Saw X (2023)
8/10
It's one of the best Saw films.... BUT
1 November 2023
This is an excellent sidequel.

Its meant to fit between 1 and 2.

However there is a big big pothole that was established in Saw 6.

In That film he makes his Medical insurer "play a Game". It's due to the fact that they will not fund or even allow John kramer to go to Norway, or Europe somewhere, for experimental procedure. They even threaten to cancel his account and force Kramer to pay all the medical bills. In the US it can be very expensive to treat cancer.

But in Saw X he's allowed to go to Mexico for this "New" treatment with no problem from his medical insurance issues.

But if you Overlook the basic plot of Saw VI it's a brilliant but a different type of Saw film.

Freddy's Nightmares (1988–1990)
7/10
Anthology series
4 September 2023
Let's get the big elephant in the room out the way.

If you, let's face it it is, to continue on from a Nightmare on Elm Street there is maybe a handful.

The real connection to series is slim. For the most part the only connection is Freddy who introduces the episodes and that's it.

There's one that deals with his trial and he's starred in 1 or 2.

But for the most part the stories could stand easily on there own.

Even if they took Freddy out the show is good enough to stand on there own.

When I first heard of a series I hoped it would touch base with Freddy's past.

But with the except of the trial episode nothing.

I felt short changed it very gratuitous just to shovel Freddy in for higher ratings.

Star Trek: Discovery: The Wolf Inside (2018)
Season 1, Episode 11
9/10
It started well but ended flatly.
30 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The end of the last episode shows them in a new universe, what will become the Mirror 'verse. That end was excellent and the continuation into this episode was brilliant.

They find evidence of were they are and who belongs where for them to survive and find away home.

However what did they end on before showing Lorca?

The start of Hanky panky between Burnham and Taylor.

Why that couldn't been shown later. I would of cut it.

I would of ended it with Capt Burnham sitting in the Centre seat saying "GLORY TO THE EMPIRE".

The camera was brilliant zooming out of the bridge to show the exterior of the ship then hitting Warp.

Then I would of showed Lorca in the pain-Booth screaming.

Great film
22 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This film deals with the aftermath of Halloween 2018.

It continues almost immediately after the first.

The big difference is it starts right at the end of the original to show its a soft reboot from Halloween 1978. So it starts at around 5 minutes after the original 1978 ended and the police arrest Myers with Dr Loomis.

This one also expands the cast to bigger ensemble with characters that were introduced in the original, such as Tommy, the child Laurie Strode is sitting for, also Lindsey, the Girl Annie Brackett is babysitting for, Marion Chambers, the original actress and the nurse that is driving Loomis to pick up Myers from the institute when Myers original escape, it also has a cameo by the original Sheriff Brackett although not the same actor, also expands the characters to people that only had cameos in the 2018 Halloween.

Laurie's in hospital from the stab wound that Myers gave her from the previous film.

It expands on the whole boogie-man premise.

It's well acted and flows nicely and brings new insights into Michael Myers.

It's brilliant film. It's my second faverourite film of the franchise second only to the original movie.

Great soft reboot of the franchise
22 November 2022
This is a great film.

I don't know if it's because John Carpenter helped do the music and gave his blessing but it made it feel like the original.

Not since Halloween 3 has John Carpenter been involved in the production in anyone other than "Characters created by" credit.

Halloween H20 John Carpenter was asked to Direct.

But because of the millions and Millions of dollars created by the franchise he created he wanted a fee of $10 million. But the producers didn't want to the creator that much.

Halloween 2018 helped recreate but or so advance the Myers Mythology around the create.

In this Laurie Strode has become an alcoholic but also mad on self defence and her home is a fortress.

Her daughter at a young age was taken from her because of Strode teaching her daughter how to shoot and fight.

By the time Myers Escapes strode's grandaughtet is about to graduate high-school just as she had.

They change the mythology slightly by openly stating in the movie 5hat Strode and Myers aren't related in anyway and that it was tabloids that made it up which puts a new twist on it. All the other soft reboots Halloween 4 - 6, H20 and Zombie's reboot all had them keep the mythology they were related. With this it puts a new spin on it like the original.

