The Batman (2022)
A Brilliant Masterpiece
This is the Batman of our generation. He is young, angry, gritty ready to take on the bad guys and he is just starting out. We see the world's greatest detective at work. It's not all action, there are twists and turn at every corner. I think riddler was the perfect villian to bring out the detective side of Batman.
Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz are both remarkable in their roles. According to me Robert Pattinson is the best Batman of all time. He adds a sense of vulnerability and empathy to the character like never before. His personality grows during the whole movie as he realises that along with installing fear into his enemies he also needs to become a symbol of hope for the people.
The cinematography is beautiful as we had already seen in the trailers but nonetheless it is fascinating.
The overall score by Michael Giacchino is stunning and thrilling I can't get the Batman theme out of my head.
Overall it is a Masterpiece.
Arcane: League of Legends: The Base Violence Necessary for Change (2021)
WOW!!
Absolutely mindblowing and heartbreaking at the same time. The music was great. The voice actors have done some fantastic work and all the visuals were perfect. I don't know about the games but this looks amazing, what an incredible set up for the coming episodes. Can't wait to see more of this.
Mandela (2021)
A real gem of our time
The movie is really amazing in portrayal of the current political climate in our country, like how the babus are deploying all their resources just to gather votes and how the common man is being fooled into thinking that they have to support them just because they have to support the leader of their cast blindly no matter what (which was portrayed in the auction scene..Brilliant).
The movie overall touches on so many aspects of our politics so realistically that its hard find any mistakes. It also shows that if you actually work for the welfare of the people from whom you are asking for votes they really might support you, as we saw at the delhi elections in 2020.
The acting of all the cast members were outstanding and I must also praise the director and the writers to bring about such an amazing movie. My only complaint would be that it was a little long and could be cut by 15-20 mins to keep it under 2 hrs but other than that absolutely brilliant. I wish more movies like this could be made and our audiences would appreciate the political satire.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Old Friends Not Forgotten (2020)
Race you to the surface!!
This episode gave me chills. So much emotional impact. The new lightsabers for Ahsoka were amazing. I wonder when she will get the white ones though. The action sequences were absolutely cinematic, particularly Ahsoka jumping between ships and landing on the surface in such style with that amazing score was absolutely mindblowing.
Mr. Robot: 405 Method Not Allowed (2019)
Thrilling!!
It was one of the best hour of television I have ever seen. It was such a perfect episode with only just 2 dialogs in it. Both the lead actors, the director, the writers they have all done a marvelous job here.
This was one of the greatest heist episodes ever and considering it had no dialogs, its perhaps the best of all time. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
Titans: Nightwing (2019)
Poor ending to great storyline
They spent so much time on building up all the storyline this season and in the end just rushed through it in 30 mins. The fight scene was good between Nightwing and Deathstroke but the editing was way off. In the scene where Dick was asking if anybody is hurt, I didn't realise that he subdued Deathstroke for the moment and was standing so close to the vehicle that he was talking face to face with everyone..that was really poor editing. And Deathstroke died just like that..so easily and quickly. That was really disappointing. When rose and dick were fighting him everyone else were just sitting in the car chilling and enjoying the show, like 'yeah let these two take care of Deathstroke we don't need to help them we will just watch it from here.' This just showed how easy it was to kill him.
After Superboy was recovered he feels regret that he did all of that..I mean how? He showed up way after the tiger had already done so much damage. What the hell did he do?? And no one, except for Gar a little bit, actually know him pretty well and suddenly he is part of the family? Why didn't Mercy Graves use the kryptonite bullet again to subdue Superboy?
The most stupid thing was how Donna died. She is Wonder Girl for God's sake. She stood toe to toe with Superboy and she died because of, wait for it 'Electricty'. I mean Superboy was standing right there he was right there..what the hell was he doing?? I think the writers just wanted to be done for day and decided 'yeah lets just kill one of the central characters in a really dumb way, that'll work just fine.'
I enjoyed most of the season because I was expecting that it's a slow burn and we will get a huge payoff in the end but it was all for nothing. Really disappointed.
Upgrade (2018)
It turned out to be more brilliant then I thought at first
This is an amazing entry in the sci fi genre. The story was a little predictable but I was mindblown nonetheless. The action sequences were all amazing, the cinematography was terrific the music was also good and very suitable to the tone of the film.
I knew beforehand its a good movie but I was genuinely surprised when STEM came into focus in first action sequence, that was amazing. I was a bit concerned about the ending before, but it didn't let me down, it was great. I enjoyed watching this one and Logan Marshal Green was great in it.
Joker (2019)
An absolute Masterpiece!
Absolutely amazing movie with an original story on one of the most iconic character ever. Joaquin Phoenix was just brilliant in portraying such a damaged character. He captivates you to every screen he is in.
This is the story of how the joker came to be. Many are comparing it to Heath Ledger's take on joker, but it was different. Heath's character was already completely transformed into the this crazy man who only wanted to bring chaos to the illusion of world order. But in this movie Arthur is not there yet. They are both on different stages of being the joker.
It was a compete deconstruction of a damaged human being who was rejected by the society which in turn created a dangerous ruthless man that the joker really is.
The Family Man: Dance Of Death (2019)
The hospital scene!!
The hospital scene was absolutely fantastic. The whole scene was filmed in a single shot. Kudos to the whole cast and crew. It reminded me of Daredevil, who does these kind of scenes in every one of its season. The tension was high all the time and it was all executed brilliantly.
Mindhunter: Episode #2.4 (2019)
The ending...
I was completely blindsided by the ending, it didn't even cross my mind. JUST SHOCKING. It was so horrifying to know that children could do such a heinous act.
Loved Anna Torv in all her scenes. She really got a chance to dig in to the good stuff in this episode.
