Napoleon (2023)
not the napoleon i want
I watch this movie becouse of his nominees for "Best Costume Design" and "Best Visual Effect", this is realy the good things of the movie, The period reconstruction and the battle for me they ware magnifest The period costumes and how France in particular and Europe in general look like it is like time machine.
The battles ware the highlight of the movie the movemant and the feel like we are in the battleground the all set pices and the the amount massive of extra.
Unforantaly there is a lot of problem that make me feel disappointing Despite the advantages I mentioned.
My biggest poblem is the script, "David Scarpa" who worte the story show us the battle and a little bit of the the relationship between Napoleon to Joséphine de Beauharnais, but even after the movie end we still dont know what make Napoleon the man he is.
The secend problem i hve with the movie is the actors, i am a big fan of Joaquin Phoenix and Vanessa Kirby but unforetanly what they provid is barely enogh, thourh all the movie they were in two mood anger, especially in Joaquin acting or Helplessness. For me there The chemistry between them were ok Given that this is what the script gave them but what they see in each other ( Napoleon Bonaparte and Empress Joséphine) is still a mystory for me. I it realy herd to me to criticize such a great actor as Joaquin but he realy dispointed me. For me if we saw napoleon realtionship with his borother or his childhood something with more feeling i want to feel something in drama here i feel nothing.
My third problem that can be conected to the script is the editing, i can understand that the script put in the front Milestones from Napoleon's war and segnifet momant from his life maybe there is people who like that structure of the film but the The transition between several scenes with white disponited me for me it is Excuse to move to the next scene.
The Bottom Line: maybe there is people who will like this film, maybe even you if you serch movie with ection or if you intersting in Napoleon's wars.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012)
The Cliché of being a walkflower
The Perks of Being a Wallflower directed by Stephen Chbosky Based on a book of the same name he wrote describe the life of Charlie, Unpopular high school student with tragic life who begin high school and Connecting with brother and sister who are in the last year of high school and their friends groups and also fall in love with Sam (the sister).
I think the biggest problem in the high school Cliché Although I can't complain because this is the story of the books in the cinema and the tv we saw so many time the underdog the unpopular we saw it in "glee" in "Assassination of a High School President" ,"Easy A" ,"Diary of a Wimpy Kid" and so on. I can understand that it is easy that way to Wirth story from the perspective of the geek, the unpopular but there can be so many story about so many type of people in high school.
Sam- Charlie love story- i must to admit in the beginning Falling in love with Sam was cute and real in some way it happen in high school that you find a girl in your class or in the high school and you falling in love but in the movie it took the time until something happen in this aspect of the movie yes he tell her and he show her that he love her but just after the true or dare something interesting to the plot happen but the part that he need to cut the connection were so bad and the love triangle between Sam-Charlie Mary Elizabeth for me it like we need something to fill time and not something that could happen. Why he even in relationship with Mary Elizabeth we didn't see something that we can teel yes they can be together. For me it is Sam has boyfriend so I'll settle for her friend.
Patrick- I can understood his role as the comic relief and the character who inviting Charlie to the group but for me he was over comedian and not fit in to the dramatic story. I think the main problem for me in his character is that he to much " Press the gas pedal" and this disconnecting me from the story. Yes we understand that he use the comedy to hide his wounding but sometimes the comedy come At the expense of the dramatic/love story
Although for me there is a lot of problem in the movie there is also positive things, the character of Mr. Anderson played by Paul Rudd who is shine in his fewer scenes and kind of deliver the massage what is love "We get the love we think we deserve." So simple and so deep and collect the meaning of being In love and loved which is what the love story of Sam and Charlie love story actually show we don't choose who we love it just happen, I think without Mr. Anderson we don't get the massage or what we need to learn from the story. The second thing I love is the music which take some part from the movie, I mean taking about music and overall songs like Heroes (David Bowie(, Come on Eileen (Dexys Midnight Runners), Asleep (The smiths), and so on. I love music and I appreciated the choice of the song in the movie and it add some value and increase the massage and the setting of the early 90's
there is things that i love and thing that i hate in this movie.
I think that if you love teen movies but with drame you will love that the other who want to watch maybe they will love maybe they don't.
