Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Subspace Rhapsody (2023)
Such a talented cast!
I had no idea that this cast had such talented singers! I was completely gobsmacked. The whole episode flows so incredibly well. It's a testament to all the clever creators in our Star Trek Universe. The idea that emotional context is reflected as song and dance is so clever. Whenever a new thought or concept arises, a knew song comes up. Even my daughter liked this approach and she's a hard sell!
What I like is that we've gone back to an episodic styled Star Trek with subtle threads throughout the series. Instead of a huge story arc, we have nice, interesting stories that can be watched in isolation without non-trekkers needing to understand the whole Star Trek story.
Keep up the great work!
The Resident: The Flea (2020)
Geez!
I'll say it again, don't go to a hospital! All of Conrad's easy patients have complications! It's never an easy day in the ER! What the heck? If I ever get any of these symptoms, I'll just stay home and let my body heal itself. Maybe Americans go to hospital too often for unnecessary treatments? Anyway, I do love this show, but come on! ;-)
The surgeries in this episode are as usual exceptional. Without giving any spoilers away, it looks so realistic. We used to get pretty grossed out by them, but now there is this fascination of what they're going to do next. Can't wait to see what they come up with next!
Station 19: Eulogy (2020)
Wash, Rinse, Repeat
I feel like I'm seeing the same story over again in this episode. There are a few spoilers here, so please move along if you don't want to be spoilt! :-) We are seeing Pruit. Avoiding facing her grief just like we saw a few episodes ago after the death h of the chief. Then the doc once yet another role within the department. He practically invents a new role too present to an unimpressed chief. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of exciting stuff going on, but it just seems like the writers have forgotten what they did just a few episodes ago. Try better guys and you will retain your viewership.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Great New Beginnings!
I was really excited to hear about this series coming out and couldn't wait. I'm really enjoying the pacing of this new series and very happy with the initial character development. We are getting a much richer and more in-depth view of the characters than we did in the previous Lord of the rings series. Are we going to see Gandolf? That is a very big question. I do think that this is going to take us all over middle earth and beyond! Let's see where this series takes us as obviously it is an interpretation of the existing tales. Anyway, enjoy this one folks! And think on this.....So much better than Wheel of Time!
