Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Spousal Privilege (2014)
Worst One Yet, Poor Writing
Based on the star review for every episode since season 13 episode 1, this has been deemed the worst. And honestly I am compelled to agree. The only good thing in this whole episode is Barba's court scenes and his amazing closing statement. In the real world, they would not stay on this case for so long when the victim wasn't cooperating. And I've noticed that the writers are frequently changing characters and avoiding plots as the episode seems fit. Example: 2 of the detectives are dating and they haven't said dick about it other than fin making a sarcastic comment, and them having eye contact and being close to each other. Oh excuse me, there was that one time when a psycho asked if they were having sex but there was never an answer. And that bar scene in this episode was totally out of character for Rollins. I get they are supposedly setting up for what happened to her in Atlanta (the whole some of US don't want to be victims) but that doesn't explain it now. The writers need to step up. And the plot of the episode was just subpar over all. Hoping next episode can help. I guess every season has the one episode that's really bad. At least we knocked it out early on. I hope anyway.
Forrest Gump (1994)
Stll relevant and perfect 10 years later
i just watched this movie for the first time, and i have wanted to for so long but never had the time. it ended about 2 minutes ago and i am balling. i went through half a dozen tissues and there are still tears on my cheeks. the message is so important and so real and so relevant. it's worth the 2 and a half hours to watch. it uses real life issues such as the Vietnam war to get people to look at these issues and there are so man amazing underling meanings and quotes, i now know why my friend has a quote from this movie tattooed on her arm, it is so impacting and real and i am not an easy crying and i am still crying as i write this review. it is a beautiful story, and i am not writing about anything that happens in the movie because even the slightest detail may ruin the movie because you need to learn about it as it happens as if YOU are the person he is talking to on the park bench. it is just so real, 10 years later it is still real and honest and important that everyone considering seeing this movie, and everyone who isn't, just go out and see this movie. now. go. it's on Netflix.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Smut (2008)
all around good episode
I love the fact that when they found the diamonds Elliot said "so those are a girls best friend." because it's a reference to Jayne Mansfield, who is Mariska's (Olivia)mother. Aside from that, the plot of this episode is really good. the addition of more victims was a good idea, plus I always love when stories are partially based on real events. using the video evidence topped it off. some problems seem to be the predictability at some points, for example, finding the diamonds, having more victims, etc. but I feel that will be any episode involving crime investigation. add on this cast and guest stars you have a all around good episode.
