Mindcage (2022)
Should have known better..
From the onset I watched the trailer a few times before I deep sighed and hit play, found it on Tubi. Martin Lawrence in a serious role after everything he's done was a risk,no reward. No chemistry between the two detectives at all even though they were both on the hunt. A total SOTL copy.5 stars because i do like Malcovich and Lawrence, this movie just wasn't for either of them. Script was way too much like Silence. Great actress but not a "Clarice" by any means. Not an entire snoozefest but a great background noise solution. Not enough shock factor like Silence. Thankfully it was barely over an hour.
Locked In (2023)
Anxiety vibes, couldn't look away, for good and bad reasons
Another good film from the creative Chase Dudley. No spoilers, but started off really fast. People went from having a good time to not having a good time. I'm a lover of gory movies and this one didn't disappoint. My only complaint is the sound throughout as it went from hard to hear to almost ear piercing in a split second. Great visuals as the women are beautiful even when they weren't at their "best". Great villain as I found myself wanting kick his teeth in from the onset. Not even in his actions but every time he spoke. Not for the weak of heart or stomach but that's what makes it stand on its own.
Happy Birthday (2023)
Groundhog day with the green screen
I do applaud the effort, great idea and I see what they were going for. Jumped around a bit but I believe it took that to tell the story. One car ride had the actors literally driving by the same farm and house at least 10 times in the seemingly few minute car ride. But I do enjoy low budget movies and not trying to keep it cliché. Alot of family tension scenes makes it seem like real life situations. Great acting from some as it didn't seem forced or overacted. I would definitely watch more movies with some of the cast but not all,a few didn't do it for me. A second half movie for sure a good watch.
Marvelous Mandy (2016)
Low budget fans... This one is a must
Great ending and build-up.. Kept me watching til the very end. Kills were top notch and it had me liking and disliking Mandy at the same time, highly recommended.
Living Proof: The Hank Williams, Jr. Story (1983)
Bucket list
If you're a fan of his career and music, this is a must watch. Great soundtrack as well.
