Hunt (2022)

I just saw the movie "Hunt" today, Sep 6 at Major Cineplex here in Pattaya, Thailand, liking it, finding it pretty OK.

The director/lead actor Lee (Chief Park), does a pretty good for this one being his first directing job. The plot is a bit crazy, but we all know how volatile Korean politics is and has always been.

Acting is top-notch from my point of view, very believable and the torture scenes are realistic, pretty well done.

The car chases are not bad at all, well inserted and needed in the context of the story.

All-in-all, a pretty OK flick that i think you'd enjoy it, if you like spy/action movies. Enjoy, and regards from Thailand!

Nope (2022)

Not Too Bad. But not As Good As I was Hoping

"Nope," the latest effort of Jordan Peele, disappointed me. I was hoping for the maker of "Get Out" to come up with another stunning delivery. Sadly no. In fact, Jordan Peele has come from a Magnificent work in Get Out to a streak of jobs that truly do not compare. Gee, I was thinking "Boy, if 'Nope' is just have the good of 'Get Out,' then we are gonna see something really cool at cineplex today." Sadly nope. In my heart i hope that Jordan Peele could get back the inspiration he somehow got in his head for his earlier work.

It reminds me of M. Night Shyamalan who flew so high with works as "The Sixth Sense" and "Signs," making us loving him, to a series of disastrous flicks that just get worse.

I hope that in their coming projects, both Jordan and Night, will produce some of the perfection they once were able to make. Fingers crossed

Beast (I) (2022)

No Where Near "The Ghost and the Darkness"

You might most likely remember the Lion vs Man movie "The Ghost and the Darkness."

This move "Best" is a lion vs man no where near "The Ghost and the Darkness," absolutely not in the same league.

Alba is a good actor, but no where near the awesomeness charisma and acting talent of Michael Douglas and Val Kilmer.

I tell you this so that you do not expect much. Because you need to be informed in advance.

Still, in my mind it earns 4 stars, and i'd say its ok if you have 2 hours to spare and a couple bucks to dispose of.

Other than that nah.

Of course, the effort is appreciated, but the end result is kind of, well, 4 out of 10.

And to the person who added in his review that Adris Alba in a role about 007... please don't.

That would be nuts, something that Ian Fleming might not approve of. (my opinion)

There are no other actors to play James Bond? I think there are.

I love Sly... Will love him FOREVER, but this one was BAD

Yes really BAD. Only 2 stars from me for this dull flick, despite the respect and admiration we all feel for Silvester Stallone.

Sly was the same old same old that we appreciate. But the script and especialy the acting from that kid was atrocious.

The kid is really a bad actor. I am clueless on what the producers saw on him. Hope he'll get better with that, though i doubt it.

Honestly, i could only watch 20 minutes and I was out. Because I was annoyed and bored to that level... i just couldn't handle.

Our love for Stallone was not enough to endure such a boredom. Two stars from me, just because Sly is in there.

Outstanding in every aspect. Not boring. Good story. Great acting, especially from the kid's leading character Finney I liked the movie. Its a nice summer treat.

Benediction (2021)

When the 2 Men Danced Tango That was it for me

The movie was developing ok for me. Nothing of of the ordinary in the portrayal of an extraordinary poet and war hero.

Unfortunately for me, the scene where the two of the characters dance Tango.... sorry i just couldn't handle.

I know that our beloved poet and awesome thinker and rebel with a cause had moments in his life when he was, well you know. We all know that. And that is perfectly ok. Absolutely fine and alright.

Still, that scene prevented me to forward enjoying the flick. It was just like a switch that was on. And just went off.

That is why i could not rate the film, as i did not finished. Sadly so.

White Elephant (2022)

Solid 7 with Awesome Cast

To us, this is an entertaining movie with an all-star cast. Bruce, Olga, Michael and the John do pretty good for you, specially Michael Rooker who steals the show. Bruce did his best despite his health problems which breaks our hearts. Olga cute woman as always and John, fantastic with his talk about ancient Greeks. In short, this is an film that is perfect to spend a couple free hours in which you have nothing else to do. Surely, you'll enjoy it as much as we did.

