A soul catching film. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Bajirao Mastani- 2015 Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Bajirao Mastani is a story of Maratha Warrior Peshwa Bajirao and warrior princess Mastani. Mr. Bhansali has made a lifetime record of perfection and magic together. The war scenes in the film are crafted at high scale with awesome dimensions. He is known to paint his artistic and unique thoughts on cinema screens. This Magnum Opus will melt your heart and leave you numb at the end. With Sheer Brilliance of camera work, direction, screenplay and music composition, it is staggeringly prodigious. The dialogues are Huge & Deep. The credit for Splendid cinematography goes to Mr. Sudeep Chatterjee. Just WOW! The decor and sets are majestic, exquisite and extravagant #Bajirao (a.k.a) Ranveer Singh has nailed it with his pageant and superlative performance. Being a hard core warrior and the most precious thing Maratha's ever had; he fought 41 battles and won all of them. The tragedy begins when this warrior won every challenge in his life but lost himself when fell in love with #Mastani. What Intensity, Pride, Courage, Love all in one man Peshwa Bajirao! He has shown tremendous acting skills and left the audience numb with with his heart-catching work. Loved it. I tip my hat to you Ranveer Singh.

#Mastani (a.k.a) Deepika Padukone is a warrior princess and a lover. Mastani was terrifically brave at heart and sword both. Knowing the fact that loving #Bajirao will make her walk on thorns but still she dared to love Peshwa. Charming & deadly gorgeous Deepika has acted with her eyes. Love shines with every expression given by Mastani. She has given unprecedented nuanced performance. The dialogue delivery by Deepika was totally incredible & unbelievable. She gets humiliated countless times by #Bajirao's family but still her love for him never fell an inch.

#Kashibai (a.k.a) Priyanka Chopra So electrifying. She has done complete justice with her character. Kashibai loves her husband to death. Each time she looks at Raao her face lightens up. When Bajirao fell in love with Mastani, his wife Kashibai doesn't surrender to this. She is angry. She is heart-broken, doleful but still she asked Bajirao to save Mastani's life when some men were sent to Mastani Mahal to brutally kill her. Kashibai surely had generous heart and for the sake of her husbands happiness she accepts the situation as she was aware of the fact that #Mastani has become #Bajirao's weakness. Take a Bow Priyanka Chopra .

Tanvi Azmi has played the mother of Bajirao. She was the villain and a mother both at the same time. Very skilfully and beautifully she has shown the positives and negatives in one character.

Anju Modi has loaded Ranveer Deepika and Priyanka with the most extraordinary costumes.

Mr. Bhansali handles Bajirao's arrogance, Mastani's obsession for Bajirao and Kashi's dignity most sympathetically. Every visual is a Grand painting with music being the soul of the film. The choreographers has put in great energy and marvelous art in making of #Malhari #Pinga and #DeewaniMastani. Every emotion in the film- be it love, virtue or heroism on the battlefield- is translated into grandeur.

After #DDLJ I think Bajirao Mastani deserve to stay glued on cinema screens and complete 1000 weeks.

Tough and Terrific
1 August 2015
NH 10- 2015 Director: Navdeep Singh

Director Navdeep Singh is back with another gritty thriller. Starring Anushka Sharma and Neil Bhoopalam, NH10 is a thriller based on real-life incidents that exposes us to the harsh reality of life. NH 10 is definitely not meant for typical bollywood audience. It is something different. Something combined with fear, love and how a young woman cope with such troublesome situation. When I downloaded the songs I was not expecting the movie to be SO terrifically awesome because the songs were not very catchy but after watching the movie I was speechless. Year 2014 turned the tables and there were many directors who actually played the role of being feminist and made a lot brilliant movies highlighting women and their issues in our society. In Urban areas of countries like India Pakistan Bangladesh etc Honor killing is considered as a pride but unfortunately it is called HEIGHT OF BEING IGNORANT.

Performance-Wise: Anushka Sharma, who also produced the film, delivers a huge, dramatic performance. She displays helplessness with sincerity, but breathers fire when it comes to destroying the villains. This is undoubtedly most power packed performance. Neil Bhoopalam is fairly good in the limited role he appears in. Darshan Kumaar is effortlessly wicked, enacting the chief villain with command. On the whole, 'NH10' is Tough Enough!

