Der Untergang (2004)
Any Blu Ray or HD DVD release to follow??????
I give 9/10 cos I want a Blu Ray or HD DVD release with English Subs.
It's available on HD DVD in Spain with original German and Spanish subs and I really wanted it but can't learn German that quickly.
Any word of a High Defintion release as such??
Ps. The Lives of Others (2006) was an excellent German movie the Blu Ray version in 'BRILL'
I'm looking forward to
Run Lola Run
which has just been released on UK Blu Ray
DER UNTERGANG IS A QUALITY FILM AND VERY EDUCATIONAL IF YOU WANT TO KNOW OF HITLER'S DOWNFALL!!
Reeker (2005)
Reeks of Embarrassment!!
Went to the Odyessy Cinema in Belfast last night and chose this movie as it was the only one that we thought might be good.
Well in a nutshell, myself and my sister who was visiting from England thought this was one of the worst films ever. TERRIBLE SCRIPT, ACTING, EDITING (in some scenes). Abysmal....FULL STOP! Anybody in their right mind, especially the film makers, studio etc, that believed this to be acceptable knows little about storytelling and/or film making!! DIDN'T STUDIO EXECUTIVES WATCH THE DAILIES, OR EVEN CARE??
The so called twist at the end would have Alfred Hitchcock turning in his grave!!
Ps. The only decent actor was the Blind Guy Don't waste your money or time!!
The Fog (2005)
Terrible Acting, dud Script and an embarrassment! Turkey of the decade?
An absolute waste of time. Having enjoyed the original, I was excited about seeing this film.
Well it was surprising to say the least, only not in the way I'd hoped.
The acting, script, continuity and even some of the special effects were so 'Low Grade'. Not one cast member even made an impression.
So glad I never pre-ordered the DVD on the strength of the original which was an enjoyable atmospheric movie!! The only plausible thing about the movie are the beautiful B.C. Locations. There was some interesting shots of the boat and the boathouse early in the movie and they really reminded me of Jaws, ie. Quint's Boat and Boathouse. There may well have been some inspiration from Jaws?