Rubikon (2022)

Sophocating, Tedious, Atrocious Acting, Painful to Watch

In general, anyone directing, writing and producing a film, wanting to create art, deserves our respect and thanks. Absolutely.

Having said that, "Rubikon" is a really terrible flick, made even worst by the horrible acting of the 3 main characters, especially George Blagden, whom is just painful to watch.

The script has a basic good premise, but the dialogues and some of the actions of the characters just doesn't make sense, making this a completely uninspiring thing to watch.

Do i recommend you to take a look and see the movie for yourself.

I do not. Unless your time has no value at all, be my guest.

Because for me, this thing titled Rubikon is worst than a waste of time, its a bad experience. Its painful to watch. We gave it one star cos can not rate negative numbers, a really yack flick, total garbage.

Lightyear (2022)

Its OK, although not great.

I watched Lightyear at Major Cineplex here in Pattaya Beach today, and I must say the movie is alright, although no way in the same level as other Pixas films, including Toy Story.

The voice actors did a pretty good work and the animation is outstanding. The problem is in the plot. The idea of leaving the ones you love behind til they die, which for you take minutes, for them a lifetime is compelling for kids? I'm not so sure. Plus, the idea that you in the future become so bad, willing to get back in time to kill your own younger you... not so sure about that one either. The story could have been much much better. It should give a clear and inspiring message to kids. A teaching. There are some valuable things. But it could have been better if kids would be able to learn so much more "Lightyear." I think this movie is just OK. Although not great (our humble opinion)

The Man from Toronto (2022)

Its OK and have some fun fighting scenes. But not great

I enjoyed this movie, which I rated with 5 stars. Kevin Hart is the same funny guy making us laugh and Woody was OK, although the original cast of Jason Stathan would have been more awesome, perhaps better (my opinion).

I remember Woody in "White men can't jump" and then in "Money Train," flicks in which he was simple FANTASTIC. But for some reason, he does not shine with such intensity here, even though the effort is commendable.

Woody in "Cheers" and "No Country for Old Men" where two of his outstanding performances that I so much have admired thru the years.

And Kevin... for me, "Central Intelligence" with Dwayne Johnson, was so stunning and funny that me and my wife watch when we feel bored and the movie cheers us up with smiles. "The man from Toronto" does not have that magic.

Still, I would recommend, and I'm sure you'd like it. Find out by yourself.

AMIGO, IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME, DON'T WATCH THIS BULL. BECAUSE IT'S ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE. THERE'S NO STORY AT ALL. IN FACT, ITS RIDICULOUS, EVEN OBNOXIOUS. WHY DID SUCH A TALENTED DIRECTOR CAME UP WITH SOME END-PRODUCT LIKE THIS IS WAY BEYOND ME. THIS WAS BAD BAD BAD ALL THE WAY... AND FURTHER MORE.

A Tear in the Sky (2022)

Proves Nothing

Although the effort and enthusiasm is obvious and commendable, at the end we do not see any absolutely conclusive proof of anything. Yes, there are some distant dot lights, yes there is some strange radiation reading in one of the instruments, and that's it. I wish there was more. Of course, we were hoping for more, unfortunately no. Is that stuff an opening of a worm hole? How could anybody say for sure. We would not wish it is? But the star scientists can't tell for sure. They think it could be a worm hole. They think. Nothing conclusive. Good effort, but nothing else. Unfortunately.

Jackass Forever (2022)

Obnoxious: The Worst Movie Ever

I could not imagine something so LAME and ridiculous as well as IDIOTIC like this think named Jackass Forever. A bunch of middle aged morons playing kids, getting their nuts smashed their faces creamed with good knows what... for money.. i could not imagine something more obnoxious. Its embarrassing. Plus, those stunts are indeed dangerous and there is nothing healthy about getting the balls crushed repeatedly. Honestly, i could only watch just about 10-15 minutes and that i was out. That stuff is not a movie. I prefer real movies with a message and real acting, a smart script. Folks, really, i have better things to do with my time.