'Holiday' a soldier is never off duty- 2014 Director: A.R. Murugadoss Akshay plays Jack Bauer, Sherlock Holmes, Spiderman and Jason Bourne all rolled into one. He is probably one of the best action stars Bollywood has seen reminds us why he is on the highest point of load. Akshay has faced criticism many times for the selection of movies he does but this time am sure people loved him watching in Holiday as Military Agent. The film is all about some real action, suspense and off course a little Thank You to the Military of the respective country. The Director has come up with stirring story-line, action fully packed, sharp editing and masterly cinematography. Sonakshi Sinha looks pretty and sexy wherever required. Govinda gave many laughs. Same goes with Sumeet Raghavan. Freddy Daruwala was perfect as the baddie. Aackruti Nagpal looks hot. The others did their bit as required. A.R Murgadoss directed and he has exquisitely tackled with every scene. Music by Pritam and Background scores are prodigious. RECOMMENDED

Kill Dil (2014)

Lovely songs and cast!
1 August 2015
Kill Dil- 2014 Director: Shaad Ali

Kill Dil finally arrived. It arrived in style or not ? Well yes ! Story is routine. What makes it different are the three men 'Govinda, Ali Zafar Ranveer Singh' !!! The dialogues however, were clever. Shaad Ali's Direction is good. Cinematography & Editing are superbly done. Music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is melodious. The poetry before every song is wisely done.

Performance-Wise: Govinda was amazing- well who doesn't love the way Govinda laughs and threats the other person. Too Good. He delivered his dialogues in a very sharp way. He springs a pleasant surprise. He nails it as the villain.

Ali Zafar was serious yet acted very well and his entry was Bang Bang with sniper in his hands. He will teach you how to be a true friend.

Ranveer Singh is in terrific form, yet again! The talented actor enacts the love-struck young-blood with enviable energy & conviction. Ali Zafar supports Ranveer, wonderfully.

Parineeti Chopra looks gorgeous & delivers a fair performance.

Watch for Deepika and Ranbir!
1 August 2015
Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani- 2013 Director: Ayaan Mukherji

Much more is expected from a writer and director like Ayaan. The movie has a really big star cast - Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Farroq Sheikh, etc but they fail to stimulate except Ranbir Kapoor and Kalki Koechlin. Undoubtedly the film has the best song collection of 2013.

It seemed more focus was given on the dreams of Ranbir as he remained the centre of attention in the movie. Overall the film set, the colors, songs were perfect but story lagged at several points, still it was loved by all despite of having errors in it.

And as usual Aditya Roy Kapoor was found drinking to solve his problems. Eh !!

Beautiful Cinematography

RamLeela- 2013 Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for creating the visual magic in the screenplay, his sets and Cinematography. He is the Master of portraying emotions which this movie lacked. There was Less Love and More Lust. Based on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, the true 'Feel' of love was missing.

No doubt few magical moments do come in at various intervals. Songs were AMAZING. Bhansali's mega hit "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam", "Devdas" had powerful impact on viewers. RamLeela- a film for those who like Bhansali or if you are a fan of Deepika or Ranveer.

Amazing!
1 August 2015
States- 2014 Director: Abhishek Varman

Chetan Bhagat- famous for writing his stories, again did an excellent job by highlighting the class differences and greed for dowry in today's world. The direction of the movie is mind blowing.

2 States is a good movie! It's humorous, emotional and a fantastic film when concerned with the clashes of 2 different cultures. It has emphasized on the message that Communities Do Not matter when you love someone it's the type of person that matters. Some people might find it boring as they wont be able to pick what is actually the concept behind making this movie. Arjun Kapoor is brilliant and so was Alia!! The songs are also good!

Gangs of Wasseypur- 2012 Director: Anurag Kashyap

Its a story that spans over 7 decades and gets in depth about gang wars, crime, hatred, revenge that gets passed on from one generation to another. Movie screened at Sydney Film Festival is WORTH watching. Gangs of Wasseypur stands firmly on the grounds of Direction, Acting, Screenplay, Story-line, Cinematography, Music & off course The BEST Dialogues. Outstanding performance by Manoj Bajpayee, Richa Chaddha an Nawaz-ud-din Saddiqui. An epic tale about loyalty, crime, lust, treachery and vendetta. A cinematic magnum opus.