Strike Back (2010–2020)

It WAS a great show
12 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The first season was a good starting point.

Season 2's opening made no sense. How did Porter get off the Red list of the US return and then "get capture"?!

Then each season got dark and dark.

Stonebridge, whose played a Yank (excellent english accent, as Americans cannot usually do them), the Scott an American played by an Aussie.

The seasons were very good.

The season 5 finale made no sense.

With Whitehall turning on them like traitors considering all the "good" they had done.

It never mentions how they get out of the garage in Switzerland with lack of ammo and tonnes and tonnes of PMC who were over paid and overly armed.

Then how does Stonebridge even walk into the office of a high Ranking Whitehall official?

Then suddenly season 6 kicks the Section 20 is reactivated.

I tried watching it?

In each season they change what branch of the military trained Stonebridge.

In season 4 in the first couple of episode Scitt mentions you "navy guys do boats right" Then near the end of season 5 when hes talking to the Austrian he's Army, on the fan site he's SBS?

I got nearly to thr end.

Its not bad.

But its not as good.

These guys make way to much noise.

In episode 2 they go in to rescue ann arms dealer. They dont have silencer on?

A few times they went in and loud when surely surprise should of been the key.

The group is ok.

Way to much sex.

Porter giy laid once in the first season.

Scott gets laid at least once every episode.

This group like the previous section 20 have female soldiers on the frontlines.

Do very up to date.

Its very good if not the best if the Anderson 'verse.

Set around an ensemble cast and future megastar.

Set in a small confined underground Umbrella facility called The Hive.

Controlled by an intelligent A. I.. Umbrella is a huge "evil" war mongering corporation that bio-engineered weapons.

Got it at chridtmas and only able to play april
20 May 2022
I got this game at christmas 2021.

It took over 12 hours to install and it wouldnt work.

Something about a pack issue not owned even though I owned the disc.

I'd re-install it every month to try it. Only started working april ish 2022.

I actually started playing a couple of days ago.

In terms of gaming hours I completed it all in the dame time it took to download 12 ush hour!?

This is the problem eith all games these days.

Its all about online gaming these days and more thought goes in on it due to the amount of profile they bring in.

I've always been about the single player campaign. All games are being short changed due to the online gaming.

The missions of the campaign was good and thre graphics are excellent almost realistic.

I feel short changed due to online hence the lower rating.

Its been since GTA 5 Online as the tester. I tried that hated it eith a passion.

The start of Trashy TV
20 September 2021
The first couple seasons it was a proper television that did some real heart felt episode.

Then they were brought by another TV firm and due to low ratings became the antithesis of good TV.

It turned into Friday night fight night.

Yet they tried to do some good in the beginning but America didn't take notice til it was loud brash and violent. Just like the US.

Evolution is an illness?
26 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The first film was a small collection of Mutants Fear of humanity and their first shot across the Bow of Humanity.

The second was forced registration of Mutants as if they were second class citizens and then the obvious step of forced relocation of the Mutants to better control them. As history has showed repeatedly the first step on the steps of fear will always go to the second steps.

The third film is the is the of cause declaring evolution as an illness and that theirs a "cure" for it.. Imagine if neanderthals dreamed Homosapiens as an illness or and set out to destroy the Homosapiens.

26 March 2021
Great episode. Not your normal 100th episode special. There's Seth MacFarlane just not in touch with the "reality" of the episodes. The people talking talking about the episodes aew such idiots. What's with that guy who keeps squinting while blinking.

