Stunk
29 March 2007
Warning: Spoilers
There was no set up of either character or plot, just a succession of chases and acrobatics, and that face in one mode throughout-grim!! This Bond is a wimp compared to Connery and Moore, being too "slight" and not very nice to look at, besides. There was no clue as to changes of scenes, and only seeing a highway sign for "Biscayne Blvd." did I know he was in Florida. We hated the whole thing and gave up before it finished...reruns on TV were more interesting than this drivel. I still wish that Clive Owens had been given the chance for this one, but doubt that even he could not have saved this dismal screen play. I can only hope for next time with a new well written script.

Touching story, excellent acting by the disabled son especially.
4 March 2006
We thought this was a touching story of the real tragedy of a parent dealing with the life-long disability, all the more so since this parent had walked away so early in child's life. We were much impressed with Charlotte Rampling, who we have seen in many good roles, who gave a marvelous portrayal of parent who have given her whole life to the care of her own daughter, willingly, but with the admonishment to the younger father in brutal honestly, to be prepared to suffer. We also wonder about her use of languages. Last film we saw she spoke French, and in this one Italian and German. Does she really speak these all, or her words dubbed in? We're glad she is working and always a true professional.

Waste of good talent
24 September 2005
Warning: Spoilers
This story is so disjointed, so frenetic, and so abstruse that it was impossible to find a coherent story line throughout. Brody is a good actor and I feel this work was a total waste of his talent. The flashes of light as he was experiencing the flash backs (or forward, which I found hard to understand) while in the morgue drawer, were visually distressing, and could bring on a fierce migraine, at the very least, or an epileptic fit to anyone so inclined. To me, there was a lack of good direction, in not having some believable continuity, that would have told the story better. I sincerely hope to see Brody in something more fitting in the near future.

Does no credit to Ludlum story
14 April 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Whoever wrote the review on the home page of this movie must be related to the director or Matt Damon. He was wooden most of the time and his range of emotion is from A-B and the blatant errors by the director were numerous. Why, oh why, would Bourne continue to carry around that bloody red bank bag when he was on the run?? Love car chases?...you will get your money's worth here! The beginning scenes were so dark and confusing that it did not set the stage for what was to come. compare this to any Bond movie, and I mean any, all the way back, is a disgrace and ridiculous. As an avid reader, this belittles the Ludlum book! To me the only enjoyment was seeing a favorite actor, Clive Owen, even in this small and insignificant role. Had he been the Bourne character, I know the movie could have been better!!
