Calvaire (2004)
Disturbing rather than terrifying
The movie is slow paced and there is no a single moment where the movie manages to be terrifying. The movie introduces a sexual atmosphere from the beginning and builds upon it a sickening story and atmosphere. Although the movie is not terrifying it manages rather well to be disturbing and sick. The movie revolves around a singer travelling through the woods and suffering a car breakdown in a sparsely population region isolated from the world. Luckily he manages to find some lodgings where he can rest and get his car repaired. The movie portrays the events that unfold rather well. I would give the movie a skip if I was looking for something scary but the movie will fit right in if you are looking for something sickening.
Cleanskin (2012)
Not your everyday action movie
The movie has an extremely well written script. The story does not revolve around the protagonist stopping the attacks. This allows the movie to well explore and present all the factors that lead to the events. The movie has the back-story of the attackers, their motivations, the politics around the events and innocent bystanders that get caught up in such attacks. The movie is intriguing and leaves you wondering about the depth of actions behind such attacks and the actions taken by your government.
All these intertwining tales are extremely well written. The cast is well chosen and the performances delivered by the actors is quite pleasing. These storyline is well executed and makes for a near perfect movie.
Justice League: Gods and Monsters (2015)
Much different from the usual Justice League.
The characters portrayed in the Justice League are very different from the ones we are usually used to see. The back-story of the characters has been changed and even the real life names of the characters have been changed. This makes for an interesting and gripping plot. Its refreshing to see the characters out of their clichéd stories.
If you are willing to try something out of the comfort zone this is it. The supporting characters have a much different role to play. This storyline is well worth further exploitation. The ending is a platitude that you can expect from Justice League. But the movie is well written and made.
Batman vs. Robin (2015)
Interesting plot but lets you down
"Batman vs. Robin" has a very interesting plot. The character of owl lieutenant and the events spawned by his actions make the plot gripping. It is a pretty good sequel to "Son of Batman". Towards the ending the plot plays out well.
All though the plot is engaging the movie takes many falls. One major let down is the voice acting. Jason O'Mara manages to make Batman's voice kind of unattached and boring with absolutely no emotions. If you prefer that in Batman's voice you should be fine with the movie. The movie also has a clichéd feel. This movie nothing new to the table and is exactly like the previous batman movies.
The Double (2011)
Not Recommended!
The movie has a very weak plot line and this been further weakened by poor acting and direction. The movie has a few plot points which should have been focused on but are instead left fuzzy. The plot is unclear and leaves us confused. Where it is clear, the plot is a cliché and uninteresting. At some points in the movie the music is unrelated to what is going on. The story doesn't build up smoothly as you would expect but instead tries to woo you with the action movie clichés and uncaptivating action sequences. The movie doesn't deliver on the plot line or the action sequences. I wouldn't recommend watching this movie. PS: A good alternative would be to check out "The Most Wanted Man"