Sleepy Hollow (1999)
Gotic legend
It is good movie from creator Tim Burton, I loved the gothic atmosphere and the theme of science v magic/ fantasy. Part of The the characters were good, i think Johnny Depp were very good and make a fresh take on the science detective guy who try to solve the mystery. Christina Ricci were very interesting as the The romantic interest and also wtho who through her we learn about the "magic" , great supporting character. The other supporting cast were outstanding and help to the atmosphere of the film and the genre (mystory, horror, fantasy and detective movie)
Unforntally this is also one of the weaking spot of the movie, the love story between Christina Ricci character and johnny depp character were a little bit unnecessary, i understand this is one of the way that the movie deals with science versus magic because he is science guy and she is witch. I am ok with that spect of the theme but the The chemistry is not there.
The second problem of the film is "The solution to the mystery", when we find out who is the "killer" and who control the "Headless Horseman". The problem for me is that we as audience can't solve the mystery and the motive of the killer is something we can't notice him the all mystory is among the drops, On the one hand we get some clues on the other hand the all backstory of the killer and why he kill his victim is something we find out in the final act. For me in mystery-detective movie the viewer "play" as detective alongside the main hero, and yes there is some movie that are exceptional but for me "Sleepy Hollow" is not this case maybe for you it is.
Overall it is great movie, great performance and and a good and present Gothic atmosphere but if you don't love blood in film horror and a little bit of grotesque this is not the movie for you.
The Circle (2017)
Circle of boaring
Saw this movie yesterday, i really wanted to like this "The Circle" i hate to watch a movie and at the end to feel that is was a waste of time, unfortunately this is exactly this case, a waste of time.
In many movies we see the pattern of rise and fall of the hero, kind of a moral story for example wall street and The Devil's Advocate. The hero got his "dream job" but finds out that Things you see from here don't see from there, and at the end he Fighting to do the right thing. The problem in the cirecle is that we don't see Mea's routine, we don't see how she is in her work, how she is with her friend thing that highlight the change. For me my carelessness from mea arc make me do be apatite i am not interesting even to a lesser extent in mea as the hero of the story.
The second problem is the Turning Point. What make mea to learn the lesson and try to make thing back to normal happened suddenly, but the problem is that it is kind of separate story and it is not even mea fault 100%, what make this death of her romantic interest to be Meaningless, it is here only for An emotional moment unfortunately the delivery, how it is happen and the propermce of both actores. Ok she is in her bad and she feel sadness but in a blink of second she return to the workplace. Emma Watson and Ellar Coltrane miss this point for me there is zero of Expressing emotion, where is the drama where is what the The character pass and feels
I don't know if it is my problem of expectation but from such of good actors like Tom Hanks and Patton Oswalt i expected more, in the movie they are kind of Steve Jobs. They are the ceo's of the circle, a social media probably one of the biggest. As the "villain" there is a blink of thing that make them interesting for example how they are carrying for Mea's parents, but in most of the movie they are doing nothing Except for giving a speech. Why they started this startup what is there motivation.
Message- I do not have any problem with movies that try to say something about topical things. I can understand that the movie in some way try to say something about the privacy and social media. This is the the topic whare the movie could be interesting in some way. The problem is that the movie Doesn't do anything to make it interesting or intriguing ok mea speak with people around the world ok she share her life and lose her privacy. I really thought that this movie could reflect The modern era of social media but the message unfortunately failed and don't developing to something interesting about the cost of privacy.
I don't know if i can even to recommended this Despite my review because maybe there is people who will enjoy this movie. Try by yourself maybe you will enjoy and maybe You will be disappointed and think this movie is bed like myself.
King Richard (2021)
an ok movie
When i was a child in high school i knew someone who was mediocre, not the best in sports and not the best in Professions with exams, just a mediocre in everything.
I think the best definition i can give to the movie "King Richard" is mediocre. It is even far from the best movie of the year but at the same time not the worst movie of the year.
After the movie ending probably you will forget what you what you watched and you continue with your routine.
