I hate it whey they make "nerd"shaming okay and that all
18 July 2021
I have seen this "trend" a lot in western TV series, this is a serious problem and everyone is just so... sickeningly okay with it. I wonder how people don't see that this is in a way endorsing bullying in schools and that all for people who they call "nerd".

Absolute Gem Hidden Under the Worst Trailer Ever!!!
13 May 2020
DO NOT TRUST THE TRAILER!

I would start with that. I almost not watch this because I thought this is going to be just a cliche, superficial, ugly duckling turned into a diamond swan kind a thing. IT IS NOT! It is clever, deep, funny, and spectacular. Unlike the title itself, it's actually satisfying.

Nothing to Tell at All
6 January 2018
Watching this makes me feel like I am watching a compilation of other stories and movies combined into one in a terrible sequence. For this one, nothing is told at all. I mean, it's such a drag and in the end, there was just nothing interesting.

This is exactly an obvious of a plain thing tries to be cool. I don't even change my opinion about it since the first one. I thought I would change my mind because of the third episode. But no, it was the same terrible.

A zombie problem, check. Betrayal, check. Memory loss, check. Flash backs, check.

Everything is so predictable to the point i almost convinced myself that i have a talent in prophecy. Man, seriously... this sucks bad.

Three Stars Only for Music, Cinematography, and Costumes
6 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Besides the plagiarism and infringement, there are so many things that is wrong and uncomfortable about this drama. The characters are all so 2D. The reasons between the main characters' actions are just too unrealistic, like... i know this is fiction, but it's just so bad. They let bad people live near to them so they can keep making problems and forgiving them easily. The innocent people are so easily punished for whatever trivia reasons.

Okay here are some of the cringy moments that made me keep saying "the hell?" For each second of that: 1. Li Jing was seduced by Xuan Nu and so fucking easily believed her lies. I mean, if you love someone that much, at least you would communicate and clarify, not to sleep around with the person who bad mouthed her. 2. Mo Yuan chose not to kill Qing Chang but seal him in the fucking bell? And what the hell are other gods doing in that battle? They have 8 lands and 4 seas? And only the sky people went to war? Oh, and not to mention they don't kill Xuan Nu for her betrayal... and she just became the queen? Hello ,Li Jing? 3. Also, about the many lives they have, oh man... the idea is great. But the execution is very weak. Su Su just trusted Su Jin so much though Ye Hua's warned her? Dumb. Or made dumb by the writer who is also... dumb? And Ye Hua kept Su Jin around her remember? So she kept making troubles. I am laughing in sarcasm! 4. Oh and talking about Su Jin, i am definitely shipping Ye Hua and Su Jin together (still no idea why Ye Hua hated Su Jin in the first place). The character I hate the most was that Su Su/Si Yin/Bai Qian who has the temperament of an emo girl. She saw Li Jing was seduced by Xiao Nu and chose to just go the fucking away without having any fight over him. When she was Su Su, she decided to leave her just born son! For whatever reason I still can't understand (oh, so the story will sound more tragique), i hate her the most since this. A woman who left her son like that was never good. She's evil. And she decided to forget everything using the help of Zhe Yan. Again, when Ye Hua was seen with the Su Su imposter made by Su Jin, she just decided to sulk and don't want to talk to him over such a trivia matter. Oh man, that's not love. That's just ego and foolishness. I was really cheering for Su Jin and Feng Jiu, they both fight for their love. Not like that bitch who was just an emo girl and made people who love her felt miserable for loving such a dark hearted person. Seriously, the main characters are so hateable. 5. Oh before that, Ye Hua's dad decided to tell the God's King to punish him to the mortal world? I was really upset about this foolish plot so that he story can be prolonged. I mean... okay i don't think i need to explain this. It was jsut so dumb. 6. The final battle? When Li Jing was fighting his dad, what are others doing again? Those soldiers? Just watching... like it's a show. And of course Li Jing lost. Amazingly weird plot. 7. Also the battle at Ruo Shui? They only bring that much of people? And for 70000 years, no one invented anything to deal with the bell or qing chang? Seriously? See how internet and medicine and stuffs evolvement in earth for just less than 100 years. 8. And that goes to the logic of human lives and god lives and the time difference between them. It was like 10 days there was already how many years? Right? But remember in the first episodes, Si Yin and Zi Lan were pretending to be human in the market doing prophecy. Assumingly that was such an age without so much technology advancement (see the lifestyle of people around), but then 70000 later (Bai Qian was made amnesia by Qing Chang and became human), she lived in the same world? Like the human life doesn't change at all. That was just such a big goof. And then another thousands of years, Ye Hua in human form still lives in the same era. Yeah? Extremen plot hole.