Gasoline Alley (2022)

We all Love Bruce Willis and Luke Wilson, But "Gasoline Alley" is Just a B Movie

Who in the Galaxy does not like Bruce Willis and Luke Wilson for all the have done for us, especially Bruce Willis?

But their charisma and starry popularity does not save "Gasoline Alley" from being nothing else than a cheap B Flick with nothing to admire.

It lacks every factor that makes movie good.

That's why i could watch only 38 minutes and that was it. Could not get bored any further.

Unless you have nothing (really nothing) else to do with your time, watch it Otherwise try anything else as Gasoline Alley is probable one of the worst films of the year, which could not get not even a rate of 5/10. Really.

Nevertheless, I still love Bruce and Luke. Because, truly, they did their job, did their lines. Its just that everything else was just so mediocre, so predictable, so flat... SO BORING!

Really. Don't bother.

Great White (2021)

OK if you have absolutely nothing else to do..

Not even the beauty and nice body of lead actress New Jersey lady Katrina Bownen can save this Great White movie, which the only great thing that has is its title. Because nothing else is outstanding, making the flich a B movie, sincerely.

Only Bowden acted decent, because all the others were mediocre to say the least, and the dialogue did not helped much. Some aereal shots were nice, and of course we can commend the effort of anybody trying to make a good film.

Unfortunately for us, the viewers, the effort does falls short and a 3-4 stars out of 10 is the best rating possible.

Still, if you have nothing else with 2 hours of your time, and you have a couple of extra bucks in your pocket that you would not mind handing to the ticket counter people, then go ahead and try it.

The Last Letter from Your Lover (2021)

Loved it!

I really loved The Last Letter from your lover from beginning to end as i was not expecting to be so good. Its an unexpected gift of good acting combined with sensible. Stylish directing, cinematography, and a good story.

Felicity Jones as the determined journalist, did so great throughout, so as Shailene Woodley as Lawrence's wife who finds true love in the arms of her journalist loer "Mr. Boot."

Woodley has never been a fave of mine. For some reason she has never click with me. But in this movie i must admit, she is AWESOME. Could not be better.

Ues, Felicity and Woodley made wonders in this film, adding more to their already brilliant careers. The other supporting actors are fine as well, but these two mentioned ladies are the shinning stars.

You ask me if I would recommend it to you, and I say yes. You'll enjoy it.

Run Hide Fight (2020)

Pretty Good!

I liked it "Run Hide Fight." Much better than I expected, entertaining and full of good action and good acting from all actors, especially new leading lady Santa Monica-native Isabel May, a fresh face in Hollywood with dramatic talent and bright future ahead of her. Heck, even the music was awesomely appropriate and a perfect complement to the story. If you haven't seen this flick, you may buy your ticket for a nice family date this weekend, the ticket will be worth of your hard-earned money and a cool 2 hours for you and your dear ones to forget a bit about the crazy times we live right now. Saludos amigos, and enjoy!

Annoying Narrator Hurts Your Ears

I love this subject and the content of this documentary could have been interesting to me.

But the horrible horsy voice and annoying intonation of the Narrator really damages the interest, hurting my ears in the process... Because of the Narrator, I could handle only 5 minutes, sorry...

Horizon Line (2020)

I loved it. Its ride that I enjoyed

Horizon Line is a cool, well-done, feel-good, adventure film in the sky that I enjoyed, one of the best flicks i've seen this year.

Plus, the leading lady Allison Williams is so gorgeous, its a treat to watch her doing whatever.

I don't see anything wrong in Horizon Line. Its a simple, not-complicated story well delivered.

Two young people fighting for their lives at an altitude, depending on each other to survive in an environment in which death could grab them at any second, even in the last second.

Good work. I recommend it for a couple dating and I'd watch it again.

Brenton Thwaites is a relly good actior, But this film I didn't Like it

Very sincerely, Brenton Thwaites is a relly good actior. I have seen him in other movies always delivering excellent performances. Recently I saw him in Ghosts of War, doing a great work, proving the Aussie that he is in Hollywood to shine.