This movie based on a true story, this is the story of richard Williams, The father of two of the best tennis players in the world, Venus Williams and Serena Williams .the performances of richard and the two daughters are solid there is nothing special it is a solid one. The only Character who surprised me is Rick Macci played by Jon Bernthal usually he Playing tough and rough characters like "the punisher" and Shane Walsh in "the walking dead" so it was refreshing that he played a positive and optimistic character, kind of a teddy bear. Will smith i know he won the oscar for that movie but if to be honestly there is nothing special it is ok and nothing more.
About the editing, i love it in the games sequences and how they use the editing to pass time but in the other parts of the movie the editing and the cinematography were ok, I won't remember any of them after watching the movie.
My problem with the movie is the script. Where is the the conflict ? What is the dilemma of the characters ? I can understand that the father-daughters Relationship is what hold the drama but non of them change we don't see there obstacles. Usually in movies that beside on a real story the hero Going through a shocking experience and how he Overcame the difficulty here This aspect is lacking. I knew that Venus Williams and Serena Williams want to show their father in a positive way and i respect that but this Reduces the drama.
In conclusion a feel good movie, a daily watch nothing beyond that.
The Consultant (2023)
Poorly tv
When amazon released information about "The Consultant" (the casting of Christoph Waltz) and later the trailer my hype was vary high, i was vary curious about the show . I did binge of one day on all the episodes and I must say I am vary disappointed, its been a while since I watch such a bad tv show.
I think there is 3 reason why it is so bad:
1) payoff- there is many thing in that show that not coming to solution, thing that are important to the story such as how the consulting Convinced people to do many thing, how did he know that the bad thing going to happen, why these companies? . If the point is that he is the devil or any supernatural power so the story didn't hinted at it. And if he is really the devil and the point is Deal with the Devil why this company why this people. There is many thing that didn't get to reward.
2) the consultant- Christoph Waltz did such an amazing villains in the past for example Inglorious Basterds and here where he had the chance to make an amazing performance he disappointing. A very incoherent performance he is jerk boss and there is moments where he is vary Cruel and "Boss from hell", but this moments are few. He is a mystery person and there is something strange about him but at some point it began to be gimmicky.
3) comedy and drama- The Consultant tagged as dramedy. For me there is a few moment of comedy. I think the drama happen sometimes due to Nat Wolff and Brittany O'Grady they are the emotional anchor and the point of view for the TV viewers. I must say the drama Not so noticeable for me and this is because i don't have emotional identification. They really did their best and there is moment of fanomenal acting but there is moment of that the bad performance.
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore (2022)
Spectacular visuals Poor writing
I love the Harry Potter movies, I love how to world and the magic seen on the screen, i love the books, and i even played the video game.
I watch every single movie of the Fantastic beast trilogy so it is heard to me to say it is the worst movie in the in the whole universe of harry potter (maybe there is competition with some Harry Potter movie but I don't remember them so much)
it is important for me to talk first about the good thing, it is the all movie is bed and Not worth watching. The visual of the movie is something that no one can take from him, the magic battles look realy astonishing, Visually spectacular there were some shot that the were seen amazing.
My main problem is the plot, in the begging of the movie the group split each of them go to his mission but in the end their is no payoff it felt like there is half of story instead of a whole story. There are characters who do not contribute to anything and there is no satisfaction in the general plot line of the film. They are in the film just for pulling time.
If you fan of Harry Potter i don't know if this movie is for you. I think it is good movie for Watching TV if you feel like passing the time.
Scream (1996)
why it is not scary ?
A little bit of history, in 1978 the movie "Halloween" were released, it wasn't the first Slasher movie, this go the Psycho but Halloween establish the rules for slasher movie "the victims of the movie always will engage in sex and the last Survivor always will be the The pious character, who isn't engages in sex. After few years a bunch of horror movie were released and today they are horror classics for exmple Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street which was directed by Wes Craven who is also the director of the movie "Scream".
I think the movie "Scream" try to do a different thing like to Combine horror and "comedy" and to talk about the Clichés of the horror slasher movie. There is experience here to honor the slasher and to talk about them and even to laugh, but the laugh is what for me ruin the movie, it's ok to Combine genre and there is many movie who do this, but the problem for me in the scream is the balance between "comedy" and horror, if the movie talk about the Clichés like don't split or look after your shoulder and the movie make the same thing I expect to "jump scares" therefore they don't scary me because I looking for them.