The real X Files
31 January 2021
It's great show. The big problem is its overly dramatic and like all American Reality show it feels fakeish. Take June Sarpong only just gone over to the US. In the UK she was a Presenter on a kids show T4. So could she have developed "the man in the white van" contact who worked in almost every secret project. That felt fake to me. But are there people like that and would help investigators, take deep throat, so yes. Then every show starts with a clandestine encounter that felt a little fake to me until the Manimal and a guy on a BMX shouted at the contact. But if you Google search moat of these people turn out to be what they claim. I think the investigations are factual but the slip in filmed bits that are fake as hell, to make it feel like a deep throat style show. The main point in all the investigation is its all plausible, the ones that they prove are possible. Take "The Reptilian Elite" there was literally no evidence except for 1 psychic running away as she claimed she could "hear" them. There was no proof the video expert guy said 90% of them on the net had been artificially changed. Yet the one person who came up with it is raking up millions a year on the conspiracy. Conspiracy theories are notoriously hard to prove out right but you cannot completely disprove then 100%. Also the first 2 seasons were better. They had 2 different Guys a Daniel and Alex who were sceptical of all of it at the beginning but with the right evidence would start leaning and be like OK the evidence isn't 100%. Sean Stone and Tyrrel Ventura started taking the group into areas that didn't need to go. But overall its not bad.

This is almost as good as the first
10 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This is an excellent balls out action film again.

Starts exactly where chapter 2 left of.

This film shows more of the ideology for the Underworld of this world.

John Wick even with him being an outsider Wick shows his ability to adapter and kill without access to the normal array of weapons he usually has available.

The death scenes are so realistic. A lot made my teeth jigger like finger nails down a chalk board.

This is way way way better than Chapter 2.

Shows how intune Wick is as an assassin.

Excellent.

However very disappointed in the end?

BETRAYAL.

1 thing takes me out of the "Suspension of Disbelief".

They're expecting the best High Table forces with the best armour available. The type Bruce Wayne cannot get his hands on.

What does John Wick and Charon go out with.... Well Charon goes out with a 9mm hand gun with the other Continental guards. The guards last what 10 seconds.

John Wick goes out with something a little better, it looks like a Battlefield rifle type weapon. Then you look at the clip. It's thin... In the previous 2 other films he goes against other "assassin/bodyguards" and uses 5.56mm rifles along with pistols and shotguns.

So he's facing multiple combatants with the latest "bullet proof" armour, head to toe and John Wick goes out with battle rifle chambered for... 9x19mm.

Now I get it's a call to the only chapter to have a subtitle, Parabellum.

The guy is delusional if he thinks a 9mm going to breach there armour.

Now John Wick doesn't know how good this armour is but Charon and the rest of the Continental do and they go out wholly unprepared.

The they come back and get some shotguns with solid slug shells.

The Continental is meant to have almost every weapon available and they go out with some potato guns instead.

But I cannot wait for John Wick Chapter 4.

Easily the best balls out action film in along time.
10 June 2019
It's really good. It's a bit like the crow in away he only kills bad people you don't have to feel bad. Wick actually goes out of his way by not killing certain former colleagues. Excellent use of music and great to see Ian mcshane. Excellent performance all around. It's easily the best film in the John Wick franchise.

Way, way, way below par.
16 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
It had some good moments. However it was mostly very cartoony. The final battle was all green screen and very short sighted. Marvel's has took over 10 years to tell it's compete story. DC made Man of Steel and tried to jump on the bandwagon. However all they have done is just overload with special effects. In the fight scene of Avengers: Infinity Wars they used CGI just for certain pieces it was mostly in camera and CGI a tool. But Justice League it felt like The Matrix had them. All the CGI in the trilogy worked because they were in a computer. Justice League was meant to feel and look real. In my opinion the Cartoons are a lot better.

Dr Walpurgis was so funny. He looked scary as hell but had a voice of silk. Horror films just aren't the same without Dr Walpurgis. As a kid I would record the films and his introduction. It was always worthwhile use of the extra tape.

Warning: Spoilers
It's great. Loads of actions sequences. Even excellent comedy moments. It's very good one of the best in the series. Not the best ever but it's been going from strength to strength. The only blip in the series is mission impossible 3. That movie felt like it missed out a whole section. When Ethan entries the lab for the rabbits foot. This one however has everything. There's even a point with a did he fail point. I'm in hope they will keep going with the franchise.

Great show but once again finished without closure. Plots left glaringly open. Enemies left undefeated. New possible enemies hinted at.

I haven't always agreed with the choices the producers made. But the show was good.

