Baraka (1992)
10/10
a marvelous film
5 August 2005
I can hardly believe what I saw a few moments ago...I was not prepared for the incredible time that I have spent seeing, enjoying Baraka. I just looked up "baraka" in the dictionary to discover what the director wanted to say with the title and I found that in Islam "baraka" means *blessing, god's favour...and this movie shows the miracle that is this world and the people living on it.

The photography is simply incredible. I do not understand how this extraordinary work of art is not really known at all. I saw this movie because a friend of mine borough it home but if not I would never had seen it. It is awesome, the images, the places and moments that the director chose in every scene...I do not know the right words to express my feelings about this masterpiece but...this movie just left me breathless... fascinating... highly recommended.

the best film I have ever seen
16 November 2004
This movie is extremely interesting. It shows the reality of a typical Argentinian family (In the 80s, but more or less the same story is happening nowadays). Basically the movie is about an *ancient* lady who is almost left alone by her own family, because as she is old and annoying nobody want to live with her. So every member of the family tries to avoid the idea of having *mommy* at home, but when they find out that she got lost, they start to seem worried. You should see this film if you enjoy sarcastic comments, funny dialogs and lovely characters. Every actor/actress in this movie is a real good one.