I think it is original that the killer is like a Character from "slapstick comedy" he is falling and wounded throughout the movie it is different from the The classic killers of the horror movie like Freddy Krueger and Jason (a nightmare of elm street and Friday the 13th. I love that the killer talk with the victim before he slaughter them, it make the movie like a "love latter" for The classic horror movies I mentioned at the beginning of this review. I think Although it is brave to make the killer this way it kind of ruin the feel of the horror, the killer is just not threatens.
Ironically The thing I did like is part of my problem with the movie and this is the conversion about movies it like the director communicate with us the audience, we know this is movie and the Characters know sort of they are in movie (it is not breaking the forth wall). Like I said it is "love latter" for horror slasher movie and there is ester egg for this movies which I find the way of the director to honor the movies history which I find a positive. In addition there is some Innovations that the movie do that catch be me unprepared, it use some cliché of the genera but in way that break this cliché.
In conclusion don't get me wrong this movie is not so much bad like it could be interpreted from this review. As I see this it is "Horror movie paradox" you try to be modernistic and to be something new but at the same time you forget the genre you try to innovate. If this is not disturbing you may might enjoy this movie, go and judge by yourself.
The Father (2020)
movie with heart
I watched many movies in my life, part of them was with amazing spaciel effect part of tham was realy epic but few of them really make me feeling emotions From the depths of my soul, this is movie like that. I think there is a lot of movies with special effect that hard to explain how they make this shot but it is even herder to make the viewer the identity themselves in the movie, Sometimes we watch movie from the heart not from the head.
The power of the movie is the Characters of Anthony who played by Anthony Hopkins and Anne who played by Olivia Colman their Relationships of father and daughter is the heart of the movie. Anthony is Dementia sufferer and Anne is the one who take care of him but when she meet a guy and movie with him to Paris she must to find someone who will help to Anthony. Everyone who know person with Dementia will understand that, for me is close issue and sometimes it felt like i know Anne i can understand her motive and her action it is like the the director Florian Zeller placed a mirror in front of me and when you met yourself the movie is not just a movie it is kind of experience. I must say it was heartbreaking to watch how the Character of Anne it is hard to watch how she absorbing the mood of her father and didn't respond
This movie is Adaptation to a play by Florian Zeller ( the director of the movie) Full Disclosure I didn't watch the play but I think this movie did something that play never can do and this is to watch the point of view of Dementia sufferer we don't know what is the time or place Although the movie set in one location and this is thanks to the change of the apartment, this is the power of Cinematography.
The thing the negative thing I can say about the is that i didn't like the Character of Paul who played by Rufus Sewell for me this Character is just there to be antagonist all he does is to complain and behave wickedly for me it make me to "exit from the illusion" . It is hard to for me to explain but for me it is the type of Character who is there just for the need of antagonist and not because it is necessary to the story .
I think if you familiar with Dementia or you want drama movie go and watch this this movie otherwise I don't know if you love but you can try and consolidate your own opinion.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022)
not even a Massive Talent
This movie is kind of a movie inside a movie. There is two type of this, there is a movie that know he is a movie for example Spaceballs and deadpool and there is a movie that talk about the movie industry for example Hail, Caesar! And Argo. I think The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent failed is salute to Nicolas Cage Filmography. There is reference to his previous film and his acting method. I know it is parody about him but i must say you must be with massive talent to failed acting yourself or a version of yourself. The only one who save the movie and preventing me rating this with 1 star is Pedro Pascal who play a rich man who is also a fan of Nicolas Cage.
The second aspect of the movie is the Relationships. All the movies in the world has this aspect without it there is no movie and this movies say this inside the movie. Unfortunately the movies doesn't use the Relationships between the characters if it Nicolas Cage and Javi Gutierrez (Pedro Pascal) or Nicolas Cage and his "family" or Nicolas Cage and Vivian Etten (CIA agent). It is stay in flat throughout the entire movie. At some point there is a beginning of conflict when Javi Gutierrez must chose between his life or Nicolas Cage life but the movie doesn't show any there is no Deliberation, the same in the opposite side (Nicolas Cage).
