TOO SHORT
19 May 2024
Inam not giving this four stars because I don't like Mariah! She is one of the best sngers of my generation and her Xmas songs are awesome. What is upsetting is the 18 minutes long and onky two songs with an average at best interview between. Her previous special was way longrr and way better. She got a bad score because i wanted MORE

Rewatch the old one and you'll have more Mariah Fun for the whole family.

The somgs themselves are actually pretty good and festive. If you are a fan and go into this experience just expecting two music videos live about Christmas, then you'll like this! Otherwise, it's ten minutes of Xmas music and you get to meet Mariah's kids in between.

Great movie about a terrible plan
15 July 2023
Long, and black and white. The only two knocks against an otherwise riveting representation of the Holocaust. I feel strange reting this film, as it feels more documentary than entertainment and my heart goes out to all six million casualties and also the survivors. Spielberg makes a really good effort to capture the emotional turmoil that only the people involved could truly feel during such an atrocious event in history.

Three main characters dominate the film. Let's start with Izthak Stern, the jew who works as Mr. Schindler's accountant, and also who works for Amon Goeth. Those are the three main characters. Ben Kingsley does a phenomenal job playing Stern and encapsulates an intelligent man who is always rightfully fearing death around every corner. He has information and basically knows all that goes on from both sides. His realism and sometimes sarcasm in the face of tragedy is great. He also feels like Mr. Schindler's psychologist on occasion as he listens to his plots, both the real ideas and the ones to be employed as deceit to get people out.

Amon Goeth is played well by Ralph Fiennes. By "well" i mean a murderous nazi leader who kills rampantly and truly does a good job portraying what i'd say is a pure hatred for jews and has no real empathy for the prisoners. True blank stares and evil psychopathic behavior are maybe adjectives a bit short of experiencing his lack of respect for human life.

And then there is Oskar Schindler. A nazi leader himself, this businessman might be perceived as a slick rich capitalist businessman and cheating husband because he is those things. But this IS the Holocaust and in light of that tragedy, this man uses his wealth to procure human life and preserve a small portion of the prisoner population. The juxtapostion of him and Goeth, though they are side by side quite often, makes him the quintessential hero of the day. He deserves that title.

All and all a really great depiction of something very hard to depict at all. All three of the above actors do a great job and worth a viewing for anyone who wants a glimpse onto Nazi Germany during WWII.

Not the Worst Movie! Just the Worst Jaws
20 June 2023
Widely accepted, I think, as the worst Jaws made. Possibly true, but still a fun escape with some decent acting. The writing is far-fetched, and the shark special effects are a bit cheesy and over the top. With that said, it does a good job advancing the story of parts 1 and 2, the best movies in the series A must-see for fans of 1 and 2. Part 3 was pretty different!

In the Bahamas, Jaws stalks his prey all the way from Amity Island. The premise of a personal vendetta of shark vs. Humans is pretty ridiculous. But that is the main reason for my low score.

Still, the death scenes are entertaining, and the climax is possibly the silliest of all ending, but still entertaining albeit unbelievable.

No Spoilers!
24 February 2023
Ok this movie is about a father, Wife, and daughter who deal with the trials and tribulations of both cancer, and dealing with the beauracracy of big pharma. I won't give spoilers, but I do want to say it is both emotional and a decent action movie at the same time. There is one big plot twist to fit in, but i'll let you see that. I wanted to give a 7, but i gave a 6. The reason is that the movie doesn't have a strong enough identity as either an action movie, nor told truthfully enough as a documentary about pharma. However, the fiction is told enough in a way to be informative enough to be a good romp through both types of movies. I would recommend people watch this! Could have been about half an hour shorter.

Shocking but also Socially Charged!
2 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Ok, so a lot to unpack here. On the surface, it's just a documentary about Jeffrey Dahmer, a serial killer who lured in young homosexual men to his home, drugged them, and killed them, and even ATE them. The first half of the series deals with much of this murder, and also Dahmer's upbringing. Much of the second half deals with society's reaction to race, gender, sexual preference, and police reactions. It is an epitome of our "woke" society and how we ourselves react, admittedly sometimes overly so, to major stories like this. You can tell it was made recently. Am I saying we always overreact? Absolutely not! Many of what was reacted upon, esepcially the police reactions, was well justified. People were dismissed, allegations were thrown under the rug. Lives could have been saved. I'm sure police get false leads all the time, but still with the severity of some of the claims, further investigation was certainly warranted. After all, better safe than sorry.

