Have Gun - Will Travel (1957)
Just fair, not so great
A man who has a lot of useless information but no understanding. With all thy getting, get understanding. Better words where never spoken. For a man who is suppose to be fast with a gun, he is not so fast. He pushes the gun after he draws. Having studied karate, I can recognize speed when I see it. To obtain true speed with drawing a gun, a person needs to be very relaxed. Something Richard Boone can't be.
The Morning Show (2019)
Could they use the F word any more than they did????
Aniston has a real mouth on her. Never thought that Rachel Green would ever turn out like this. Reese Witherspoon is very good in the series. I could only watch each one out of curiosity. No entertainment value at all. Just a lot of people with a lot of problems. At least they fit into the rest of the world.
Greyhound (2020)
One great movie
I don't care for Naval battles as a rule. This movie was made so well, with just the right amount of music, action, and acting. Tom Hanks just keeps getting better with age. There is so much CGI these days that I am tired of it. In this movie, it fits just right.
Man of Steel (2013)
Not worth watching
The CGI was great. Way, Way to much of it. It was exactly what I had expected. I fast forwarded through most of the movie. This movie is for the simple minded and special effects fans. There were other movies previously made on this subject that were true to the character created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Schuster. The dialog is stilted and amateurish and awful, the kind of stuff that makes you feel very embarrassed for the actors. The special effects are quite good, but there is a relentless, nonstop barrage of them, and the plot bangs from pillar to post, often making any sense. This is far and away the worst of the Superman movies -- a super dud.
The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
Very disappointed
The problems with this mess of a movie are endless. Mainly, it's just boring and completely unbelievable...and way too long. There's not nearly enough Batman and, when he is on screen, he mostly gets his ass kicked. Meanwhile the villains are capable of doing everything successfully. As a result, Batman just comes off as tired and lame. The movie's war scenes smack more of Iron Man than Dark Knight. The movie desperately tries to prove how bad-ass Bane is, but he's just...not. Truly, I expected a scene with Bane loading cancer surviving, crippled grandmas into a bus and blowing them up. It was that silly. All the subplots slow things down: I could care less about the backstory of the chick with the accent, Robin (gee, I didn't see that coming two hours before it happened), the corporate stuff, Alfred's blubbering. Dull, dull, dull. Lastly, the sound is amateur. Everything is pushed up front, so it's often difficult to understand dialogue. Just a disorganized mess.
