My new favorite Christmas movie
"Klaus," the 2019 Christmas animated gem, tells a fantastic story that's inspiring and emotional. I found myself shedding tears near the end. The film unfolds a heartwarming narrative of redemption and the enchantment of selfless giving. The animation is visually stunning, bringing the snowy town of Smeerensburg and its endearing characters to life.
Jesper and Klaus, the central characters, undergo a remarkable journey from discord to friendship, delivering a poignant and uplifting experience. Clever humor is seamlessly integrated, providing a perfect balance to the emotional beats. The voice acting, led by Jason Schwartzman and J. K. Simmons, is exceptional, adding depth to each character.
"Klaus" stands out with its unique visual style, blending traditional 2D animation with modern techniques. The result is a visually captivating masterpiece that perfectly captures the festive spirit of Christmas. The meticulous attention to detail, from character designs to picturesque landscapes, reflects the animators' dedication.
What makes "Klaus" exceptional is its timeless message about the power of kindness and generosity, making it an ideal holiday movie for families. The heartwarming conclusion leaves a lasting impact, reminding viewers of the true meaning of Christmas. "Klaus" is undeniably a modern classic, offering a fresh perspective on the beloved Santa Claus legend and spreading joy to audiences of all ages.
Smile (2022)
Scariest movies I've ever seen (no joke)
Went into this with the confidence that I wouldn't be scared and could handle the jump scares. God damn I was wrong. Non stop frightening and eerie scenes which is very solid plot. Some parts of the movie were like 5 solid minutes of being on the edge of your seat. The jump scares are frequent with some being more unexpected than others. Also, a nice mix of trippy psychological thriller type scenes when you don't know what's real and what isn't.
Literally had nightmares the night after seeing it and I'm generally ok with horror movies.
Would definitely recommend seeing in the cinema for max effect.
Euphoria: Stand Still Like the Hummingbird (2022)
Sooo exciting and an excellent portrayal of addiction by Zendaya
Exciting from start to finish. Actually had to take a break as everything was moving so fast. Constant tension. A few sub plots set up for the next episodes. Raw emotion from Zendaya's performance.
Nightmare Alley (2021)
Very slow, very boring
Positives were the good acting and sets but the storyline was so empty and boring. I was waiting for anything to happen for about 2hrs. Definitely would never watch it again.
After Life (2019)
Really good but gets repetitive in season 3
I really like this show and I'll still watch it but I get tired of the whole, wake up, watch videos of wife, mope around being depressed, go talk to the lady and the cemetery and basically say the exact same thing you always say. Then repeat.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Boring and unmemorable
Started off decently then just felt like a bunch of random fighting scenes combined with no real plot. It's the first film I've seen in awhile where I really wanted to leave the cinema.
I'd give this one a miss if I were you.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
The best fun I've had in the cinema in a long time
There was an amazing atmosphere and reaction to this movie after all the hype it had produced over the past few months. You will definitely not be disappointed. The reason I'm not giving it a ten is that certain scenes I felt could have been done better and after hearing the opinions of two friends who have never seen a Spider-Man movie before I can see where they are coming from. Some scenes were rushed and didn't really make that much sense (portal scene).
Dune (2021)
Boring, slow and didn't understand what was happening (no prior experience with the books or movies)
It was visually impressive but it was very slow and boring in my opinion. For a lot of it I didn't understand where they were going or what their goals were, the people I saw the movie with agreed. A lot of the scenes I couldn't make out what they were saying and after awhile I gave up trying to understand it. I watched some explanation videos and there was a lot of references to the books or other movies and it's like we were expected to understand the world that it was based in. But I had no clue!
Probably an interesting watch for someone who's read the books but I don't plan on watching it again.
The Father (2020)
The best, most thought provoking movie I have watched in a long while
I had such a mix of emotion watching this movie. In parts it's strange and almost horror movie like. Other parts are very emotional. The fantastic acting of Anthony Hopkins makes the portrayal of a elderly man suffering with mental illness so very real.
I'd recommend this movie to everyone.
Escape Room: Tournament of Champions (2021)
Way worse than the first movie
I watched the original movie multiple times as it was an easy watch with decent enough acting. This sequel was just boring and predictable. The concepts gets old quick and the twists are mostly all predictable.
I found a lot of the actors annoying too. In some of the rooms they were just so manic you could barely hear what was happening or follow what they were doing.
Also noticed some editing mistakes like when the main girl is touching the sharp diamonds and cuts herself. They play audio of her voice but she doesn't move her lips. Just makes the movie look cheap.
Solar Opposites: The Unlikely Demise of Terry's Favorite Shot Glass (2021)
Just so frickin outrageous and funny
From start to finish there was none stop hilarious references and funny scenes. The creme egg, lightning McQueen, the whole handmaids tale on the signs.
Great character development and twists also which set up well for upcoming episodes.
Horrible Bosses 2 (2014)
Pretty bad
I watched the first movie right before this one and it's basically the same jokes repeated, nothing new and everything was so predictable. After awhile the whole joke of them being bumbling idiots who talk over each other and make stupid decisions stops being funny.
Love, Death & Robots (2019)
Most binge worthy show ever
Such an amazing and weird show. First two episodes I found a bit boring but after that every episode is a ridiculously creative, strange and mysterious. It's like black mirror x10. The short episodes make it easy to watch also.
Solar Opposites (2020)
Amazing show, way better than the most recent Rick and morty series
Loving this show I think it deserves a higher rating, especially with Rick and Morty being in the 9's.
I just love the characters and how far they take everything, and all their random sci fi rays.
I like Rick and Morty too but I think series 2 of this is much better than the most recent R&M season.
Love, Death & Robots: The Tall Grass (2021)
Boring and not as good as season 1s episodes
Just a bit boring. In an episode that short you need to move fast like the witness of zima blue in series 1. This took awhile to get going and not much happened.
The animation was very cool though.
Midsommar (2019)
I loved it
Absolutely loved this movie. If your into that sort of disturbing horror that doesn't rely on jump scares then you'll like this. I thought Jack Reynor's acting was amazing also.
Love, Death & Robots: The Drowned Giant (2021)
Bit boring but decent watch
Interesting watch and good narration but a bit boring overall and not much happens.
WandaVision: The Series Finale (2021)
Average ending
I expected more. The way the series was progressing mid way through I thought it would be a crazy good ending. But it just bored me a little.
The Speed Cubers (2020)
Interesting watch
Great story about friendship and how someone with a social disability can develop their personal skills and find their passion. Amazing how Max struggled with fine motor skills as a child then is solving a rubik's cube one handed in under 7 seconds years later.
Rick and Morty: The Vat of Acid Episode (2020)
Amazing episode that takes the central concept so far
Potentially the best episode of the season. Love how far they took the main storyline and all the twists within it
Chernobyl (2019)
Absolutely Amazing!
Highly recommend everyone to watch. Every scene is just perfect with the perfect mix of drama and raw emotions.

The Young Offenders (2018)
Hilarious every single episode
Watched every episode as soon as they came out. Loved the humour in it and can't wait to re-watch the series!
