DC's Legends of Tomorrow (2016–2022)
9/10
What Fun! ...Great Continuation / Expansion on the DC - Flash - Arrow Universe!
28 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I was excited to see my old favorite, Arthur Darvill (Rory Williams - Doctor Who), as a lead - and so many of the B-Team character from Arrow & Flash, finally getting their own show and more development... This is totally FUN! ;o)

Perfect? Nothing IS!...But it's so sad to hear so many reviewers on here totally missing the point.

1st >>> There are the first-time viewers, that did not see the introduction and development of all these characters, prior to Legends, on Arrow & Flash.

2nd >>> There are the comic book readers, who are expecting their comic book characters to be brought to life, "as is", into a live TV series. I am SO glad I don't like comics! I don't have this bias. Anyone who (again) has watched Arrow & Flash, knows these are "adaptions".

I liked all of these characters & actors prior to coming into Legends, from watching them on Arrow & Flash. So I was able to watch Legends, hitting the ground running, and just enjoy it....!

It also didn't hurt seeing Arthur Darvill act in some 27 episodes of Dr Who, prior. Totally worth the binge watch, if you haven't!

What fun seeing a Time Lord ;o) ...errr, sorry, "Master" ...zippin' around time & space, with "Companions", saving the future of the world!...But no super-being, just an ordinary human, with a wife & son, who he just wants to save!

For our "comic reading" friends, get over yourselves and "adapt" to the adaptations. For those who are coming into it blind, do us, and yourself, a favor and watch Arrow & The Flash (before complaining) ....For the rest of us, we're just going to settle in with our popcorn and ENJOY! ;o)

Too Soon to Tell, But Liking it So Far....
13 January 2016
Only the pilot is out, so all the people whining about character development, plot development, and so on, give me a break! Watch 5- 10 episodes of a new show before judging.

Sure, it's been done before (Like "Intelligence", which I also enjoyed. Even "The 6 Million Dollar Man!"), but it's a fresh twist. I wish they had done a 2-episode pilot, to develop the story-line and characters a bit more, but it was fast-paced and there was enough to get my interest piqued...

We will have to see, but I am enjoying it so far. I am entertained, and that's what this is all about folks. "Formulatic"? Of course! Most TV is ...and if we've seen some elements before, it's because, hello!, it works! ...Plus it's what, folks like myself, want to see.

Robert Kazinsky is good in the main role - I can "see" his former self "coming thru" his new, younger self. I am also really glad to see Tim DeKay, as he's a great character actor - I was wondering where he'd end up, after "White Collar", another favorite show of mine - back as an FBI agent "again", there's a stretch, but he does it so well! ...This is full of excellent actors.

I love shows like this, because there's so much room for development, directions they can take it, a lot of potential there. It appears Fox ordered 13 episodes ...I can't wait to see where it goes!

Awake (2012)
10/10
Looking Forward to More!
29 February 2012
Warning: Spoilers
This definitely has promise. It's hard to tell from just one episode, despite how some of the other reviews are already judging the series, before it's begun. In fact, of late I prefer to start watching a series after several episodes are aired and watch them back to back on Hulu, Netflix, etc. You get a much better idea of the story-line and continuity watching that way, but there were two new shows, "Touch" and "Awake", that I wanted to see from the beginning ...both of which have my interest.

One reviewer says there are only three possibilities: 1) One of the realities is false. 2) Both are false as he lies in a hospital bed. 3) 'Purgatory' (sorry couldn't resist).

Actually the three possibilities are: 1) One of the realities is false 2) Both realities are false (though not likely, I'll explain) 3) Both realities are REAL

Cherry Jones' psychologist character gives us a convincing argument that possibility #2 couldn't be correct. She runs off a copy of the Constitution and has Michael Britten's character read a section of a random page. Unless he's memorized the entire Constitution, it seems unlikely he would be able to do this, if that reality was false.

I kept waiting for the scene where our detective tells the psychologist in the "other" reality about this, but that never happens. Also, couldn't the detective have BD Wong's character duplicate this same experiment in the other reality? That doesn't happen either, which seems like the most logical approach.

But story-wise, it would be WAY too early to do that. Would it show too early in fact that BOTH realities exist? I think this is more likely, as many other clues in the episode, dealing with the two cases the detective is working on, one in each reality, seem to point towards both being real - just alternate realities.

This is going to be fun! And please folks, try to have fun. Who cares if similar stories have been done before, as other reviewers point out. Nothing is new under the sun. But that was then and this is NOW ...with new characters, locations, crew, directing, production, not to mention very good actors ....so sit back, make some popcorn, and have Fun! ;o)
