American Pie Presents: Girls' Rules (2020)
American Pie franchise has been milked dry
American Pie is in fact a trilogy. It shows a steady cast going from puberty to marriage. From high school to day jobs. After those movie successes, the American Pie franchise has been milked dry over the course of a decade. Every possible stupid scenario in teens lives has been exploited and forced on to the movie market with the successful AMERICAN PIE label. Although these movies share absolutely NOTHING with the original trilogy. Okay, Eugene Levy 'acted' in some of them, for reasons unknown apparently. But still, these movies are all money and time wasting spin-offs, not even worth the movie poster they were printed on.
Honestly, think about it. There are so many superb directors with brilliant movie ideas who actually have to go through crowdfunding to get their projects financed and their movies made. Thus I wonder what incompetent nincompoop would freely give money to a director for yet another American Pie movie? Seriously. How do these pitches actually take place? Is there really a loser out there with an idea, running to a studio and actually getting lots of money for this stuff? What do they present at such a movie deal pitch? A script? Some nude college girls?? I will never understand the movie business.
Deutschland 86 (2018)
Still totally unrealistic
It depicts an unrealistic portrait of the 1980s. If you watch the series you always see the same things. Everybody sleeps with everyone (effortlessly), everyone seems to be bisexual and the main characters not only survive every situation, they also get away with everything. Almost like there are no consequences and they are always the smartest people in the room. The plot has more holes then Swiss cheese and is often riddled with clichés.
Top Gunner (2020)
Just a cheap copy of an upcoming blockbuster
Yes, a Top Gun remake (or sequel?) was scheduled for summer 2020. Apparently this did not stop the producers to quickly push their own mock version of Top Gun to the market. Market? What market? All Top Gun veterans from the 1980's wouldn't come close to this cinematic crap let alone watch it and the Millennials don't know what the heck this is. So who is this movie intended for? Beats me.
Also, Eric Roberts seemed to follow in Nick Cage's footsteps by accepting virtually every script that winds up in his mailbox. No matter how bad it is. Seems neither two have a reputation anymore to uphold.
The producers were also snotty and bold enough to keep "Top Gun" in the release title, which is surprising. So if you love amateur acting, plot holes, anachronisms, goofs, errors, visual mistakes and clueless directing, then you came to the right picture. Everyone with a bit of cinematic taste should avoid this though as it will cause eye cancer, bleeding from both ears and uncontrollable vomiting.
Jojo Rabbit (2019)
Sheer and utter crap
Belongs in the category "Movies this world does not need". I don't know what target audience this movie is meant for. First of all it is ALWAYS silly and stupid watching a US/UK movie about the german side of WWII. No german actors and everyone speaks in their own US/UK accent. That has always been a downer when a movie director doesn't give two cents about authenticity. The mock german accent is simply ruining everything. US/UK actors should never impersonate germans... PERIOD.
The movie is just unbearable and hard to watch. Nothing can be taken seriously and the idea of an imaginary Hitler friend is just... welll... bizarre at best. How can this utter piece of crap been nominated for 6 academy awards??? How far has the movie industry come?? I guess they are running out of ideas. Apart from sequels and prequels and remakes they only seem to produce utter crap these days.
The Pink Panther (2006)
All critics are wrong about the concept of this movie
Everybody is wrong about this movie. It's actually not a pink panther movie but instead a promotional lengthy music video for Beyoncé.. By coincidence some stars (and has-beens) appear to have cameos. So if Beyoncé's acting and singing doesn't make you puke in your soup then Martin's horrible and insulting mock French accent certainly will.
David and Goliath (2016)
The title is promising but the movie can put a even a grizzly bear down
The Greatest Tale of all Time. True. Then there is this typo 'David AND Goliath' so the title of this movie sounds like it's one of those sleazy 80's adult flicks. This biblical tale is better known as 'David versus Goliath'. Anyway I don't want to be persnickety but the movie poster is still the best thing about this movie. Period. I have seen better footage lying on editor's cutting floors than this. Sometimes I do not understand why serious movie makers struggle for money to get an independent movie gem made and other director's can easily deliver crap like this. Hollywood works in mysterious ways. Maybe this isn't a movie but instead it's a really long television ad for retro clothing and shoes. Who knows?