The third aspect of the movie is the action, the CIA the spy plot. It feel like it is a different movie. Although the movie himself laughing about it for me it doesn't belong. It feel for me like two movie that doesn't fit to each other, maybe it is enter to the script for the action I don't have any good Reason for that decision
nick cage- in the movie Nicolas Cage have kind of fantasy of himself or something else. It is unclear what is this persona. It is doesn't necessary to the movie it can be in the movie and in can be off the movie and it doesn't change anything.
In conclusion I think if you love Nicolas Cage movie and you love his acting method you Maybe love this movie if you are not any of this you Probably don't enjoy to watch this.
The King of Comedy (1982)
a tragic comady
I must to confess i am a fan of Scorsese's filmography. I always love his gangster movie but know i Found How diverse he is and he has Sense of humor.
The film released in 1982, and in many ways he Predict the future in the sense of the culture of admiration and how much talk show relevance today for example David Letterman and Conan O'Brien. The movie king of critic this topic and the the show business . In the movie the character of Rupert Pupkin (Robert De Niro) try to be famous in his realty he is "the king of comedy" and he is "friend" of famous comedian who host talk show, Jerry Langford (Jerry Lewis). Only after his fantasy collapsing Rupert understand how much his fantasy is not what he think, and he kidnaping Jerry in attempt to Appear in his show. It is kind of how the "small people" want to be someone and how the the society sometimes prevent them what make them to do Drastic measures. In the end of the movie Rupert is called the king of comedy but it is not clear if it is fantasy or realty.
I think there is a layer of sadness in King of, to be famous and active his dream Rupert must use in drastic measures. He is prisoner of his dream. In anther word he want what he cant get. He think he is "the king of comedy" Even though he is not funny. The tragedy is everybody try to be nice to him until he they show him the true, we can she this in the character of Jerry Langford. At the beginning of the movie Rupert help Jerry escape to his car and run away from obsessive fan (Masha). Jerry try to be nice to him and get of him but Rupert think they are real friend, just when Rupert and Rita arrive in his vacation house Rupert find out the true
There is in common between this movie and the movie "Joker". In both of them play Robert De Niro, in the joker he play the host of the talk show, this is a direct Homage to the king of comedy. Both of the movie "play" in the aspect of realty-fantasy the characters (Rupert Pupkin and Arthur Fleck) don't know what is real and in many point during thus two films we as viewer don't know either. In both of the films the "heroes" appear in the talk show because of their negative action, in king of comedy kidnapping and in the joker murder. In both of the film there is kind of confessions about their crime.
I don't know who will love the movie and who will hate him after first
viewing, i can say try it and make your judgment.
The Sopranos (1999)
the best tv show ever
I must to to confess that this is my favorite show. To make review about this is if i quote the movie the "The Usual Suspects" "How do you shoot the Devil in the back? What if you miss?". I must say right in the beginning that i didn't watch "Oz" and "the Wire" and maybe they are even batter than "the sopranos". It is difficult and complicated to try to explain why it is the best tv show and Probably there will be people that will disagree with me that is the best tv show, it is their opinion and I respect it this is only my point of view and you can disagree with her.
The first reason why it is the best tv show is tony soprano- tony soprano, played by James Gandolfini is the "all American" guy we can understand his mood it is the daily treble of almost all of us for example treble with the wife treble with the kid at school. It is something that we can sere with him in some level, everybody have the daily treble.
Legacy- in 1972, 1974 and 1990 release 4 movies that belong to the gangster genre (the godfather trilogy directed by Francis Ford Coppola and the Goodfellas directed by Martin Scorsese. The sopranos doesn't ignore them but instead she honor them. In the case of the godfather this is by dialogue and even by homage for example the character of Silvio Dante Quoting Scenes from the godfather trilogy, there is scenes that are homage for example in the season 1 2 criminals try to kill tony soprano while he buy and drink orange juice, this is similar to the godfather one when vito buy oranges and 2 people try to kill him. In the case of the Goodfellas two of the main actors play in the Goodfellas Michael Imperioli who play Christopher Moltisanti play the character of spider in the goodfellas and Lorraine Bracco who play Jennifer Melfi play the character of Karen Hill in the goodfellas. Like the godfather there is references in the show to the Goodfellas in dialogue or homage to scene from the movie.
