Surprisingly Good
29 August 2015
The big surprise to me was Meryl Streep with a guitar. Turns out Meryl pulled this off really well, alongside Rick Springfield and Meryl also has a great voice for Rock & Roll. I've seen it in a lot of flicks where it was clearly evident that the actor or actress with a musical instrument was not actually playing, just by observing their hand movements with the musical instrument but in this movie Meryl appears to be playing, and rather well at that.

Corny, shallow plot line that's been played out on the Silver Screen so many times it isn't even funny but the novelty of this flick is that we get to see a terrific actress demonstrate yet another talent that proves her versatility as a professional actor. The movie's teaser poster suggests that and that is what we get. I reckon not a lot of actors can pull that off as smoothly as Meryl did in this flick.

Definitely worth a look while it is still in a theatre in your town.

Tomorrowland (2015)
5/10
Unique, Fascinating and Wild
30 May 2015
If you're in the mood for Sci-Fi fare and what to see something out of the ordinary and unique this movie might be for you.

However some of the scenes in this film might be rather frightening or intense for younger children, despite the Disney name and the familiar and popular Tomorrowland name, commemorative of the famous themed lands of the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom parks, so concerned parents should be forewarned when deciding whether this time of film would be right for their younger children to see.

The imagery and action in this film is indeed amazing and first-time viewers are likely to be in awe of the imaginative spectacle of the Future scenes in this movie. Tomorrowland plays out very surreal and dreamlike.

Despite that, I found that the plot and dialogue was at many times off- kilter and even some of it didn't make sense but again, Tomorrowland is a Fantasy film with a Sci-Fi theming. Anything can happen in the movies but these days people want more realistic and logical.

Although the plot is pretty wild, I found that the acting is outstanding and I'm willing to speculate that the actors had quite a time dealing with certain areas of the script so that they would be able to give the director what he wanted for the takes in each scene.

Because of the above I give Tomorrowland a 5-out-of-10 rating. A must-see for Sci-Fi fans and mature moviegoers who would like to experience something very unique and unusual, coming from Disney. I do not recommend this movie for younger moviegoers because of some rather disturbing and very violent scenes within this film.

Fairly Good, Better Than the Previous Two
25 October 2012
More believable characters, better flow of storyline than PA2 and PA3, plenty but not heaps of good scares.

Still there were lots of times (as it seems in quite a lot of movies I view) where I'm thinking to myself that I could've done this or that better and I'm thinking of the way I would've produced certain parts of this movie, but that's just my way of thinking since I'm a producer as well.

Nevertheleless I did leave the theatre feeling entertained and I conclude that PA4 is indeed worth a visit to the theatre to see. In fact this is one movie of 2012 that I do intend to place on my shelf once it becomes available on Blu-Ray and even I don't consider myself an huge collector of movies on home vid. That in itself should speak volumes of that the producers of PA4 did pretty good in the making of this film in order for it to become among my faves of films in the Thriller genre.

True, whilst thriller films aren't for everybody, at least PA4 is one of the classier ones out there that deserves a viewing on the Big screen.

Revenge of the Petites (2012 Video)
6/10
Quite an Achievement For an Adult Entertainment Company
13 June 2012
The AmKingdom Company certainly went all-out when they produced Revenge of the Petites. Normally what could be expected of productions from adult entertainment companies is hardcore action and virtually no storyline but such is not the case for this rather entertaining comedy that involves a group of rather petite and young college ladies on a quest to get even with all the other sorority ladies who have put them down for so long.

Revenge of the Petites is college humor, laden with lots of skin and lots of party and prank madness. Entertaining and surprisingly good for the most part, although at some points the acting did seem a bit dry, but this is one of the first, if not perhaps the first, full-length feature film from AmKingdom so give them a break and give this movie a fair look.

Amazingly good camera-work, what with the cool dolly shots, helped to give this film a real professional polish, though it did appear that many of the scenes seemed washed out or overlit, But then again this from a company that is stepping up from the Adult Entertainment arena to present something that is truly screenworthy.

Definitely not for kids or anyone under 18, though, as occasional scenes get mighty blatant with sexual content, though the rest of the film is fun Comedy entertainment of the calibre of many of Hollywood's best movie makers. AmKingdom is in the lead now in quality, feature-length motion picture entertainment. It'll be interesting to see if and how the other, major Adult Entertainment companies follow suit.

Educating Julie (1984 Video)

Dull, disappointing and irresponsible.
3 August 2010
Stay clear of this movie.

They couldn't produce this movie today the same way it was done when they originally made it. For one, the laws are different, much different and much more strict today than they were at the time this movie was made, that should explain the producers' lack of responsibility for the content of this film- actually since it was initially shot on video it can't even be called a film, so- lack of responsibility for the contents of this sore excuse for a movie that is actually more of a shameless plug for naturist resorts and vacation spots.

