Terrible Trash!
1 February 2007
Warning: Spoilers
It is sad when such a great actor as Peter O'Toole seemingly will end his days in such terrible trash as this mess of a picture. The film suffers from a lousy script filled with enough filth to keep the vulgar minded happy! We suffer through vulgar scenes such as a doctor preparing his gloved hand for a rectal examine and O'Toole's legs twinging as he proceeds with the examination, making me wonder whether the director actually enjoys his rectal examines since he filmed the scene with such detail and precision.

This film is a jewel as an example of what is wrong with the culture of today. If it is watched as an expose on what our society has fallen to, it is bad enough. If on the other hand it is watched for enjoyment worse still.

O'Toole does a great job, as usual, bringing the dirty old man character to life but little else makes this film worth watching. One has to wonder why O'Toole would lower himself to such films. Perhaps it is true that film roles for older people are lacking but it would have been much better if he retired gracefully from the screen then to be seen in such miserable fare as this.

An Imaginative Low Budget Feature!
8 May 2006
This film is a pretty good example of low budget film-making at its best.

The script is very imaginative and the jokes are pretty good.

The cast performances are a bit uneven in that some of the actors aren't actors at all, but the film proves to be a fun jaunt through the wacky mind of its writer and director Michael Legge!

The animated scenes are well done and the use of some post production effects work well considering the story at hand.

The scenes containing Michael Legge work well and the film really comes alive when he is on screen.

Plater's apparent extremist political views come through disastrously in this weak sequel.
9 August 2005
Warning: Spoilers
This last installment is not up to the original in several ways. It is not as funny, rather short on laughs, and the authors apparent political leanings are in your face evident! I assume because of the success of the first mini-series, The Beiderbecke Affair, Plater was emboldened to throw in his apparent extremist political beliefs into this one.

Jill calls her baby Carl after lovable Carl Marx. That's real normal if you're a communist! In the first series Big Al was hinted at being a communist calling everyone "brother" and I believe he even makes some out-and-out comments. Jane was suppose to be liberal and be a conservationist.

In this one she is an out-and-out communist and then makes several oxymoronic statements about being for "peace" and "democracy." Jill also dislikes the mere mention of morals, no wonder she's a communist! I'm sorry, but this was really a disappointment! Plater used this series to push his socio-political beliefs in the guise of a comedy mini-series.

Great response documentary! Just the facts!
9 June 2005
Warning: Spoilers
This was a very well made documentary which exposes the truth behind the motives of the heavily biased Michael Moore. It factually unravels all the lies, and half truths that Moore used to create his unsuccessful propaganda film. (It would have been successful had Bush been voted out of office.) People who loved Moore's film probably don't care that it contains so many errors and false statements because their hatred is such that the truth does not matter. However, if you are a fair minded person and believed that Moore's film was all in all accurate then you may be very interested in watching this movie. It goes step by step through the distortions and lies and reveals how Michael Moore tried to subvert the truth by creating his own manipulated history of events to make President Bush look bad.

This film has interviews with people in the know who explain the truth and correct the blatant errors of Moore's film. It also shows excised film from footage that Moore used in order to put his own negative spin on events. The truth is revealed in the well made documentary.

Mildly Amusing Film.
4 April 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I like Goldie Hawn and wanted another one of her films, so when I saw Protocol for $5.50 at Walmart I purchased it. Although mildly amusing, the film never really hits it a stride. Some scenes such as a party scene in a bar just goes on for too long and really has no purpose.

Then, of course, there is the preachy scene at the end of the film which gives the whole film a bad taste as far as I'm concerned. I don't think this scene added to the movie at all. I don't like stupid comedies trying to teach me a lesson, written by some '60's burn out especially!

In the end, although I'm glad to possess another Hawn movie, I'm not sure it was really worth the money I paid for it!

Lots of Fun!!!
5 February 2005
This Michael Legge film was lots of fun! I have seen this movie several times and it only gets better each time I watch it.

Legge uses broad humor to tell his story and it works, we have lots of spoofing and some farce and good old sight gags thrown in for good measure. Monty Python meets the Three Stooges and the Marx Brothers all rolled into one crazy, silly adventure.

The actress, Lorna Nogueira, who plays Honey does a good job playing both aspects of her character first a child in a woman's body, and then a top secret agent! And Legge plays a very humorous villain, who although is very evil and bad, you start feeling sorry for because of all the things he has to go through!

The supporting cast of characters are all fun to watch. Good viewing!

The President's Man (2000 TV Movie)
Great movie!
18 November 2004
Don't listen to all the trumped up bad reviews for this film! I'm convinced they are mostly from Norris haters because he is a known Republican!

The film is great. It is better than the TV series Texas Ranger. It is just like a movie in the theaters except it has abrupt cuts to black where a commercial might be.

The film is a mix of the James Bond style movie with American military action films. It has humor and excitement and is just a fun romp. The main characters are pretty well conceived and are well acted.

If this had been a planned series, I'm sorry it never materialized.

It is a good family entertainment and could very well have been a film release. It is better than some of the latest Steven Seagal movies by far and has some good action scenes. 8 out of 10!