Stargate SG-1 (1997–2007)

Good show
9 December 2017
It was great. The characters gelled very well. The producers only resurrected 2 characters to survive from the movie. O'Neil, in the movie, O'Neill with 2 L's in the TV show. Richard Dean Anderson's O'Neill seemed to have free reign on the character. Anderson made the character became funny. Didn't seem to have much discipline, how on Earth this man became a full bird colonel is beyond me. But it's a great character. Dr Jackson's character pretty much stayed the same. Michael Shanks I'd guess didn't have as much freedom on the character as Dean. The character changed after the show became so popular. I liked the change in Jackson he became physically fit and stronger. The Carter character was new and it was the first show that showed a woman and a physicist could kick ass. General Hammond seemed like a very disciplined military general. But again after a bit seemed to mellow and be very family. Teal'c was a good addition to the show.

This show had actions galore in it and set with current day technology. The only downfall with this show in my opinion is it ran to long. I really enjoyed the first 8 series. It gave closure to all plots. Series 9 and 10 however seemed to be just an exercise in money grabbing & destroying an excellent series.

The huge problems they changed the entire history of the ancients and obviously had to create an even more invincible enemy.

To be fair to the show there was good episodes in the last 2 series. But the bad really outweighed the good.

The very last episode was very disappointing. Ending on a very low note. Instead of a high one if they'd ended it, as intended, on series 8.

Half arsed
8 November 2017
Ragnorwhat? I expected this movie to be the keystone to phase 3 as Capt America the winter soldier was to phase 2. Unfortunately it isn't anywhere near as good.

The dynamic between three main character, hulk,Thor and Loki, is excellent as always. Korg is brilliant. As to is the direction and acting.

The main plot they've lifted from a few other marvel films. There is a huge glaring plot hole in the premise of the movie. Where they've changed history of Asgard. But hasn't even mentioned it, like they hoped no one would notice. I recommend going in with no preconceived ideas or it's part of a movie franchise. Go in and rate as a stand alone and it's an excellent piece of cinema with good humour. If you put it along side the rest of the franchise you'll make the mistake I made and find the franchise loosing it's footing and floundering. Ultimately running out of ideas as it continues...

WWE Raw (1993– )

Was excellent many, many, many....... moons ago
8 November 2016
What WWE, to it'll always be WWF, has done for and to wrestling is amazing and terrible. They made an international extravaganza. When the Monday night wars happening and they had stiff competition the product was great. Even after I enjoyed it. But then they tied themselves up with the pg era, which I understand to a certain extent. however the worse thing to happen was scripting the wrestlers Promo's. These guys aren't actors. Some can pull it off but not many. Gone is the emotional and great promo of the past. Some writer does the script so it's like friends meets ER. But without the writing talent. Granted now it's PG you can't have a character swearing or saying something inflammatory. But gone are the great McMahon Austin promos, the cerebral Foley Promo's and the Rock's funny, you know classics.

Not bad
5 January 2016
The first episode was OK.

I thought overall it's not a bad attempt. However way to much CGI is used. They've used it for everything including background. I'm sure it was a budgetary reason but due to the low quality CGI you can tell. Id rather see a simple set if budgets an issue. Basic it's technically a military vessels. Less is more.

But once I got use to the CGI everywhere and the acting. The worse being Mara's future husband. Nerves I'm sure. It was a lot better. I enjoyed the political route this fan show did. The fact that even in the Utopian future of trek the politics is just as corrupt as politics of today. I hope there will be more episodes soon.

Star Trek: Renegades (2015–2017)

better than a lot tripe Hollywood spews out
4 October 2015
his was an excellent try and a lot better than most most Hollywood multi million dollar blockbusters. It sets the scene of Starfleet very well. The characters were intriguing. It had some great Hollywood character actors of the past. The acting in places seemed abit off but what pilot doesn't. That's what I see this as. A start. A promise of more star trek renegades. Please do more.

I know it's hard as CBS aren't prepared to do anymore star trek TV and you've got Paramount starting really well with the reboot but then short selling the sequel and being very stuck in there ways. These fan films are star treks fans chance for new meat. I'm really looking forward to axanar. Keep it. Bring the renegades back I want to know whose at the centre of it.