I could go on and on about how it was so bad, but oh well it's long enough for people to understand my reasons for such a bad review. And those 3 stars only go for: 1. Costumes + Setting 2. Cinematography 3. Music + Happy Ending

And for the 58 such a long episodes. Thumbs down.

Unnecessary & Draggy Zombie-Wanna-Be Movie
30 December 2017
I just don't understand why they did it like this. It's like nothing is here, nothing, nothing but a terrible unbearable torture 80% of the movie. I didn't get it why Peeta must be there at all, and the hell are they doing, and suddenly it becomes a zombie or alike movie where the characters die one by one.

And suddenly there's twist that's also not very twisted, and everyone is like losing their own characters. This is so stupid, they should just combine it into one movie. Everything in this movie is not neccessary and too draggy (yes, it's like they keep repeating the same thing over and over again like the audience don't get it), and the relationship between Peeta and Katniss? It just portrayed really bizzarely.

It's so empty, I couldn't empath a bit from the perspectives of the characters. It all went down after Catching Fire, they said. Well, I still give Mockingjay part 1 8 stars, it gives emotional waves throughout the movie, but this?

No. No. No. This is a big mistake. It just makes everything about Hunger Games goes unappreciated. I give this 3 stars, but actually for the fun ride for those 3 previous movies. This one. None. Not even Jeniffer Lawrence or Julliane Moore could save it.

It's Not the Same, But It's Fine.
29 December 2017
I walked out of the cinema feeling amazed, because I felt like there were climax after climax after climaxes in the movie. The comedy parts were on point, the characters were on point (not all, but I like how they were presented), though there were some "what the?" moments, I could brush it off (I mean, come on... remember in the I to VI there were also moments when you're like, "seriously, that's it?" so why being harsh on this one).

It's not the same, yes. But it doesn't make it bad. I still like how it portrays that the hero is not a single person with a light saber (and others are just cameos). So many people contributed to the cause, i think that's a good message! And how the characters are developing (Poe and Finn), and the relationships between the characters. Isn't that what makes the Star Wars universe so engaging?

I'm not sure why so many hatreds for the movie. I think I have moments in the movie when i was holding my breath because I think it's really cool, and the pace is so edgy. I watched this after a two-week marathon watching the other 8 earlier episodes, and it's worth it!

Maybe, just be open-minded when you watch this. Don't expect it'd be the same as before... it'd be different, it'd be new, don't compare it to the other episodes. It's not fair.

A Well-Done Addition to Star Wars Universe!
26 December 2017
I will start with "I AM A NEW STAR WARS FAN", because of the hype for "The Last Jedi", I've marathon-watched the whole Star Wars from I - VII for 2 weeks and just today finished this. I must say it gives a quite good coverage to the whole story, I'm pretty fresh about it because I just watched Star Wars IV that follows what's told in this Rouge One.

And I totally love this movie, why? It's because we can see how big is the Star Wars universe. Yes, I know some people are disappointed because there's no lightsaber fight, or not much Jedi scene, or whatever else. But I personally love the idea that focus on the point telling that it's not only the Jedi that contributes to the victory in the war. There are so much more of it and it gives life to Star Wars.

I"d like to see more about it, not only the Jedi and Sith and so on, but the whole universe of Star Wars. I think that's what makes Star Wars very engaging, it's because of its universe. And I love the characters too, especially K2!

I mean, guys, why not??? And may the force be with all of us!!!

It's a Clever Concept Executed Smartly and Packaged Wonderfully
13 December 2017
When I heard that there's another movie about vampires, it won't catch my interest anymore, until this! It's so smart, the plot and storyline are simple but clever, it makes you want to know more about the characters and their lives (wait, they're undead, so it's supposedly 'deaths'). Each character gives more life to the story, their relationship is lovely. It actually portrays the basic basic things in life, but because it's another world, it becomes interesting. However, also thumbs up to the execution and packaging of the idea, it won't be as interesting if it's not done well. The documentary style, the dialogue, the whole of it is just nice to be followed. I can see how this will be easily a popular series if it's invested better. Seriously, it's so clever. You'd want to watch more!!!

Too Many Things That Feel OFF
21 November 2017
I tried my best to enjoy the film. I love Dana DeHaan, but this time even he can't save the movie. Everything feels so superficial, there are really smart ideas and creativity, but sadly the execution was not done well.