Innovation- Like I explain the sopranos honor the Classic gangster movie of the modern era but it also inventive. It is the first time that the gangster sit in the "The psychologist's desk" before that the gangster didn't talk about their feeling and what bothering them. Here the gangster have panic attack and he talks with psychologist. The second Innovation is combination of genera it is realistic but sometimes there is formalism scenes.
Rewatch- I can watch the show multiple time and each time to Pay attention to different aspect like the Italian culture, psychology, family, mafia
the anti hero- tony soprano has two side. On the one hand the family the quarrel with the wife and the children and the conflict between tony and his mother. On the other hands he is criminal who make terrible thing like Cheat on his wife and murder. Despite all this We still love him because we can identify us in tony soprano sometimes, we all have conflict with the family sometimes we all have thing that are bothering us. Sometimes there is moments that the acting is real I mean it feel like it is not acting for example tony and his son, tony doesn't want his son to "to walk in his shoes" and this is touching, a father who want a better life for his son than his experience life.
I Probably can find more aspect to talk about like the the mother son Relationship and the Supporting roles but I stop here
I think if you want happy movies or happy tv show the sopranos is not for you. In addition if you have problem with violence and sex don't watch the sopranos, Otherwise go and see the sopranos and check by yourself after all this is just my opinion.
Licorice Pizza (2021)
drama and romance
"Licorice pizza", directed and written by Paul Thomas Anderson tell the love story of Alana Kane and Gary Valentine in the 70s'. For me the movie is both a love story and movie about movies in part of the movie.
I think it is an entry point for those who want to see a movie of Paul Thomas Anderson with positive characters, usually the characters in his movie are negative characters for example Daniel Day-Lewis as Daniel Plainview and Paul Dano as Paul & Eli Sunday in there will be blood.
I think the movie deliver The process of first love it is kind of Two steps forward one step back. Throughout the film alana and gary make progression in their Relationship but very quickly there is regression in the process what make to Alana dating with serval characters, but all of them kind of exploiting her until she realize that Gary is her true love. The dating of her with serval characters, kind of illustrates the message of true love "Each pot has a lid". It is vary unique to make a love story between 15 years old and 25 years old, i didnt watch a romantic movie like that before . It is kind of "Opposites are attracted" he is 15 years old and she is 25 years old, she try to find herself and he is an actor and a businessman later in the film and there are still in love, in think it is vary optimistic and positive thing Although the The age gap can cause discomfort.
The second issue that "Licorice pizza" engaged in it is the The film and television industry, this part manifested in serval ways, first of all the job of Gary Valentine in the begging of the movie is an actor he acting in tv show and making an Audition to an Advertising. Alana also make an Audition and there is a sequence in the movie Gary kind of directing her to answer to customers in the phone. In addition there are actors who is Relatives to parsons in the movie industry like Steven Spielberg's daughter and Leonardo DiCaprio's father and Gary himself played by Dustin Hoffman's son . I like it the use of Relatives for me it is original. Likewise there is Reference to movies and persons in the movie industry like Sean Penn as Jack Holden based on William Holden and Bradley Cooper as Jon Peters (real film producer).
The actors in the film are not so much famous (except Sean Penn and Bradley Cooper) the two main hero played by Cooper Hoffman and
Alana Haim is their first acting appearance. I believe them that there are in love and start to understand what is love and what they want to do in their future.
The cinematography is an aspect i love in the movie, i love one shot and Camera movement and in the same the static shot, all of them come expressed. One shot especially come expressed by character running or walking for example Alana, there is a lot of shot that the camera accompanied her when she running or walking.
What not work for me in the final act of the movie. For me to introduce a new character in the final half hour that Alana dating and they spared after 5 minutes and she understand she love Gary suddenly out of nowhere in make me to disengage from a situation. I don't understand what make her realize that she love him and he is the one for her.
The second thing that bothers me and prevent me to give to this movie 9 or 10 is the final scene, there is a lot of movies that end with the two lovers run each of them to the other person and one of them or both of them say "i love you" and there in rain in the scene. For me it is in the status of a cliché, it is Unoriginal.
In conclusion this movie is For those who want to watch An optimistic and sweet film or those who love romantic movie. I think there will be blood is a more good than Licorice pizza but this is just my personal taste.
Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003)
childhood movie
It is one of the movies i watch in my childhood so i have a good memory from this. Because i watch it as a child many of the refences i didn't recognize until many years later but it was still vary funny movies.
Today as an adult i can say it is still work much of that because of the refences to movies and the movies industry. The part that didn't work is the script and the actors (the human actors) and the MacGuffin dont belong to the feel of the movie. The villain scheme is ok i can understand how it connect to the narrative so it is not good and not bad it is something in the middle.
In conclusion this movie is kind of mashup of Looney Tunes with James bond. For this who want funny movie with solid action go see this. These who want movie to thing after the watching or want to see dramatic movie this movie is not for you.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again (2016)
lets don't do rocky horror again
Its been a time since I saw the original movie so I don't talked about him vary often.
I think the production is like a Graduation show of high school (of curse non of high school should do a production of rocky horror) that want to make a show for adult, non of the actors impress me and sometimes it feel a little bit like over acting. I know in the theater the actors occasionally must do this kind of acting for the last raw but in movies vary often it didn't work. I know it is kind of parody of the old movies from the 40s' and 50's and in this area actors do this but for me its junk.
About the change of frank from man to woman- I think it kill the main massage of the original movie, and the character is ruin by this dissociation with all my respect to Laverne Cox. . Also the whole song "Sweet Transvestite" is gratuitous.
The Narrator- I appreciates the homage to the original movie by using someone from the original crew for the new movie but Unfortunately the all character is Unfortunately the whole essence is to tell us thing that we already know and that's it.
"the audience part"-there is part in the movie that there is shots of "audience" watch the movie, theoretically it is good idea to show the fans of the show and the movie but for me its kind of takes me out from the movie. Maybe there is someone who love this new addition but for me it is Meaningless.
The songs- the rage is from vary bad to So-so with one exception and this is "The Sword of Damocles" but once again the acting obscure and destroy it.
In conclusion I cant think on nobody who will love this movie. My recommendation for you is go and watch Episode from a show you watch and love or Other movie.
Papillon (2017)
Papillon without wings
First of all I didn't watch the original movie so my review will be all about the remake.
I must say i am a little disappointed, there is small part of the relationship between the Characters and i believe this is the heart of the movie this is what make us as audience to feel "to be part of the movie". Anther part that miss for me is the routine of life in prison, the part that we understand the characters what make them Empathetic for us.
I loved the cinematography, I fee in the middle of the action like we are in the movies but it is not because of the Empathetic but because the cinematography.
About the The violence, the violence help to deliver the situation but in some part of the movie it feel neutral and in some part it feel unpleasant, onerous like it should be.
In conclusion it is not good movie but it is watchable.
The Prestige (2006)
the best movie-magic
From the beginning of the cinema there was Magicians such as Georges Méliès and Circus people such as Buster Keaton and Tod Browning.
Magic as said in the movies including three set, just like movies so we can say that the movie talk about movie in many way fore example the motif of the double such as the bird when Borden meet Sarah and borden himself who as a twin and there are both in the stage and both in in backstage. The twist of the twin brother because of that Implied Throughout the film a long with that there were Share life which hinted by that in some day borden love sarah and the other day he didn't. I think the twist work Although Christopher Nolan hint about it because we don't looking for it we are not "watching closely". I think it is what make the movie great- the script. I think the Periodic recovery has been done really outstanding, all the street and the house and the theaters.
The second motif is the competition. The movie is about the competition that grow among the two magicians, borden and angier, similar to the compation between the two scientist tesla and edison which combine in the movie. Duribg the movie each one of the magician try to make the greatest trick and to teanscend the other even if its mean to hurt the other and i think it is the main issues of the movie the obsession and specified but unfrontunely it is also the main problem of the movie which t i have it is hurt to be identified with the two magician that are not sympathetic and are negative each one try to hurt the other and sabotage each performance of the other. There is nothing that make us love the characters Breaking Bad that introduce a bad person that we can to sympathize.
A marginal problem is that the excuse of the taagedy that prevention the movie can easly to be resolved if borden will just say "i have a twin brother".
The movie is not for everyone you need to be vary focused and don't miss any detail, and don't expect to movie with positive characters.