There is no doubt that Anurag Kashyap is Bollywood's Quentin Tarantino.

Kya Dilli Kya Lahore- 2014 Director: Vijay Raaz & Karan Arora.

Expressing the truth, KYA DILLI KYA LAHORE is no doubt a courageous and first of its kind of Anti-War film in Hindi cinema revolving around only 2 key & 2 supporting characters in all.

Yet what scores the maximum in this experimental project are its soulful, thought provoking lyrics by Gulzar and entertaining satirical dialogues by Manu Rishi, deserving all the praises. Worth watching performances by both Vijay Raaz and Manu Rishi. Many movies are made on India and Pakistan but there are less in which friendship and harmony is promoted but in the end of this film you'll see it

They met as Enemies. They Parted as Friends.

Finding Fanny (2014)
7/10
Lovely to watch.
1 August 2015
Finding Fanny- 2014 Director: Homi Adajania

One needs Brains and Creativity to produce such films. The immensely talented director, Homi Adjania deserves the maximum credit for what he has delivered.

Naseeruddin Shah- as Ferdie, the emotional affable post master is brilliant. Naseer underplays his character,he has modulated his voice and his body language to portray Ferdie and the outcome is just mind-blowing.

Pankaj Kapur- who plays the eccentric lusty painter Don Pedro, he again proves his brilliance with this portrayal.

Deepika Padukone- She proved that she have matured as an actress of top notch. She was fresh, her acting was unforced and she flowed throughout the movie like a star....there were many places where she will stole your heart..like while listening to Naseer from her Balcony.

Dimple Kapadia- is very good too, dominating yet hesitantly finding her way through the challenges life has thrown at her.

Arjun Kapoor- has probably the most uni-dimensional role and he does it credit. In acting chops, probably the one who has to go the furthest, but he can still hold his head high after this one.

Finding Fanny is a simple anatomy of love. It is the best movie Bollywood has produced this year since QUEEN! Highly recommended

A light hearted romance!
1 August 2015
Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania- 2014 Director: Shashank Khaitan

A light heart romance. Though it looked like a copy of DDLJ.

Cast is just superb. Ashutosh Rana as Kavya's father is very good. What a wonderful actor he is. He pours his intensity as well as sense of humour into the character. Varun Dhawan has done complete justice to his character. Alia is also wonderful. Her face has the right combination of innocence, chirpiness, traditional, bindass attitude. She makes Kavya so much lovable. Sidharth as Angad Bedi has great screen presence.

Music could have been better. The song 'Samjhawan' composed by Toshi- Sharib and sung by Shreya-Arijit is very good.

Magical !!
1 August 2015
Devdas- 2002 Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's labour of love Devdas is a larger-than-life, poignant and spectacular interpretation. Clearly Devdas is a work of art and heart. Ismail Darbar's rich compositions are mostly situation-based and aid the narrative. Thankfully, the music plays in the background and Devdas and Paro are not shown lip-syncing sweet nothings. Pandit Birju Maharaj and Saroj Khan storm the screen with some sensational choreography. Madhuri Dixit's dances are breath-taking.

Binod Pradhan's eye for detail cannot be missed as he romances the camera with imaginative angles and lighting. The good thing is that before the viewer gets too caught up in admiring Aishwarya's exotic hair clip, the shot switches to the sorrow in her eyes.

Combination of warmth, laughter and love
1 August 2015
Monsoon Wedding- 2001 Director: Mira Nair

Monsoon Wedding directed by Mira Nair is a film about an India family marriage. This film is one of the most effective examples of an India family ever put on screen. It displays events ranging form delightful to serious and appalling situations. You see family parties, drama, lots of music and dancing and that one creepy person in the family whom women of the family are afraid of! The great film-making and the use of hand held captures camera scenes is an important setting in the movie.

With combinations of warmth and laughter, music and dance, romance and serious problems, Director Mira Nair has made this movie a family entertainment

Best songs!
1 August 2015
Ek Villain- 2014 Director: Mohit Suri

Mohit Suri's romance thriller is doing amazing on box-office. The first reason behind it is the attention grabbing trailers and the astonishing music generated hype for this movie, second reason is the mesmerizing acting and third reason is the time reverse narration that was too perfectly and beautifully.