The chemistry of the characters are off, everything is too fast and too distant. I can't barely see the conflicts in this movie as something important. The script, the music, the plot, they're just not compatible to the ideas. The atmosphere of the movie does not have enough gravity to drag me into that world.

And one more thing, why is everyone human in the movie putting the same serious, sharp, cold, and so on expression when they are conversing with each other? At least half of the movie. I mean, what's the idea of the personality for the characters they want to have in this movie. Everyone kind of have the same personality it feels not alive. Or that's just what Luc Benson wanted us to see? Like, in the future everyone will be like that?

An Ambition In Its Purest Form
5 November 2016
If you are into minutiae, this will be your favorite. The direction makes you feel so close to a situation that's inexplicably unfamiliar. The actors are alive in their characters, their problems aren't shown too little or too big, but perfectly human. So human... it becomes more than interesting.

You'll want to know more but you can't, because it portrays life so deep and life doesn't give answer to every curiosity. I have not enough capabilities to endorse how relevant this movie is. Howsoever, i'll quote a quote shown somewhere in the beginning part of of this movie: "A thing is a thing, not what is said of that thing."

I Don't Understand All the Bad Review, It's Actually Good!
5 January 2015
Watched this movie last night without reading all the reviews first (maybe it's a good thing). And I think this is a really good movie, well yeah at some parts of the movie the expression of Tris was somehow too "stiff", I don't know. But on other parts, she just nailed it. So, no problem at all. She's perfect for the role.

Yes, it's not perfectly perfect or whatever. But I think it's enjoyable and actually good, so I don't know why there're so many bad reviews when I came to check on IMDb.

People are like bashing the movie and everything. Now that makes me thinking, do they really hate the movie after they watched the whole of it with more "objective" mind or because they are going with the "flow" of the bad reviews or whatsoever that they read/heard first before they watch the movie? Or, they have this constant comparison to The Hunger Games while they're watching the movie. Like comparing Tris to Katniss, and the what with the what, if so... then I think it's not the movie's fault.

Well, it's undeniably having a similar concept, but you know what. It's just the way you look into it, I guess. But for me, I'll be waiting for the continuation of this movie. It gets me good!

Makes You Believe that Love is Sweeter than Bitter!
28 December 2014
I believe that this movie serves a deeper purpose rather than only to "entertain" the audience. It leaves warmth in my heart, and especially to the LGBT people, I believe this will bring hope that relationships can be sweet and lovely rather than dark, desperate, burdensome, or sad-ending as usually shown in other LGBT's movies. Simply put, it'll make you fall in love, or make you want to fall in love again, or love to fall in love again. :)

I'm giving this movie 10 because it resonates to me deeply, another reason is because the portrayed relationships between the characters (even with the 'supposedly' antagonists) are feel-able and enjoyable. I'm liking every character in the movie.

The elements put in the movie are lovely, especially (for me) the typewriter. I believe this movie has actually became a timeless classic itself, with the issue of a blind boy's changing life after the arrival a new friend named Gabriel.

The idea of the plot and storyline is nice, and supported by an incredibly sweet execution. This movie is definitely one of my favorites since the first time I saw it. Another salute for Daniel Ribeiro.

P.s. I think the native language (Portuguese) brings better atmosphere in the movie, I'm starting to love this language too.

Muito obrigado!!!

Watch it For Lee Pace, But Fell For Cantica!
26 December 2014
The honest reason for me to watch this movie (again), is Lee Pace, after twice watching without realizing there's Lee Pace in it as Roy (I know, it's ridiculous).

The movie started so beautifully, and ended in a more graceful way. However, it's Alexandria who makes me love the movie. She is just amazing, of course along with all the other actors. She nailed it, she got me fall in love with her. Cantica surely plays her really well!

Furthermore, the story with transitions from reality to fantasy and so on is ultimately enjoyable, the dark side of the issue in the movie is covered in mesmerizing colorful way. The dialogue is believable, the acting is impeccable, the music is heartfelt. What more can I say? I salute Tarsem Singh for this beautiful art.

It is an adventure travelled through the screen where I watched it, it is extremely enjoyable. And makes me want to take another adventure, as I'm going to watch The Cell too. :D

Science Never Looked This Cool Before!
12 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I'm gonna open this with, "It's more than the rating 10 can express!"

Everything about this movie is just right. It combines science with fun and coolness, I bet a lot of kids would want to get into science study more after watching the movie, well... I would if I could get back to the past. Haha!

Furthermore, it has cool soundtracks, nice plot, interesting characters, unpredictable stories, it's super cool.