Million Dollar Baby (2004)
million dollar baby
When I see a movie I usually Looking for Cinematic Expression and i know it is a movie, I mean I am not there with the characters, i know it is a movie.
Why I telling you this ? Because this movie pump me into him. I was there with the character in the arena, I felt every fist.
I dont see the boxing as the main issue of the movie Although it is there. I think the movie is about relationship, and missing dream. The relationship come in there way:
Frankie-mary: the core of the movie, it is what make the movie and the emotion. It is kind of father-daughter relationship. He see her as a chance to redeem himself, To correct his sins, this part come in many ways in his talk with Eddie and his conversation with the priest but the tragedy in the end it is he didn't get this and this come when Disconnects Mary's respiration machine. He try to get meaning through her but by that he lost her and a family which he miss.
Mary-boxing- a lot in the movie is her training and her fight it is what she love and what she do every day and all day. It is what she want to do but in the third act this relationship cut and she cant fight anymore, this is the part when the story chance she lost the battle and hurt and cant Breathe anymore by herself.
Frankie-Eddie- they are both close friend that cross a lot together. Eddie is Frankie Close friend and the only one who Frankie respect in many way. Eddie is the narrator of the story ,In some scenes there is voice over of him he. Eddie is also a person that miss his dream and find himself as janitor after he lost his eye in the world champions.
I think this movie is "dirty" but not in the meaning of language but in the Atmosphere ways, as Viewers we are in the arena the Camera is there we see every fist, the camera is also a player in the arena and in a move and in the scenes which not fight she help to deliver what is important and how as the viewers we need to feel.
In the button line I think it is an excellent movie but it is not for anyone if you seek a feel good movie or movie with happy ending don't see this movie.
Anna (2019)
bad movie
I start the riview that i love luc besson but it seems he is one hit man (i didnt watch Nikita the movie or the tv show), leon. It feel like to eat bad salad all the jump between time, just for what supposed to be a shock or twist is kill the movie. It like someone cut the movie to Pieces and link them together to a big mess . Also anna feels like a duplicate of Mathilda from leon.
On the other hand the action sequence were Pretty good.
Dreamland (2019)
Why this movie is not good at all
I think this movie has a Good intentions but it doesn't know how to use the cinematic tool.
The are shots that are shown throughout the film that i don't know if it is a fantasy of the main Character or something different, what are the Purpose of this ?
I really don't understand the motivation of the Character the main protagonist want go to Mexico to find his dad but the movie end before he even complete his jenury of even comeing to mexico. I.e. Whare is the conclusion ?
The rometic aspect also doesn't showing wall thare is no conflict in one moment he want alison in one momant he doesn't. One moment thay ate arguing and moment after he shot his step ded in the leg for killing her there is no process he main hero passes.
The movie as i see it is A kind of tale that a Character tells but i think it is doesnt good for the movie, there is no problem or elemnt of this kind of film. Also if the movie is a gangster movie why there is no devlop of this in the main character, they rob only one bank and that's it.
About the dead girl it supposed to be an important to the film and it Repeated serval time but in the realty i don't think it necessary Although it lead to the arguing but even this docent lead to some payoff.
One think positive it is the Cinematographic in serval time in the movies that the shot were really good.
Gemini Man (2019)
why i didnt like this movie
I think it has a great potential but The execution was not good at all.
About the actors-will smith did the maximum he can but even he cants save the movie. Mary Elizabeth Winstead wasn't necessary at all, if the wasn't in the movie it was still the same she didn't have An integral part. Junior as Character becouse the technology was with only one facial expression.
I think the technology is Only in its infancy, therefore the use need to be in small or like in the avengers endgame that the Characters Wore mask.
Film director- I love Ang Lee , Life of Pi and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon are really good movie but here the result are nothing like the two film I mentioned. I think he is visionary but the technology Does not allow this vision yet.
About the Cinematography- here it it the only part in the movie I enjoyed and this is the train Scene where we first meet Henry when he assassin the scientist on moving train.
Conclusion- good first scene, the rest of the movie much worse.
The Dark Knight (2008)
the dark knight
One of the Best movies ever. i didn't read the reviews when i saw the movie back in 2008 and i was shocked. probably one of the best Christopher Nolan movies
