Don't expect sci-fi!
21 July 2021
It's a drama that depicts the delusional psychology commonly associated with a sociopath and the "Stockholm syndrome" when migrants fight over territories.

Heartwarming story!

Do old men still got what it takes?

The first chapter of the story is rather misleading and awkward, but don't be fooled by that! In the calmest of waters... Without spoiling the story you can expect, mcguyverism, a back to the futures view to a fight club and Steven Seagal, some echo of a taxi driver and Jean Claude Van Damme. Perhaps it has been done in some ways before, but I don't care. This is heartwarming nostalgia, fast paced action and humor all in one movie. I give it 9/10 because of the awkward beginning.

Dear Bruce Willis!

You used to be on the top. Cool like Jean Claude Van Damme, hard like Steven Seagal, a fighter like Dolph Lundgren! Why do you participate in stuff like this? If times are hard, just ask for money on one of the crowd funding sites and I'll give you money for making the epic movies I remember from my youth. Do no embaress yourself with uninspired crap like this. I give this movie a generous 4/10 just because it's you. Please leave Hollywood and make real movies instead. You almoust made me cry this time. :(

Killer robots
19 September 2020
The story doesn't make sense and there's no logic. But it has killer robots. If you like stories about robots who intend to destroy humanity you can give it a go even though the robots are surprisingly bad at killing humans. Do not expect too much because it will probably not win any prize.

Mad Max asian style
18 September 2020
I didn't care that much for Train to Busan 1. Don't get me wrong because it wasn't bad although a bit boring. This on the other hand is more exciting. The apocalypse is here and it is in a Mad Max scenario with a criminal eventually becoming a hero out of necessity and guilt. Bad times make men better themselves! This is not unreserved praise because they dragged out the ending a bit trying to make it heartwarming - but instead I found it rather cringeworthy.

Enjoyable Fantasy
10 September 2020
A really good sequel to Qimen Dunjia from 2017. If you haven't seen it watch that movie first. This is high quality fantasy and I'm surprised the (re)viewers are so few. Marshal arts mixed with magic in an immersive story, need I say more? Go watch it!

If you enjoy horror from 1980-1990
12 April 2020
There was a time when people were scared of dark shadows, before ultra violence and gore got popular. It was the 1980's. But is this really horror? No not really. There's some really funny parts full of sarcasm and irony, but I'm not sure if it's ment to or unintended. It borrows from the series "Charmed", "Sabrina the teenage witch" and "Supernatural" - you should not expect it to be better than those series even though there are some famous actors present like Eric Roberts and Michael Madsen. With the right expectations it's kind of alright but not for everyone.

Was expecting more ...
22 March 2020
With both Jean Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren in the same movie I was expecting more hard core boxing, karate kicks, and people being beaten with sticks - perhaps with some exaggerated explosions in the background. I'm so sad these cool action heroes are getting too old to make the good old action they used to produce. The script? When it comes to hard core action who really cares about the script as long as the traitors bite the dust in a most spectacular way?

Nothing compares to a zombie

Sinéad O'Connor is jailed on a prison island far away from civilization, where some shady doctors perform medical experiments on the inmates in less than sanitary conditions.

I like it!

If you enjoy Wrong turn, The hills have eyes and Texas chainsaw massacre this is the same type of movie. Is it as disgusting and evil as those other horror movies? - I'm not sure, but a lot of people die in horrible ways. Sometimes the deaths are portrayed a bit humorous and it works, adding a tone to the raw violence. The movie has been influenced by other horror films and is in no way unique. But I like it.

Depending on your mood it can perhaps be an okay movie

Never expect a sci-fi movie to make sense.

The movie has a lot of nonsense to the story. Some of the characters act in a very illogical way. The reason they act in such a way is partially explained by way of a conspiracy (and a weird script). Some of the story is nonsensical filler, that makes you search for a deeper meaning that isn't there. The movie does not become embarrassing, but it's pretty close to. I give this movie a generous 4 stars because it's so unique, odd and it's a bit better than the average B-movie. Don't expect too much and you will hopefully not get disappointed.

Andron (2015)

When is there a part two of this?
11 June 2016
We are beginning to see some more films in this new and popular genre of dystopian adventure and action - with the story centered around a maze as the core of the story plot. Other films that comes to mind are: The Hunger Games, Divergent and The Maze Runner series. Andron fits in nicely with these films and adds with its own unique interpretation of Dystopia.

The movie begins with ten contenders waking up in a maze with no memory of who they are and what life they used to live. Slowly their memories comes back and they begin to work towards a common goal; to get out of the maze.

The film is an original and does not borrow from the other films in the genre, at least not intentionally - not counting the maze part of the movie. If you like adventure, action, sci-fi and dystopia this is for you.