But the thing I love the most about this movie is that it teaches audience to kill prejudices and stereotypes. Why? Look at the characters, nerd people are unattractive...? Oh hell now. You can see this movie breaks many judgements we're having in the society. There's this tall slim blonde girl, Honey Lemon who's really smart in chemist engineering. And another black man (Wasabi) who is really into following rules (says who they're misdemeanor), and Fred the super rich man who's not that "materialistic". I love all of them.

I don't know this was an adaptation from a comic book, I've never read one. But I think this movie is pretty well done. Some scenes makes you grim, many make you laugh, some others make you teary, all of them are put in the right right right way.

This movie makes me love animation even more. :D

The Only Thing I Like About This Movie Is...... Nothing.
11 November 2014
I gave 3 stars to the movie, each for: 1. its effort 2. originality in solution 3. being generous

Alright, maybe some people or actually a lot of people like zombie movie. That's not a problem for me, i enjoy some of them too.

But when I decided to watch this in the first place, I thought it'd be different and all, I trust Brad Pitt... he has my faith in how he chooses movie he played in.

Yet, everything crumbled after 5 minutes the movie begin. Everything is so typical, the problem... the zombies.

To me it's only full of chasing, running, hiding, a little fighting, chasing again, running again, hiding again, it's just so boring.

Furthermore, am I the only one who dislike the fact that the main character is always being so ridiculously lucky? Almost everyone else die wherever he's going... please be enough with the main character who's always need to be the hero.

I hope I could like this movie better. But I can't, sorry.

I Could Always Re-watch It!
9 November 2014
When I first about to watch it, I thought this will be just another animation movie about werewolf's love with a human. However, I was wrong... it turned out to be far far better than just that.

I didn't expect to enjoy it that much though, but it gets to me. This isn't some dramatique, cheesy, tear-jerking movie. I consider this as a heartbreaking yet lovely adaptation of a single parent daily life with her children.

I won't say that she's in a special condition because her children are actually wolf's descendant because every child is unique and troubling in his/her own way, right?

When I'm watching it, I feel so warm inside because I'd feel the love in this movie. The love from a mom, from a dad, from a son, from a daughter, from neighborhood... it's just beautiful.

I could always re-watch it and still enjoy almost every single story it has in it. Anyway, I'm really expecting for a sequel! I'd totally watch it...! :D

Great Movie That Makes Me Feel Sick.
3 November 2014
I can't say I like this movie because almost all the time while I was watching it, I can barely enjoy it. End to end of the movie makes me feel all the negative emotions: anger, sadness, pity, stress, depression, hopelessness, anxiety, fear, and many more which are I supposed must be felt worse by the characters in the movie. But, I think that's what makes this movie GREAT!

That must be the purpose of this movie, to make people like me know and understand what the Jewish suffered in that time, and not to forget it and help to make sure it won't ever ever ever happen again in the future in any possible ways a mere civilian like me can do. Well, at least maybe by telling people to not feel like they are superior to anyone else! Or by recommending people to watch this? Which I'll of course do.

I've watched some other holocaust-themed movies but haven't this much personally deeply affected until this one. It's so 'not' dramatic it feels so real, I kept thinking about each of the people on the screen, what their lives felt like, what were they feeling, how they survived both physically and mentally. It's a really great portrayal of the worst human tragedy ever known in world war history.

So, yeah... this movie is so great it made me feel sick in my heart. My very condolences and sorry for the victims of event. :(

Enchanting, Wondrous, Spellbinding.
28 October 2014
First of all, I wish this is more popular in my country. This movie has a lot to share in its story and characters. While watching, you'll get flashbacks and flashforwards (if this word even exists) about your own life. It'll give you very many new perspectives about life, about the past, the present, and the future. Of course, without making you feel desperate and stressed.

It's packed really well in the plots, the characters brought the atmosphere to such a heavy and tense but breathable gravity. It talks about facing getting old, expiration of gifts, forgiveness, love, memories, in beautiful ways.

The only thing that makes me let two stars lost from the rating is it's too short, I really want it to be more. I want to see more about the characters in the movie. They are enchanting, their stories are wondrous, their interactions are spellbinding.

Great salute for everyone who made this movie happen.

Better Than The First!!!
27 October 2014
Without degrading the first movie, I will say that I love this one better! It has SURPRISES here and there and coolness and other WOW- ers! Some scenes brought me to tears, some brought a big cheek to cheek smile, some to grimace... so it's like a complete, fast and hysterical dance, yet you don't get exhausted, instead you want more!

It's just lovely, it's just so wonderful!