Ankit Tiwari has blessed this movie with stupendous songs like "Galliyaan", "Banjaara", "Zaroorat", " Awari "," Hamdard" each of the tracks is affecting and will leave an imprint in your mind. This movie is a whole package of heartwarming characters, stunning music, promising screenplay and unique narration style which will capture you and compel you towards itself so I would recommend it to all. And Riteish seems to be the real hero of the film!

Daawat-e-Ishq- 2014 Director: Habib Faisal There is nothing new in this story, many people even can predict the movie, But still it's worth watching. Acting of Parineeti and Aditya's is superb. Small small elements and dialogs are very nice. Anupam Kher is a wonderful actor and he proves his mettle once again. He gets into the skin of character and supports the proceedings of movie with grace. Music is just amazing. Dawat-E-Ishq has a fresh and exotic aroma to appetite you.

There will be many people who didn't like the film but I think you can watch this film with your family because the content is very clean and beautiful. Deliciously Amazing

Happy New Year- 2014 Director: Farah Khan

Farah Khan made a flawless movie. Every single bit of this entertainer is perfect. It's an entertainer. Not a deep movie. And it entertains extremely well. If you want to laugh, or see Dubai from Camera Eye, You Gotta watch HNY. And, WOW the songs, Lovely just took the breath away. *Thumbs UP* for Deepika.

They say the best artists know who to steal from. Farah does. And with movies, it's not what you steal, it's how you steal it and make it your own. Farah is a MASTER! MASTER of Choreography. Well, not only this but the Cinematography also deserves 10/10. SRK and Deepika are always a pleasure to watch..A must watch to tickle your funny bone...

P.S- You can watch it with your family!!

Piku (2015)

One of Deepika's finest performances.
1 August 2015
PIKU- 2015 Director: Shoojit Sircar

Take a BOW Shoojit Sircar and Juhi Chaturvedi for their magnificent piece of work. What an amazing Father Daughter bond with constipation being in the Spotlight. PIKU is a heart warming, soulful and comical film. At 70, Amitabh Bachchan is still at the top of his game. If you have ever been a big Bachchan Saab fan and have not got the best of him lately, this is going to be your dope. The way he has played the part of an over anxious, aging and well-meaning Bengali is only something that he could have done and no one else.

Irrfaan, the man. Son of a Gun. This man is breaking all records of natural acting of this era and has almost reached the peak of being a well organized, entertaining and a satisfying actor.

Deepika Padukone has shown her mantle once again with Piku. With simplistic outlook, she has projected the character of Piku very well. Simply Adorable. I must say you need hard nerves and height of patience to deal with a father like him. In presence of a mega star like Amitabh Bachchan and a gifted actor like Irfan Khan, Deepika pulls off her act amazing well.

If only Sircar and Chaturvedi hadn't tried to do for sh*t what they did for sperm. Their first and best film, Vicky Donor, was about a man who realises his seed is extremely fertile and becomes a successful donor. But 'sperm' is still a relatively taboo thing to repeatedly say in a Bollywood film. WATCH IT!

Shahid's best career knock-out.
1 August 2015
Haider- 2014 Director: Vishal Bhardwaj

Radical Indian version of Hamlet gives the story compelling political angles and musical surprises. Vishal Bhardwaj is Bollywood's go-to guy for Shakespeare updates, having turned Macbeth into Maqbool (2003) and Othello into Omkara (2006). Here, he relocates Hamlet to chilly, militarised mid-90s Kashmir, with a hero Shahid Kapoor.

Shahid delivered his career's best knock-out. He just NAILED it. Shahid Kapoor acts his heart out in a career-redefining performance that will certainly vanquish the Ghosts of R..Rajkumars Past, while Tabu's performance was mesmerizing. It should get the Film of the year award-2014.

Waste of time.
1 August 2015
Roy- 2015 Director:Vikramjit Singh

How on Earth Ranbir Kapoor agreed to sign this film? OK, we know you haven't done a film since 2013 but that doesn't mean that an actor like you will give a preference to such a film in which half of the time you're quite. Disappointed on your part because people went to cinemas to spend 2 hours to see your silence.

