Lakewood (2021)
My god woman! What were you thinking?
Why didn't she just go home and get her car instead of running through the bloody woods for an hour?
She sprains her ankle, then it's fine, then it's not.
She falls, hits her head, almost passes out and then gets up and keeps running like nothing happened. Ankle is fine too.
The lyft driver drives all over the woods trying to find her...yeah right.
The shooter actually has a phone conversation with her and she tries to 'reach him' ..yeah right
Putting her son in more danger.
She calls 911 multiple times and reaches the same dispatcher ...yeah right.
She finds out who it is quicker than the cops...yeah right
The reunion was well done but she seems to have forgotten about her daughter
And the end ... cringefest. Seems the sons depression was cured by ptsd and posting every day on social media. An activist against school shootings on tik tok. Genius.
Poor Naomi..must be hard to get roles now so you had to make your own. Don't do that again Naomi. For your own sake aswell as ours.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Maybe for young tween girls?
I wasn't looking forward to the first WW movie, as it looked like yet another 'girl power' movie but I was gladly proven wrong and quiet enjoyed it.
So...I looked forward to the 2nd one, saw the trailer and waited patiently... Nah.
High heels, dresses, makeovers, and strutting around with hands in side pockets (as only models do) combined with a messy plot and weak acting makes a disappointing movie.
If it is directed at 12-15 year old girls, then I'm sure it's passable but it's directed at all DC fans.
I have 2 teenage sons who have grown up with DC and Marvel and they lost interest before we even reached half way... the jokes started, then the cynicism and then the phones came out.
Give it a try if you can watch it for free.
Antebellum (2020)
I don't understand the bad reviews.
I didn't see the trailer for this movie, knew nothing about it and am not very find of Janelle Monae. She always plays the same character with the same facial expression in everything.
But...oit of boredom.. I watched it.. . The first segment was mildly irritating but I wasn't expecting the 2nd one and that caught my attention. A number of possibilities ran through my head and they seemed to be confirmed with script.
The 3rd segment really caught me.. I didn't see it coming at all.
I've watched the movie twice. The first segment, is now much more interesting, seeing these people for who they are.
Forget trailers, they're usually misleading, forget the reviews, people take things too personally.
Its a good movie, it's original, which is exactly what's missing nowadays.
The Christmas Chronicles (2018)
A New Christmas Classic.
Santa Claus The Movie was a classic for my generation. The Christmas Chronicles is a classic for this generation. Watched it last night (Christmas Eve) and loved it from start to finish. Kids were absolutely enthralled by it. A definite must watch every year from now on.
The Domestics (2018)
Wife made the movie annoying
I'm only 20 minutes in and I'm hoping the wife gets killed. The husband is her doormat. Let me explain...
A post apocalyptic world run by murderous gangs but the couple are living in a relatively safe area.
However to 'save their marriage' they're going on a road trip to see her parents 😐. Because that's your concern when your trying to stay alive right? Your marriage. Holy jayzus!
She constantly needs reassurance from her husband and her mother she's trying to contact and visit.. Now she's crying saying she doesn't want to die and wants to go home...what a surprise.
And she wears headphones listening to music when things get stressful and gives her husband/chauffeur/bodyguard/lifesaver attitude.. a pure liability.
She shouldn't be allowed outside the house never mind cross a war zone.