I love how well put this movie is, the conflict is so relateable with our real life and the characters are strikingly able to leave an awful lot of impressions. I can say each one of them because... well, how rare that we can like almost all the characters in the movie? But, it does... in this one. I love the main character (which is also rare in my case) but the supporting characters are ALL exciting too, I even wish there're more scenes for them. It feels as if everyone is the main character!

So, if you haven't watched this movie. Bring your friends, lovers, family, neighbors, pets! And do it a.s.a.p, you'll fly~

Overwhelmingly Brutal & Mind-blowing
29 September 2014
I had decided not to write a review for this because I thought I would do harm to its greatness with my incapability to describe its quality through this review, but I guess giving no review is worse. Hence, here I go!

I hope I didn't leave anything out by saying it's a perfect mixture of: 1. Strong characters' personalities 2. Quirky storyline 3. Fascinating dark romance 4. Fast-paced but concise at the same time 5. Great actors! 6. Eargasmic music 7. Resonative emotions portraiture 8. Intense atmosphere (right from the beginning)! 9. Mystery/romance/mystery/romance/ genre-less 10. Originality!

And that's why I give it 10. See it by yourself!

It Wasn't As Impressive As The Rating Shows
23 September 2014
Well, how should I put it. First of all, I don't read the book so this is my review solely based on the movie. I think it's good, but that's all... it's not impressive. Still with all respect, I don't find any of the characters have an attractive or interesting personality... I can't feel sympathy for them, the best character still... is Chuck, even him... I feel has weak character in the movie (they are just so typical, and typical in movie is boring in my opinion).

And then, the story is actually interesting in the end, but that's all and it's because I want to know why they are there in the first place. After finding out, I was like... "Okay, so that's why." And like I said, that's all... I don't really want to know anymore. Well, if there's the sequel there are like 30-40% chance I'd go watch it. That's my opinion.

I Can't Find Right Words To Express How I Love This Movie!!!
17 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
It was beyond great and amazing...! And remembering that it's produced in 1997, it makes me honor and respect this movie even... even better. The characters are lovable and hateable, that's how characters in movie should be like.

Some characters are just so "human" I want to slap them in the face, and by saying some, it already includes the good and bad characters. And the imperfection of the characters stance, that is another element that makes this movie works for me.

The storyline is not a plain one character's problem which is typical and weak, it's a multi-sided one that makes you able to view everyone's "importance" in what they are doing and therefore understand the "why" in their actions.

Without forgetting that, what I love most from this movie is the fact that it encourages people to love the environment and not being so greedy with our human's ambition, and it teaches us to understand that our prejudice about what we don't know sometimes is the thing that makes us do bad things, and it shows why people do some bad things and why war happens and... oh my, I can't arrange the right sentence of how great the movie is.

Just watch it!!!

It Could Be Better
17 September 2014
I wish, I really wish I liked it better. I mean, I know from the synopsis that it's not that much original or innovative storyline but yet I still have hope for it. It is still good because of the duration, it's not dragging... but I think it could be better.

The elements are just way too "familiar" and therefore I felt like nothing new is presented by the movie, I must say it feels a little bit of "Alice In The Wonderland" and then some other fairy tales at the other scenes, like... 'hey, it reminds me of...' moments keep happening to me. I thought at least there'd be anything new. But there's none...

The characters also, are not so memorable... , I mean I can get a grasp of their personalities but there is nothing like, impressive... it's like each character personality are adopted from some other characters produced before in another movie.

I'm sorry, but I really think it could be better. Or, I'm just not the target audience for this movie. Maybe...

If you love to watch a movie that makes sense and which characters have right reasoning of actions. DON'T WATCH THIS!
21 June 2013
Reactions of the characters and the 'show off' of the bloody gory killing-dying scenes are such a turn off, especially for me and people who like to watch a movie that actually can make sense and has right reasoning of actions from the characters. I must say that the storyline is so weak, and the 'common senses' of these people are simply below normal, I mean, REALLY! This is a fiction, yet, seriously, it's just too forced to be 'scary' and too unacceptable in almost everything that happens. The occurrences of the events are fantastically annoying, it's like the characters have no survival instinct at all, it seems to me that they even want to die by doing dumb things. Moreover, the scenes are all so predictable and boring, and unbecoming because (again) the characters make it happen thanks to their stupidity. Furthermore, I don't know if the producer or director or whoever that made this movie knows any biology at all, but, I believe if a person loses too much blood, the body won't work properly, right? Oh, but again, maybe the excuse will be the witchcraft. Overall, this movie is terribly unappealing. Maybe it's just not my cup of tea, maybe. Or maybe not.
