The Dick Powell Show: Price of Tomatoes (1962)
memorable
I also saw this episode as a child. It still stands out in my memory. It was the first time I saw Peter Falk. What a strong impression he made. There was nothing spectacular in the movie....just incredibly interesting performances. Inger Stevens played a very sympathetic character opposite Mr. Falk's harried truck driver. It was shot at night and I think it was raining during much of the film. It had a somewhat gloomy atmosphere but, if memory serves, I think Peter Falks acting was at times mildly comedic. Like others, I wish I could see this again. I would recommend it to anyone. That should complete the required ten lines.
The Girl Who Knew Too Much (1969)
What a laughably lousy movie!
I saw this flick at an Army base theater in Germany. Lousy script and lousy acting. The one thing I remember in detail is that the character played by Adam West keeps getting beat up by various thugs. This must have happened to him 3 - 5 times by the mid point of the movie. Then he goes into some little shop ran by a frail looking man who appeared to be in his sixty's. When the old guy did not cooperate during questioning, Adam West proceeded to beat the hell out of him. It was unintentionally hilarious! I remember people in the audience laughing and yelling at the screen 'you finally found someone who couldn't beat you up'. Other than that brief moment, the movie was a waste of film.
Joanna (1968)
Worst movie ever made!!!!
I saw this movie in the theater when it first came out. I and the rest of the audience were appalled at how terrible it was. It was like an amateur film made by a college student who aspired to be 'artsy'. After all these years, I still remember how close I came to walking out of the theater. It may be worthwhile to see it just to confirm how bad it is. And the ending is not only unbelievable, but silly. This was one of the first times I ever saw Donald Sutherland. I still can not imagine why he chose to appear in it. I suspect this was made during his 'stoned' flower child period. I also liked Calvin Lockhart. He was also wasted in this movie. It would be interesting to know how much this movie cost to make and and how little it made.
