Don't Look Up (2021)
1/10
Don't Look Up means don't bother with again!
30 December 2021
This film is billed as a " comedy drama " no comedy and the only drama is how could anybody look at this script and give it the go ahead.

I watched till the end to save others from doing the same.

Other apocalypse films have been done so much better.

It's rubbish. And the best bit was the end.

A Great Gem Of 60s TV
10 June 2021
I want go over again what the premise of the show is about as it's been told over and over.

What I will say it's a hidden Gem of British Sci-Fi from the 60s. It has great lead actors and storylines that aren't too far fetched ( if you discount the lead actors powers. )

I've recently rediscovered it on ITV4 because although I watched it when it first came out I was little and only could remember it as if it was a dream.

Well the reality is as good as the dream.

Watch it you won't be disappointed.

This is terrible.
5 June 2021
I'd have given it a zero if that was possible. If this is a comedy give me a tragedy any day. I wasted my money and a hour and a half of my life watching this doggy do, do.

The plot is about Paul who is about to be knighted by the Queen and then things start to go wrong with " hilarious " consequences.

It thinks it's clever ( it's not ) it thinks it's funny ( it's definitely not ) it's drivel.

They say comedy like any art form is subjective but if you like this sort of comedy then you may be suffering from a form of depression.

I am now suffering after watching it.

Needless to say avoid like the plague and watch his old stuff when he was good.

Resident Alien (2021– )
9/10
Great start. Hopefully will carry in the same way.

Warning: Spoilers
This is refreshing, funny and intelligent comedy drama about an alien sent to destroy all life on Earth that crash lands and has to mix with the people he was originally sent to kill.

I've only watched the first two episodes because it's so new but it has all the makings of being very good indeed.

The interaction between him and a small boy the only one in town that can see him in his true form is very funny and you can see this is going to be a running gag as the series goes on.

The child is increasingly becoming braver and braver and you can see the aliens determination to shut him up is going to be very funny.

His interaction with other people is funny as well as he tries to fit in but so far he's definitely finding it a struggle.

His aim is to find the bomb destroy life on Earth and then go home. In the mean time he must hide as a doctor and figure out how to kill the only person in town that can see him.

It's a great start hopefully it will carry on in the same way. Well worth a look anyway.

Greenland (2020)

I've seen worse.
7 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
What better to watch during lockdown than a film about the end of the world?!

It's basically about a ordinary family with ordinary problems that have been picked to survive Armageddon.

Good news you'd think but of course that would be so boring their child is diabetic so when they do get to the airbase that will take them away and of course get separated the mother is told they are being refused entry because of his condition.

Then it's a par for the course movie as they move separately to her fathers. Coming across the usual end of the world problems like looters and people that will do anything to get on that plane themselves.

In the end they manage to get on a private plane that will take them to the secret base on Greenland. But of course they have more problems to face before that happens.

But they get inside just in time as these things happen and in the end the bunker doors open for the survivors to face a brave new but crispy world.

One thing that bugged me though if the kid was refused in the first place because I assume their wasn't that much medication in the bunker why do we see them walk out 9 months later with no problems?

It was ok and strangely enough not too depressing considering the subject matter.

But if you are expecting an action adventure then you will be disappointed the dynamics of the film really just revolve the family with a few action sequences thrown in but few and far between.

Robin Hood (2018)

The Worst Robin Hood film ever
24 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
It's got a bad script, ludicrous battle scenes with machine gun arrow launchers, Robin actually got drafted! I kid you not and received his call up papers.

Sorry this Robin Hood is total rubbish and only worth a 5 because you can still watch it ( just )

A waste of great acting talent what they must have been thinking appearing in this giant cow pat is anyone's guess.

It's actually set up for a sequel but don't waste your money buying this tripe it's the best unintentional comedy I've seen though.

Bergerac (1981–1991)
6/10
Great Actor but shows a bit dated now.
23 March 2019
I grew up with Bergerac and like your first love you have fond memories of it.

But it's very much of its time with poor mediocre scripts and poor picture quality ( due to probably being filmed on tape )

That said I continue to watch them on Drama channel becuse they are a time capsule of the 1980s when I grew up and nothing beats nostalgia!

John Nettles is a very fine actor and a very pleasant man to meet and he was a great ambassador to jersey where it was filmed and a great historian writing about the occupation of the Channel Islands.

Watch them for the memory's if nothing else.

Deadpool (2016)

DeadPool The Super, Superhero.
7 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
DeadPool takes the " Superhero " Chandra by the balls and rips them off!

It's funny, nasty, sick in places and totally irreverent to the genre its meant to present.

In short it's a breath of foul air in an over sanitized series of films.

After you've have had the DeadPool experience every other Superhero is just so weak.

In this outing Deadpool suffers a personal loss of such proportions that he seeks to end his life in many sick and funny ways.

Saved by his Metal friend from the first film he joins the X-Men as a " trainee " with many hilarious results.

Watch and enjoy!

The Weapon Hunter (2015– )

A Great Show
6 April 2018
Most documentaries about weapons are very dry. This man who oozes love for the subject shows you how the weapons worked under battlefield conditions and also visits some really stunning private collections.

I'm not a gun nut as such but I have a great interest in military history and this show certainly brings it to life.

I really hope there is a season 3.