In addition to that I would even venture to say that anyone following naked children around with a camera should be considered a pervert and a rather dangerous person for the reasons he chooses to follow little children around and want to photograph them for the world to see, inviting an endless lifetime of embarrassment for the unfortunate children who get exploited in that manner. Show a sense of responsibility and keep the cameras away from children during the making of naturist films, that's why there are laws that prohibit such things these days.

Aside of that the acting was fairly dry and the storyline was predictable, something of which I can get around in most movies that have any artistic value but I'm afraid this movie, if you want to call it that, has none, so only one out of five stars.

How I wish for a film whose storyline and plot based on naturism doesn't turn into shameless exploitation and arrogant commercialism.

Relax. This is a wholesome film.
29 July 2010
A very fine short film written by Jean-Julien Chervier. It's a story of a woman who brings her son to a vacation spot at a nudist camp. The boy, played by Marc Beffa, shows he is a lot wiser that most folks would perceive him to be, as he faces a life challenge of knowing the right thing to do when he meets one of the other female tourists at the camp and the two find themselves on a path to a budding romance. The lead female, played by Geraldine Martineau, is nude through most of this film, although Geraldine is indeed an adult so no controversy in that department. Trivia: Geraldine, it is understood, was well into her 20s when she played her role in this film 2009.

Basically the film is about the main character overcoming fears that have haunted him up until that visit to the camp, and the 'thawing out,' as the title implies, reveals in the boy someone about to become a very responsible yet gentle young man who realizes the importance of a well- thought out decision with respects to folks around him.

Nicely filmed in the hills of France, with the participation of Arte France Television and the Center of National Cinematography, and backed by the Aquitaine Region and the Department of Health, you are assured that this short film was produced under strict guidelines and regulations in order to insure that all was done in accordance to laws and proper procedure. La Fonte des Neiges has aired on French national television and has toured the French and U.S. film festivals.

La Fonte des Neiges is one of the very rare naturist-nudist based films where a good sense of responsibility is exhibited at a time when romance sets in and represents a potentially consequential proposition.

Mildly entertaining and even nostalgic. Not exactly a comedy though.
18 July 2010
I give Naughty Stewardesses a 5 out of 10 primarily because the acting in this move is a trifle sluggish. Other than that, Naughty Stewardesses offers a variety of good things such as a wee spice of comedy, good scenery from many parts of the United States and even some suspenseful moments such as later in the film as tensions between the washed-up film producer in the story and the movie's leading male character build up to a boil.

It's also refreshing that the dialogue in this movie is fairly clean with very few expletives. A nice break from what is usually expected from many of today's movies.

It's cool to revisit the trendy styles, the clothes and the sights from the early 1970s, that's what makes this film rather nostalgic. The music in this film consists of great original songs with a kind of a late 1960s groove.

So all-in-all, and beyond the sluggish dialogue, you'll find Naughty Stewardesses to be an entertaining package that offers many facets of entertainment in one film.

Reality-based documentary of the public's ongoing battle for the preservation of Constitutional rights
1 January 2010
This is the movie about Pirate Radio that is designed to help folks of all walks of life who see this movie understand first-hand why pirate radio, and to dispel any dis-beliefs about how far the FCC will go in order to prevent our United States Constitutional rights from being exercised in the form of free speech and to also preserve the infrastructure and corruption of the mega-monopolizing national bigwigs, whose primary intention is to not only command the airwaves but also to dictate and severely limit on a national level the very content of programming choices that will be available to listeners.

It also documents very well the ongoing battle for our rights to even qualify for low-power authority, that is for those aspiring micro-casters who wholeheartedly WANT to play along with FCC rules and go through the proper channels, but trouble is the FCC refuses to play fair.

Pirate Radio USA is not based on any fiction, it is reality and a serious wake-up call to listeners as well as aspired radio engineers and programmers who fight for listener's rights to choice and to restore fair opportunity for the privately owned company to operate as a legitimate and properly licensed station and have fair opportunity to serve in public as well as advertisers interests.

Definitely worth a look
16 May 2005
I am pleased to say that this film re-make was done really well and faithful to the original, which I saw in theaters back in 1979. The hairstyles, makeup and camera-work are all very impressive in the telling of the story, Ryan Reynolds'd performance as the leading role is impeccable, even in what would seem to be rather difficult scenes to act in in this film. Fantastic performance by the rest of the cast, and special effects are not over-done but done appropriately. Those who have seen the original, Amittyville Horror get a film that compliments the original movie nicely, as well as the original story, meanwhile those who see this one first get an excellent and faithful rendition of the original movie.