But this film I didn't Like it one bit so such a degree that I needed to leave the cinema and do something better with my time. That bad it felt, i i could never understand the high marks this movies has got.

I still think Brenton is excellent and I look forward to his coming works.

Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)

Gal Gadot is GORGEOUS, but the movie is UGLY

Sure you'd agree with me that Gal Gadot is a treat to our eyes, and in WW84 she shines with exquisiteness physical beauty and excellent acting. But the movie itself, especially its script is simply pathetic.

Pulling her bf from heaven into Earth is just nuts. Diana asked how was that and he replied that he was in a "good place" and then all the sudden he was in the body of that unknown guy and he used the phone book to track her. wao, and where the script writers sent the "soul" of the man whose body was taken (or borrowed)? "hey wait, we just borrow a body..." nuts.

then, the transformation of the nerdy, kind, good-heart archeology lady into the mean-spirited cheetah makes no sense. it doesn't suit well that if you are really good person with respect and love for humanity rooted in you, makes no sense of all the sudden becoming totally the opposite plus becoming bad is not a good message. me, i did not like that.

also, everybody getting from egypt to new york in seconds is totally loco, and i don't think a pilot from world war II could immediately fly F-16. and diane gets into the smithsonian to just steal a plane which full gas tank and all ready to fly, come on...

i could go on and on. yes, i know its just a movie, but when i compare WW84 with the one we saw in 2017 there is such a huge difference in quality.

the one before is far superior, far more entertaining and believable, and the little diana competing in the initial games is a cute lovely little girl, but when running and competing does not seem athletic at all to overpower the other seasoned warriors.

also, pedro pascal as max could not be more annoying, and so creepy the way he hugs his little son, who should be scare to no end with a dad so loco that that.

i could really go on with more examples on how the script is weird, but sufficient to say that Gal Gadot is PERFECT as wonder woman, the most stunning wonder woman ever. BUT the movie itself is disappointing to say the least. i give it a 2 out of 10 and will not watch it again, nor recommend it.

Ghosts of War (2020)

My sincere opinion is that this movie is quite alright, a 5.5 out of 10 for me, it delivers what the trailers put forward and unfolds acceptable.

yes, absolutely 100% yes, the ending is very loco and weird and might not make sense at all, but... that is the very end which unfolds when the heavy lifting of the flick is already done.

sure, i agree with those who thing that the ending should have been better thought.

perhaps the writer and director and producer might have though that a sequel could come up for them to develop, but nahhh.. this film does not deserve a 2nd part whatsoever.

the ending should have been better, even at the cost of leaving the people confused. in fact, any other ending could be better than the one here.

the scary stuff are decent as well as the setting, customs and acting. the may six stars do their parts ok, even billy zane whome i have never liked.

its just the ending the one thing that ruins this nice effort. still, it gets a 5.5 and i think it is ok.

Totally Boring, the Perfect Way to Waste your Time

An absolute certifiable snoozer that comes from no-where and goes no-where, unfortunately wasting my time, which i regret. why?

because i read the bad reviews and i ignored them.

instead, i told myself "maybe those people sometimes can't appreciate art..."

it turns out that those people really can appreciate what is art and what is not.

this film "black bear" is not. i did not like it one bit, and i'd never watch it again, unless you pay me, ha ha ha...

about you, you may watch it, if you want. but i do not recommend it. do it at your own risk. so now you know.

Invasion (2020)

Really Bad, I had to Leave the Cinema

I love sci-fi movies, and i am easily pleased with them, enjoy them from start to finish. BUT NOT THIS ONE. This film is horrendous. Some things appear absolutely non-sense, and the acting, except for Irina, is the worst i have seen.

To make matters even worst, the dubbing in English was simply BAD as actions of characters does not match the tones give by the voice actors. plus, whoever did the translation from the original russian into american english, might just have used google translate, because people just do not talk like that eeewww...

the bad reviews are correct. i read them, but, since i am sci-fi movies geek, i went anyways. disappointment. awkward movie.

i do not recommend this movie to you, unless you do not appreciate your time nor money.
