Flavorful Origins (2019)
I adore this show 100%
Beautiful settings, real people, delicious food what's not to love about everything?! Its a beautiful show and I hope they do many more episodes in many different locations. I'm so pleased to have found something so beautiful both in culture and cinematography!
You Were Never Really Here (2017)
Joaquin Phoenix is at his best
Please beware there may be spoilers.
I was moved by this movie. As others have said certain aspects seemed weak, the plot for example. The story however was so strong and so badly needed to be told. Phoenix gave such a passionate, all or nothing performance that honestly this is one of my favorite films of his as far as the artistry and acting.
He connects so strongly with the young girl that its palpable on the screen. This felt so incredibly real, without the fluff that seems to usually come with these types of movies. Injuries seemed realistic, the pain of the characters, the agony of the story. All in all give it a watch if you can handle the subject matter
Super Cyclone (2012)
Wow.....just... wow..
If I could give this a negative review I would. This script was written by someone who heard a lot of science words but had no idea what any of them meant, threw them together on paper and then handed then to half a dozen actors they instructed to speak imaginary 'southern' before going to a rudimentary college CGI class and said, we dont really give a flying F about this movie or logic so just make it flashy. They set this in California supposedly but even used a radar image of a hurricane over Florida.
Story insultingly moronic, science was nonexistent, acting was infuriating, and for Gods sake there was dust flying up behind the tires when they were supposed to be driving in the 'rain'.
I've seen bad movies, but this this one honestly made me either laugh or shake my damn head in disgust.
Cowboys vs Dinosaurs (2015)
Undiscovered and amusing gem.
Not sure if there are spoilers. But there's my warning.
While the CGI leaves much to be desired in this unique little movie, I truly enjoyed the original story line, love triangle, and corrupt officials.
However, my true enjoyment came at the expense of Kelcey Watson/Kelcivious Jones who truly made this film his own with an amazing performance (with its otherwise average acting)with the character of Quaid. His character's humor, self sacrifice, and emotional strength truly made his character a touchable figure in a movie that would have otherwise passed into mediocrity. I applaud his performance for both amusing me and for giving strength to a movie that has a man riding a dinosaur on the cover.
I honestly would watch a movie about Quaid's return by himself though he wasn't necessarily the 'focal point' of this movie. If they make a sequel he should be the lead man. It would be quite a sight to see.