Very Funny!
7 September 2004
I can't honestly say I was a big fan of Dorf, but not having seen Tim Conway in too much lately, I picked up a copy of this film, and what a wonderful surprise I received. It was a riot!

Tim Conway is one of the funniest comics ever. I love his sense of humor and I found this tape really very funny, laugh out loud funny. Tim is the Man! His "little" Dorf character is great and never gets old and of course his old man character named Flash in this one is always great fun to watch.

It was very clever and filled with visual comedy. I loved it. I'm now going to see if I can find more of his Dorf videos. Eric Bruno Borgman

Sorry, but this one sucks!
5 August 2004
This movie was really bad. Anyone who voted a 10 one this one either owns stock in the movie, or has a severe head injury. It was so slow and plodding I could barely sit through it.

The acting is even bad, it's hard to break this film down into what works and what doesn't because all of it doesn't work! Brosnan plays a creepy character and I guess there could be a surprise or two, but the movie plods so badly that it is hindered by it.

Hitchcock is nowhere to be found. The best non-Hitchcock film is Charade. Check it out, but forget this one. I paid $5.50 for it on DVD and I feel like I've been robbed!

Good Rutger Film!
18 July 2004
Rutger's the MAN! I found this film at Best Buy about 4 or 5 months after September 11th, and it just hit the spot! I had never heard of the movie but being a Rutger fan I usually will spend the money to add his films to my ever growing collection. Sometimes he's the only thing that adds to the life of some very dreary films and he's in a bunch of them. The '80's however seems to have been his decade and this film is a pretty good outing for him.

It is in the B-Movie range, for sure, but it works well. Gene Simmons plays a great villain. The action and pacing of the film works well, and frankly the subject matter couldn't be more up-to-date.

I wish they were making more movies like this today where the terrorists get what they deserve and the audience can enjoy the pay back and feel like they are participating in the action.

The very end of the film is great and it certainly is a statement that works even better today. I think most people would feel the same way as Rutger does at the end of this movie and want to do the same thing. I certainly did!

For fans of action and/or Rutger hunt this movie down!

I wish they were making films like this now!!!
14 July 2004
Well made basically reality based film that plays out with a good pace. Chuck Norris is only one of many really in this film but he does get to strut his stuff in a few scenes. A few holes in the script though and the thugs are portrayed too nice in some ways which I can only imagine was to prevent outrage by real people from the group of people the terrorists were suppose to be from.

All in all an exciting and revealing film that was ahead of it's time. I wish they were cranking films of this quality and story type out now! I recommend it.

Really bad and really BORING!
30 June 2004
Sorry folks, but this movie was not the Star Trek of just a few years ago. It was so boring, a yawner! I waited the whole film for something to happen and when it finally did, I could care less. This is not one of the 50 minute TV shows that used to get a little boring with all the talk, talk, talk, which would mercifully end at the top of the hour. This is a movie, they can't make talk fests out of them and expect them to be good.

The Captain seemed out of character too, what was the deal with him being so happy in the beginning? And Data, boring, he ceased to be interesting when half the movie was about him and him! Then you had Picard and Picard why didn't the writers think to bring in Will and Will?

All in all a very lousy movie. I thought the last one was bad, but this one was really, really bad.

How sad, that the advertised last voyage ended up as bad as Star Trek the Motion Picture!

Pretty good tale.
30 June 2004
Surprisingly, I missed this movie when I was a kid. I saw Krull instead, to bad because this movie was better.

It was very entertaining if not somewhat predictable. The special effects were quite good and mostly held up to todays standard. I wished Ralph Richardson was in it a little more than the 20 minutes he was. And the old man who played the servant was a riot! He wasn't on screen long enough either.

One part I liked was showing the end of paganism and the beginning of Christianity. It was well done and didn't make Christianity the bad guy like the evil Bishop in the great film Ladyhawke. And they called sorcery what it is, "the black arts."

All in all it was enjoyable watching.

This is funny and fun action romp!
2 June 2004
This film is a great movie to pass the time! I was really pleasantly surprised. I bought it for $6.00 at Best Buy on a whim! I hadn't heard of the film and thought the worst after reading the three comments on here about it.

However, I'm always willing to give a new film a try and I'm glad I did! I didn't expect such a funny and quirky action movie. The cover doesn't lie about there being non-stop action. The pace of this film keeps moving.

Martin Kove is a delight to watch as the vicious yet soft hearted, dim wit of a robbing, murdering thug for hire. He is great! The best work I've seen him do although I basically only know him from one television role. After seeing his brilliant performance in this film, I can't understand why he's not in more films.

If you prefer to see a more serious action film or drama then this movie is not for you. I expected a lousy film and ended up with a delightful romp, of quirky characters, silly word play and lots and lots of action fun. Good movie!

Not too good.
31 May 2004
With two sets of flashbacks, count them two sets of flashbacks interspersed throughout the movie the last one catching up to where the movie begins in the present, it just makes a garbled mess. Kind of like the last sentence.

I like Peter Gallagher and Elizabeth Shue, but she had such a small role and he couldn't save the convoluted mess that movie just seems to be told out of sequence like it is.

The cinematography is nice if that's any consolation! I bought my copy at Walmart for $5.50 and I can't honestly say I'll ever watch it again. I can't recommend it, but I won't condemn it either.
