laugh. This pilot episode was spectacular. I'm not sure how they'll carry this storyline for a series, but I'll watch to find out.

Season 1 was great, Season 2? Horrible!!!
16 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I loved season 1. If it wasn't for season 1, I would give this only 1 star. The writers developed an accurate David vs. Goliath story. Billy Bob Thornton creates the perfect depiction of the foul-mouthed drunk with a heart of gold buried deep inside. In the end, he takes down the corporate bad guy.

Season 2 started strong with Lou Diamond Phillips as the single dad who's had his whole world ripped apart and what I thought would be a strong performance by Mark Duplass. By the end of the third episode, I wanted to gouge my eyes out. There are some things you just can't unsee. What's worse is the sick, twisted sexual fetish regarding amputees and family members did not bring anything to the table for the plot. It wasn't necessary, just sickening. The story lacked depth as a whole. I stuck it out to the end hoping it would redeem itself somehow. I was left with more head-scratching and nausea. I won't return for season 3 no matter who is in it.

Nice try, Netflix. But focus on quality instead of quantity.
8 January 2019
The best of Netflix's feature films so far, but it still falls short of a good, quality motion picture. Even the likes of Sandra Bullock and John Malkovich couldn't save the poorly-written script, scant of plot, character development and clear direction. It is obvious that Netflix's only business plan is to crank out as much original programming as possible with a "name-brand" cast & crew. There is absolutely no regard at all for quality programming. Their money would be better spent on licensing agreements with studios that have programming people want to watch (you know, the stuff on Netflix that the subscribers actually watch).

Part 6 Killed It For Me
27 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Parts 1 through 5 were hilarious and enjoyable. But without Rooster, every "laugh" is forced and the chemistry between characters has completely fizzled. Dax Shepherd/Luke Matthews is a "Cousin Oliver." It has also become way too gloomy for a comedy. This show is now as dead to me as Rooster.

It's not House, M.D.. But a suitable replacement.
30 July 2018
Love this show!!! A suitable replacement for House M.D. that I mourned for ages. Yes, it isn't 100% medically accurate. But if a TV show was 100% medically and ethically accurate, it would be boring as hell. 90% of the show would be watching them do paperwork and clean up poo.

The storyline is entertaining. The protagonist characters are very likable and relatable. The antagonists are the hospital equivalent of Marvel villians.

I adore that there is FINALLY a TV series I enjoy and can watch with my Mother without having to hear her complain about inappropriate content.

Well done, Fox. Now if only you'd bring back "Surviving Jack".....