It did not seem like his motives were racially biased, however. Dahmer seemed to actually think those men he chose were attractive, at least from the movie's perspective. It had me thinking he genuinely wanted to be intimate with his future victims. He seemed to really like many of them. With that said, what happened next in those situations was diabolical, horrifying, and absolutely downright murder. Something was horribly wrong with Dahmer, the least of which was not his heavy drinking. The man definitely did not know intimacy, and he got it twisted to the point of downright murder.

During his trial scenes, Dahmer attempts to explain what he did. He knew an apology would do nothing, yet he did confess he knew how wrong he was in what he did, even requesting the death penalty. Interesting twist was his knowing about John Wayne Gacy, another serial killer who got the lethal injection during Dahmer's Baptism! It did feel disgusting to me that Dahmer had a following, a fan base who sent him cards and things to autograph while he was in prison. He was afterall a cold-blooded killer.

I'll leave the specifics of his death for you to watch, but I certainly felt it more than justified, and the sense of terror his victims' families had felt was well written. I had tears on more than one occasion, and although the dead still lie, it felt like Dahmer's ultimate fate was as close to appropriate as it could have been, may all his poor victims rest in peace.

Rated in the Scope of Halloween Movies
16 August 2022
I have been a fanboy of the franchise for years It felt a bit more aggressive than usual, and Michael gets more kills than usual. His mask is a bit scarier l, too. In my opinion, the tension grows thick as the townspeople get ancy and start doing crazy things I won't spoil here. Laurie is back to tell us who Michael really is.

StepBrothers exemplifies candid humor
15 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Dirty. Foul-mouthed step brothers duke it out at 40 years old. An old couple (their parents) fall in love and realize their sons are both live-in losers. Past that, the story doesn't matter. If you like foul-mouthed, insulting comedic giants Ferrell and O'Reilly pissing in each others' faces for an hour, you'll love this movie. A bit over-the-top comedy with some people probably being too grossed out by some acts (aka putting testicles on a drum set), most lovers of slapstick albeit sexual humor will love this!

The Final Fear
24 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Part three starts and is probably more than half in 1666, sort of a very dark, small town back then. All was set by the voices of the townspeople. The darkness detracts a bit, but I think that's part of the allure for some people. The second half brings us back to the 1990s for the climax, and it's quite alright, happening in a mall. Summates the whole story, and has a relatively happy ending.

Overall the mini-series is worth a watch for horror fans.

The best of the Three
24 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The campy-test of the three movies, because it's actually at a camp in the 1970s! This one had a bit more cringe-worthy moments in my opinion because of the murdering of all the children. Harkened me back to the very campy early 80s slasher films a bit. I gave this one a tick higher of a review.

Campy Fun
24 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As a gore fan who grew up in the 1980s and 90s, I enjoyed the throwback campy fun of the first episode of Fear Street. The music brought me back to a familiar place while the horror was pretty good as well! Multiple killers means multiple storylines and this series has those.

A good thrill ride without gore, the suspense is a good thrill. Well acted all around. The lead character is totally believable and the girl makes me believe her story.

Awful but still Sly

I actually slept a bit even though i wasn't trying in the middle of this movie. However, the ending sequence still felt like an "Over the Top" ending sequence. Not his best work!

This documentary shows the Great Barrier Reef on a microscopic scale. Told through the vein of a baby puffer fish, Puff, we are introuduced to myriad other creatures which Puff shares his marine ecosystem with.

What a Classic Colonial War Movie
15 August 2021
Powerful movie, including warring among French, English, and Indian tribes. Excellent depictions of war and a love story to boot. Very emotional. My only gripe, and it's a small one if you turn captions on, is it's difficult to make out what people were saying sometimes.

The scene where the French officer meets the English Officer blew my mind. I won't ruin what happens afterward in case you haven't seen it yet.

Rocky with Robots
22 March 2020
This movie was quite entertaining. It's a bit strange because of the fact that robots fight instead of humans. With that said, the robots are perfectly anthropomorphized so you feel like they are men.

But the special effects are robot fighting are only worth about a 6/10. Hugh Jackman's struggle to be a good father is actually well-acted out, both by him and the kid. The heroine role is also acted out well by a very beautiful woman.

This is not a perfect movie, but it captures many human emotions and seems to be a good movie for family-oriented people to flock around for an emotional, Rocky-like romp.