Well is it said With great hotness, comes great power. That's how Arjun Rampel has made his audience drop their jaws with his looks. Actors like Arjun Rampal and Ranbir Kapoor wasted their talent by doing this film. The worst part was a poor script, poor plotting, some very illogical parts, direction was fine but after 40 to 50 minutes no one will love to spend the rest of an hour to watch this movie. The songs were Good and if you're a BIG FAT fan of Jacqueline Fernandez Arjun Rampal and Ranbir Kapoor Only then go for it.

Stupid.
1 August 2015
Dhoom3- 2013 Director: Vijay Krishna Acharya

This was one the most awaited movie of 2013. It is Hard to believe that Amir Khan agreed to do this movie because he is too good for this kind of garbage where nothing make sense. The double role. OH MY GOD. That was terrible. When they could not explain the story, they included the double role of AMIR, and Uday Chopra really needs acting classes. One thing, WHO on earth suggested Amir to do stunts for Yash Raj Films is beyond my thinking. Songs were Good without any doubt.

Dhoom 1 was fabulous. Dhoom 2 was okay (survived just because of Hrithik) but Dhoom 3.. Pathetic.

The best of Mr. Yash Chopra

Veer Zaara- 2004 Director: Yash Chopra

A movie with a lot of emotions. People either love Shahrukh Khan or hate him, but I think he delivers what is necessary for this role without going over the top. He is undoubtedly the King of Romance but we should not forget the backbone of this movie and the one who made Shahrukh the King of Romance. He was none other than The great late legend Mr. Yash Raj Chopra. Love poured in everything he did from film-making to his relation with his family, friends and film stars.

Priety Zinta did justice with her character with intense emotions and amazingly fine acting. It was a really spectacular movie! The cinematography, music, songs, colors, acting and 'second to none' story were instrumental in its being. It was one of the best film of its time. "Hats off" to Yash Chopra and his team for directing yet another masterpiece!

Quality Film.
1 August 2015
3 Idiots- 2009 Director: Rajkumar Hirani

What can be expected from Amir Khan? QUALITY ! 3 idiots suits the term 'landmark cinema' and has all it takes to help Bollywood take a giant step into world cinema with pride. It is a sparkling example of qualitative cinema. 3 idiots not only entertains, it also enlightens the audience. First Bollywood film to reach 100 Crore Club. The story of 3 idiots has been told differently and offers so many twists-n-turns that you just can't guess what would unfold next. There's so much happening in every scene and the screenplay is so gripping that you don't feel the need to look at the auditorium ceiling or at your watch at brief intervals. An Aamir Khan film is nothing short of an event. The supremely talented actor acts in one film a year and no two films are ever identical in terms of plot line. Much more can still be summarized about the film. Lovely!

Juhi Chaturvedi is one of the finest writers and has the grip to write about things such as sperm, and some more. The story, screenplay and script was so awesome that every bit of the film was so interesting to watch. No matter how many years pass by this film will remain in the minds of the viewers.

Queen- 2014 Director: Vikas Bahl

Director, Vikas Bahl have done excellent justice to the film. Kangana gave it all in this movie. She was immersed deep in the character. Her dialogue delivery, her posture, her expressions. One of the finest performances seen by any Bollywood Actress in Long time. Nobody could have played "Rani- The Queen" better than her.

Vikas Bahl has attempted to make a story which is very closer to real life and the way women are treated in most of the societies. The best part was actually the story and the genuine expressions given by beautiful Kangana. With small budget the movie made it reach to the corers.

When things go wrong, cry not; gather your guts, not just move over but fly!

Cinematography was just amazing.Direction was just perfect and the casting was sensibly done. Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is an award-winning film. It shows us the life of Milkha Singh through his very own eyes and deserves a standing ovation for its performances, writing and direction.

Talking about Farhan Akhtar, he is one of the most superb actors of Indian Cinema. No one could ever play this role of young, energetic, ambitious Milkha Singh the way Farhan did. Claps for him. The songs of the movie were so catchy that despite of three long hours no one would want to leave their seats and miss a scene.

Truly Inspiring.
